This is the best perfomance of Mio Babbino Caro, in my opinion. She is sweet, beautiful, soft . I see in her the personification of Belcanto technique. She sings without any effort. Few singers achieve this perfection. I've seen none, but her!

I first listend to her singing just after my favorite pianist Glen Gould had passed away in Toronto.

I was searching singing records in Metropolitan Toronto Library.

There I've just fallen in love with her whole world.

Since then I've been a great believer in her music.

Here in Japan, it doesn't seem that people are interested in her.

But I'm sure she will be the most important figure in this century.

I'm from Romania but i never heard about this goddess BIDU SAYÃO. I'm proud Romania has a link with Bidu,as Bidu's first opera teacher was a Romanian soprano.Romanians should learn about her in school and listen her divine voice instead of so much modern crap. Unfortunately after the World War II, Romania was killed. If the war wouldn't have happened i'm sure the face of Europe would've been quite different.

This is a proof of Bidu Sayão's greatness. In my opinion, she was definitely the most interesting lyric soprano of the 30's and 40's. Such a light and small voice, but what she did with this instrument! Her amazing technique allowed her to colour the phrases and to use her vocal resources with the most sincere and touching expressivity. Besides, she had one of the most impeccable legato I ever heard.
