Least i chosed Krisiloff 2 win this event in 08 he was running well and then he gets caught up in the big one and i was sooo mad when this happened :(
that freaked me out that 65 car wrecked my driver in the 7 car i was bout 2 cry.I don't call him Kyle Krashalot though DAMN Justin Marks wrecked him and i was busting in2 tears i felt bad 4 Kyle :(
nope its not, they do run old cup cars though especially since they cup series went to the COT. sold the old cars for cheap to the arca teams. and some cup owners also have cars fielded in the arca series but the series are not part of one another.
any1 notice that when they switched to the in-car during the wreck they were 1 sec behind the wide view... at 2:45 in the midle of the screen u see the car jump then on the in-car its 1 sec b4 it jumps...

I saw a "the big one" at an NHRA event. It took out like 20 Top Fuel Dragsters or something - almost the entire field! Fortunately it was in the final round on race day so they didn't have to resort to using Jr. Dragsters or something. =)
@jrfan07 Actually... the first "Big Ones" were at Indianapolis in the old days (I'm wanting to say 60s and 70s). When the cars could still go around the track full-throttle with pure mechanical grip but couldn't break away from each other.
arca is a series for an oppertunity for lesser experianced drivers can gain experiance for if the do make it to nascar, take justin allgier and he got to nationwide for winning the championship
For next year if you're still interested - they show the races on FOX in the beginning half of the year, then TNT for 5 or 6 races. Then they transition to ESPN and finally to ABC for the last 10 races. The Bud Shootout and the All Star race is on SPEED. Hope this helps.
no. that was oil from the crash. if you notice, in the martinsville sprint cup race earlier this year...it was rainging for the last 100 laps! but....it never caused a problem because they never 'lost' the track...they can race with just a drizzle....for a LONG time before they need to stop. even if it was rain....it sure as hell wasn't enough.
So, ARCA and NASCAR are basically rival racing associations in the US? Of course NASCAR is much more richer, but If you see, the kind of races, cars, tracks and even the profile of the drivers are almost the same.
Arca is almost a stepping stone for Nascar, similar to what the Nascar Nationwide Series is. Many of the young drivers in Arca are development drivers by Cup teams
I saw this race live on TV when it occured, too many laps under caution for my tastes. I like ARCA, shorter than NASCAR, but this race, so many cautions ruined it for me, made it long and boring.
No.. Arca is the Auto Racing Club of America... (or something like that) NASCAR is the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. Some Arca Drivers may transfer over to NASCAR. But both are different.
I think Michael Annett (the eventual winner) has a future in Nextel Cup. And he narrowly avoided the wreck (the last car to get through before crashing starts).
imagine that, kyle krashalot takes out half the feild. i hate that fat bastard. anyway, hey thats me around 3:10 in our cool new firesuits and baby blue helmets
So true this is one of the best ARCA Daytona races until the big one and the race became boring since the 1 and the 28 car was one of the few cars had no damage from the crash.

Guys, ARCA- Auto Racing Club of America
NASCAR- National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing
They're two different acronyms for two different series.
When NASCAR runs at a superspeedway, ARCA is typically there as well, but ARCA is mostly short tracks.

At 3:54, you can see raindrops on Brian Silas's winshield. This accident was caused by RAIN!
NASCARfan22k 3 years ago
those werent raindrops, that was either oil, radiator fluid or water, some sort of liquid either from his car or another. it wasnt raining that day.
jrfan07 3 years ago
to back up jrfan07, I was there and can confirm it wasn't raining, but the track was covering in liquid after the crash lol
