If you can believe it, the only person who bullied me was my third-grade teacher. She was a black-haired, Dutch hag who would laugh at me for mumbling—I'm self-conscious about that to this day—and she would encourage the entire class to mimic me, and they did.
So, I can relate to a degree. I felt absolutely powerless and I hated myself. If I was a teenager I probably would've attacked her. And if was today (I'm 26), I'd sue her blind. Needless to say I'm bitter over the whole ordeal.
Thank you so much for creating this. I showed this to my teacher. The next day during class, she told us to take out a piece of paper and to crumple it up, but not rip it. Then she told us to smooth it out and try to make it like new again. When nobody could, she told us to say sorry to it. She said that saying sorry doesn't remove the scars, and then she showed the class this video. The looks on all my classmates faces told me the moral of the story hit home. Thank you.
I am so grateful for this song <3 I was bullied from year 7 to year 10. Even now, a year later, I'm on my own in school and stuff and it really gets me down bleggh. This song helps me a lot.
This song never fails to make me cry. I'm lucky in a way, I get bullied but it's not as bad as other people. My friends even bully me but no one cares about this. i get bullied at school, every day by everyone, ive thought of taking my life before but is it really worth it? eventually you will be out of sschool and make new friends . im only in 9th grade but im scared to go to school sometimes, ive been called gay, having aids, slut, many more.. people dont realize how much it hurts till it gets to them.

I've never been abused thankfully, but I've been bullied horribly. It's a horrific feeling. Like the whole world is against you, you're totally alone and nobody cares or loves you. You want to end everything, and you think killing yourself is really the only way to end everything. I hope those who feel this way, find strength, from any place possible. Oh my god...this song literally describes my life. I've been made fun of since I was in middle school. I've had barely any friends...that's why I got into music...to take my mind off the pain of being alone and hated by everyone in your town. And I still feel the pain buried deep in the scars I bear. This is why I hate most preppy, gorgeous, cute, popular people. They think anyone around them that's under, doesn't wear the same clothes or those people don't think the way they do, they make fun of people who can't help whatever conditions they have (my situation that I have) and for other reasons. My skin condition is what makes people mainly hate me for now reason at all. It really does hurt. No matter if the people doing it think it doesn't, it really does. I wish bullying would stop.

I have been bullied for years actually me and my friend, my friend didn't go to school one day because a girl named Sydney was being a bully. My friend ACCIDENTLY hit Sydney in the leg with a hockey stick and she yeld at my friend even though she appologize. The next day when my friend didn't come to school Sydney picked on me. And this video inspired me to stick up for not only my friend everyone. I will never stand for bulling ever agian. If you agree put thumbs up, help us support everyone.
its understandable when i think of it because i was in that position. i got laughed at and people avoided me like the plague. it makes you feel worthless and ugly and stupid and mental and i contemplated running away several times. but my mum noticed and helped me. i'm sorry no one noticed these people before it was too late.
I can honestly say I thank god I got help before I did what these people did. I know people that have almost done the same thing, including myself. Its so hard to keep your tears from pouring down your face when you watch this video, I cant believe that someone would bully another person to the point where they think suicide is the only solution. I am not very innocent because I've bullied before, but whenever I think about it...I feel awful. And I'm glad that I dont do it much anymore, so I wont have to be the person who caused another person pain and sorrow. And killed themself because of me, I will never be that person
I commented on this a while ago but I thought I'd just say, I listen to this song when the day just can't get better. Bullied at school and at home. I stop and listen to this song. I read the comments and can only say: Power through. Don't let them get to you like they have to loads of others like me. Don't let them do it. You have everyone around the world to talk to.
People tell me I have problems, but I ignore them. And when they don't stop I just walk away, but sometimes they have multiple classes with me so I can't just avoid them. I don't need special help, they just think I have problems because I don't do what most people do...

My friend chris he was bullied a lot and i always told the ones insulting him to shut it and one day i learn he hung himself becausr he didnt want to be bullied ever again. Those assholes insulted him still mocking the dead i could not let them opening there mouths to insult him so i actually phsically attacked them to let them feel what being bullied is like they never said anything bad about chris ever again
screw bullies, i've been picked on my whole life, for things as small as different music tastes and the way i choose to dress or style my hair, because i act differently, well they're all things that i'm proud of, and being picked on contantly is tiring, but in a way some good came out of it, because it's made me stronger and now i'm much stronger emotionally than they ever will be, and i just keep looking at the light at the end of the tunnel at i don't let anything they say get to me :)

i know how people feel. my own parents told me i will never be successful in life.i have been bullied many times in school because i am fat and no one stands up for you they just watch. it really sucks being bullied. feels like there is no way out except death but it isn't the answer. it just causes more grief for your loved ones.

When I was bullied, I had no one to turn to. My parents were abusive, distant and had problems of their own and my friends were bullied as well. Teachers only told me they couldn't do anything unless the bully actually DID something first. I know i'm not the only one who had this problem. And this was back in the 90's when things were a lot less intense then they are now.
A lot has to change before bullying can stop. The way people are brought up, the way teachers/adults react to the situation, the way OTHER children react to the situation... Parents not only need to pay attention to their children's feelings, but give them love and actual attention. Our society, as it is now, not only breeds bullies but depression in those who are or will be bullied. It's sick and wrong. Things need to change now, not later.
this makes me cry the whole way through.... because I am a victim of bullying but the sad part is I'm a bully myself... some may say that you aren't a bully if you talk about somebody behind somebody's back... that is bullying because you are trying to hurt or bring down somebody and this is what I struggle with myself... but the past day that I have been home from a church retreat I have done my best not to.... the strongest power against bullying is God... don't bash me for what I believe in.
This is a truly life changing video and it inspires me to make a difference. I know people are learning more things at a younger age, for example my 3 year old cousin knows what a boner is, i know thats a little "off topic" but it shows that younger people are starting to develop and grow up very quickly and knowing more things at a younger age can result in even younger kids committing bullicide and seeing that so many of these kids were about my age it's very scary something needs to be done!

I have considered suicide when I was in a dark place because I got myself into a whole bunch of trouble and felt it was my last choice... I'm better now, not perfect, but nobody is, I'm still not as far as I'd like to be but I'm working on it. Nobody knows how much Jesus has helped and given me thousands of chances but he still wants me and now I have peace, I feel beautiful finally.. :)
This is really sad I have a friend who almost commited suicide but because someone decided to just ask how he was he is still here today but i have a cousin who doesnt have a good story she is gone now and i wish people knew how much words really do hurt.

When I was younger, I was bullied in school and called "Gay" I always ran to my room and cried about it. They told me that I was a girl, that I was gay. I know that gay isn't an insult, but it disrespected me because I'm not Gay. They told me I didn't have a penis, I had a vagina. I felt sad and depressed and cried. I live in a "close-minded" country where Gay is an insult. But I am NOT gay. And that's why I hated to be called like that.

It's disgusting to think every thirty minutes a human kills them self because of some selfish jerk who wants to show off in front of hes friends. I nearly broke into tears just thinking about it. This video is SO sad. All the victims, some not even out of school yet, its unbearably hard to comprehend. I am almost in tears, knowing my sister was on that road, but fortunately she was helped. The near end of this video, seeing the faces of the normal teenages we all recognise from when we were at school, makes this nightmare a reality, and something must be done to stop more innocent people feeling this deep depression. From my point of view dealing with bullying is not that simple, once you're a victam or you're a bully yourselfit's hard to get out of for different reasons... When you're in need of help or guidence it's not always the easiest thing to find for example... There are situations where adults join in or ignore you even the people you trust the most
(mom dad teacher etc.) might not help you. So if they don't you will would be stranded and feel that you have no other choice then to end your life away because no one will help you.

I was being harrassed all year by a kid in the 7th grade, I ignored him and went on with my bussiness, until the last three days of school, then he hit my head up against the wall (After shoving me 6 times) and I hit him and got him down in 7 seconds.
I was suspended for the last three days. Had to do finals on Saturday. Almost lost my position as Student Council President. and got the same punishment as the kid harrassing me.
@PivotB3stZ He even admitted that he started it, had been bullying me all year, and was just jealous of me. And I still got in trouble. Here's the thing, Bullying won't ever stop, they say to tell a teacher but that makes you get in trouble more with him and probably his friend now, is embarrassing, and they'll figure out other ways to do it. The honest best way to stop it is to stick up for yourself.
@PivotB3stZ You can't help how the establishment reacts...as long as you felt you were in the right, and that you were standing up for yourself (which you should ALWAYS do, regardless of the consequences)...well, you can live with it. I have found it infinitely harder to live with the memories of times where I should have stood up for myself and didn't. No, the punishment doesn't match the crime, but in the end, it all worked out.
@LoversAndLiars47 Ecactly, There is a boy in my little brother's class who is mean to him, my mom and dad both tell him to stand up for himself even if he gets in trouble. I want my brother to be all right, but he doesn't always know when it's alright to stand up for himself.
this song hit home i was made fun of in high school all through it even when i got taller and buffed up i was the captain of my volleyball team and my track team i also played all the others to try them out. i attempted suicide and i was found by friends. and after i talk to them it was for bulling and that i was gay but i realized me trying to commit suicide i would have let someone else win so. i sood up to everyone who said anything negative and stuck up for everyone and made it easyier.

@1049028 Alot of people have a person like that in their lives...a person that takes it upon themselves to make your day a living hell. You know what though? Those people really aren't worth your time...they seem bigger than life, but they're not...and it's a passing thing. The important thing is to NOT isolate yourself...surround yourself with family and friends that DO think you're the best thing since sliced bread...makes the other person and their comments seem much smaller.

Most of the people who get bulled at my school are people who are really smart and the sad part about that is that while the bully's are picking on them they are getting ready for the future, so when the bulled are grow up they are very rich and have everything, while the bully's have nothing. so if you really think about it the bully's are the one who are hurting them selfs. the thing they all need is god, because god can do anything. @oreowizard1 Not suggesting anyone is inherently "evil"...and you're right, parents need to be monitoring their kids activities on the internet...that is a HUGE part of the problem.
That being said, I don't act any differently on the internet than I do in person, and I think the majority of people are the same way. It's just a few that take the opportunity of anonymity to show their other side. The internet is a "real" world, and it should be treated so.

amazing video and song, you know, i get bullied and teased sometimes and I also tend to be a dick to people i don't like,this really helps to remind me to try to treat others like i would like to be treated. here in america suicide and bullying is often ignored i feel and we really have to help change that.

@mccos123 bullying is usually a symptom. The bully and the bullied should both be helped. Parents that treat their kids like that shouldn't be allowed to have kids. They have no one to blame but themselves for the grief in their lives (the parents).

If you can believe it, the only person who bullied me was my third-grade teacher. She was a black-haired, Dutch hag who would laugh at me for mumbling—I'm self-conscious about that to this day—and she would encourage the entire class to mimic me, and they did.
So, I can relate to a degree. I felt absolutely powerless and I hated myself. If I was a teenager I probably would've attacked her. And if was today (I'm 26), I'd sue her blind. Needless to say I'm bitter over the whole ordeal.

Thank you so much for creating this. I showed this to my teacher. The next day during class, she told us to take out a piece of paper and to crumple it up, but not rip it. Then she told us to smooth it out and try to make it like new again. When nobody could, she told us to say sorry to it. She said that saying sorry doesn't remove the scars, and then she showed the class this video. The looks on all my classmates faces told me the moral of the story hit home. Thank you.

This is why I hate most preppy, gorgeous, cute, popular people. They think anyone around them that's under, doesn't wear the same clothes or those people don't think the way they do, they make fun of people who can't help whatever conditions they have (my situation that I have) and for other reasons. My skin condition is what makes people mainly hate me for now reason at all. It really does hurt. No matter if the people doing it think it doesn't, it really does. I wish bullying would stop.

I have been bullied for years actually me and my friend, my friend didn't go to school one day because a girl named Sydney was being a bully. My friend ACCIDENTLY hit Sydney in the leg with a hockey stick and she yeld at my friend even though she appologize. The next day when my friend didn't come to school Sydney picked on me. I am not very innocent because I've bullied before, but whenever I think about it...I feel awful. And I'm glad that I dont do it much anymore, so I wont have to be the person who caused another person pain and sorrow. And killed themself because of me, I will never be that person

screw bullies, i've been picked on my whole life, for things as small as different music tastes and the way i choose to dress or style my hair, because i act differently, well they're all things that i'm proud of, and being picked on contantly is tiring, but in a way some good came out of it, because it's made me stronger and now i'm much stronger emotionally than they ever will be, and i just keep looking at the light at the end of the tunnel at i don't let anything they say get to me :)

When I was bullied, I had no one to turn to. My parents were abusive, distant and had problems of their own and my friends were bullied as well. Teachers only told me they couldn't do anything unless the bully actually DID something first. I know i'm not the only one who had this problem. And this was back in the 90's when things were a lot less intense then they are now.

A lot has to change before bullying can stop. The way people are brought up, the way teachers/adults react to the situation, the way OTHER children react to the situation... Parents not only need to pay attention to their children's feelings, but give them love and actual attention. Our society, as it is now, not only breeds bullies but depression in those who are or will be bullied. It's sick and wrong. Things need to change now, not later.

This is a truly life changing video and it inspires me to make a difference. I know people are learning more things at a younger age, for example my 3 year old cousin knows what a boner is, i know thats a little "off topic" but it shows that younger people are starting to develop and grow up very quickly and knowing more things at a younger age can result in even younger kids committing bullicide and seeing that so many of these kids were about my age it's very scary something needs to be done!

I have considered suicide when I was in a dark place because I got myself into a whole bunch of trouble and felt it was my last choice... I'm better now, not perfect, but nobody is, I'm still not as far as I'd like to be but I'm working on it. Nobody knows how much Jesus has helped and given me thousands of chances but he still wants me and now I have peace, I feel beautiful finally.. :)

What struck me first about the people who have killed themselves in this video is how beautiful each and every one of them were, and also how young. It's just so sad.
I was bullied all the way through school by the people I called my friends-I didn't have any others. This video is SO sad. All the victims, some not even out of school yet, its unbearably hard to comprehend. I am almost in tears, knowing my sister was on that road, but fortunately she was helped. The near end of this video, seeing the faces of the normal teenages we all recognise from when we were at school, makes this nightmare a reality, and something must be done to stop more innocent people feeling this deep depression. Thanks to 'Beyond Blue' for all there work in this field.

From my point of view dealing with bullying is not that simple, once you're a victam or you're a bully yourselfit's hard to get out of for different reasons... When you're in need of help or guidence it's not always the easiest thing to find for example... There are situations where adults join in or ignore you even the people you trust the most

(mom dad teacher etc.) might not help you. So if they don't you will would be stranded and feel that you have no other choice then to end your life away because no one will help you.

I was being harrassed all year by a kid in the 7th grade, I ignored him and went on with my bussiness, until the last three days of school, then he hit my head up against the wall (After shoving me 6 times) and I hit him and got him down in 7 seconds.
I was suspended for the last three days. Had to do finals on Saturday. Almost lost my position as Student Council President. and got the same punishment as the kid harrassing me.
That's what's WRONG.

@PivotB3stZ He even admitted that he started it, had been bullying me all year, and was just jealous of me. And I still got in trouble. Here's the thing, Bullying won't ever stop, they say to tell a teacher but that makes you get in trouble more with him and probably his friend now, is embarrassing, and they'll figure out other ways to do it. The honest best way to stop it is to stick up for yourself.

@PivotB3stZ You can't help how the establishment reacts...as long as you felt you were in the right, and that you were standing up for yourself (which you should ALWAYS do, regardless of the consequences)...well, you can live with it. I have found it infinitely harder to live with the memories of times where I should have stood up for myself and didn't. No, the punishment doesn't match the crime, but in the end, it all worked out.

@LoversAndLiars47 Ecactly, There is a boy in my little brother's class who is mean to him, my mom and dad both tell him to stand up for himself even if he gets in trouble. I want my brother to be all right, but he doesn't always know when it's alright to stand up for himself.

this song hit home i was made fun of in high school all through it even when i got taller and buffed up i was the captain of my volleyball team and my track team i also played all the others to try them out. i attempted suicide and i was found by friends. and after i talk to them it was for bulling and that i was gay but i realized me trying to commit suicide i would have let someone else win so. i sood up to everyone who said anything negative and stuck up for everyone and made it easyier.

i love this video so much cause it shows how much people hurt because of pathetic people who have nothing better to do with there lives and bully other people, and i no how they fell because i was bullied and i will admit i want to kill myself but luckily i had family and friends to save me, and if you are getting bullied i wouldn't do what they did cause it does get better i love my life now it the best i have year that i have had in a long time <3

@1049028 Alot of people have a person like that in their lives...a person that takes it upon themselves to make your day a living hell. You know what though? Those people really aren't worth your time...they seem bigger than life, but they're not...and it's a passing thing. The important thing is to NOT isolate yourself...surround yourself with family and friends that DO think you're the best thing since sliced bread...makes the other person and their comments seem much smaller.

Most of the people who get bulled at my school are people who are really smart and the sad part about that is that while the bully's are picking on them they are getting ready for the future, so when the bulled are grow up they are very rich and have everything, while the bully's have nothing. so if you really think about it the bully's are the one who are hurting them selfs. the thing they all need is god, because god can do anything. @oreowizard1 Not suggesting anyone is inherently "evil"...and you're right, parents need to be monitoring their kids activities on the internet...that is a HUGE part of the problem.
That being said, I don't act any differently on the internet than I do in person, and I think the majority of people are the same way. It's just a few that take the opportunity of anonymity to show their other side. The internet is a "real" world, and it should be treated so.

I believe that being emotionally disconnected from the internet is something everyone should learn.

@mccos123 bullying is usually a symptom. The bully and the bullied should both be helped. Parents that treat their kids like that shouldn't be allowed to have kids. They have no one to blame but themselves for the grief in their lives (the parents).

This is the truth sadly, alot of kids in my school are shit talked for being different and stuff. I mean it's crazy really that people who are " Rich " or just more sucessful then you need to fill there egos by hurting you. My main example is that sterotype bullys in school are real. It's usually the jocks that randomly got to some less social kid and just break him/her apart for NO legit reason. Glad to see this video is up deserves alot more public media attention great work.

I don't mean to be rude, but i must be straight up. Though i too experiance cyber-bullying, i knew the risks when i go online. If you have a child, please for the love of god do not let them go on the internet. A 13 year old should not have a myspace account, because their hormones are raging, and they cannot comprehend complex thought. I don't care if people hate what i say, it's the truth.
