@as26370 And when you try to tell the "poor" what they need to consider to keep from staying poor, you get "It's my life, I do what I want, Im going to die anyway so I might as well die happy".
No one tells them to spend their $ on alcohol, black market drugs, bars and strip clubs, lottery tickets and tobacco.
It's not the rich' s fault if they are good stewards of their finances and others are not. You can call Boortz an 'idiot' but he's RIGHT!
@as26370 read my original post. I'm living proof that it's the decisions of the poor that keeps them poor. I've gone from homeless drug addict/thug living in a tent to a college student with straight A's. I'm aspiring to finish my college career in 10 years as a surgeon.
Wow, you people... I'm a poor man, I've been homeless quite a few times actually. I've lived in a tent a couple of times in my life, and you know what? It was my fault. Boortz is absolutely right. Only the strong survive. People willing to change who they are to become strong. I've fought from my state of homelessness and overcome my situation. I have a short professional haircut, I groom myself, and I am going to college now. Take responsibility for yourself, and change your situation.
@aeriusblindsight Great post, this needs to be posted on the front of every newspaper, gaming website, facebook, myspace, NYT, AJC, anything to snap people INTO reality!
@aeriusblindsight And you will make an awesome testimony to others on how to leave that situation. I can't really because I've never faced that, I've been unemployed due to layoff yes, but never without a house. I bet if you wrote a book on what you've faced, it would make a great seller. :)
@Tsuruta1 Thanks Tsuruta1. I don't know if people would want to read about my life though. I was a horrible lowly human being for a long time. I was a drug addict and a thug for a bit in my life. I just knew I would die if I kept up that life style. I didn't want to die a bum on the streets, and after realizing that I've fought with every fiber of my being to change my life. I hope to be a surgeon 10 years from now.
@aeriusblindsight ARE YOU KIDDING?? THAT'S A TESTIMONY!! :) That's the kind of story people who are still in that life NEED to hear. Like I said earlier, I can't be a witnessing tool to others on something like that because I've never faced it. But you definately stand a good chance to grab some ears with that. It is up to you of course to tell it in a book, but I guarantee you, you will provoked to share that story in case you hear others who say they cant rise above those sort of issues. :)
That's friggin'nuts man. There are people who never had the opportunity to succeed or fail in the first place. And there are those who always had a monopolistic access to resources and creates a system that denies it to others.
Our system isn't perfect & it certainly needs reform, but we don't abolish it. Because life is funny; As healthy as you are now, a freak accident not of your own fault can happen to you, & you will be rendered as helpless as a baby.
@Bushwacked487 If wealth is 'finite', then where are wealthy people getting their wealth from?!? Why are people sitting out in "occupy protests" begging from others to give them what you claim is 'finite?'
@Tsuruta1, Brother if your comfortable with your pay being cut every year, & your health insurance going up every year to the point you can't afford it, you stay on board with "Neal Boortz", "Herman Cain", & "The Tea Party"! Just remember the money that they have cut, that's surplus money you could be building your side thing up with! I was doing the same thing! I like what "Jimmy Hoffa" had to say!
@marcussatterwhite My pay, in jobs I've had, were never "cut" because of costs going up, my jobs were eliminated because of people like you, who told lies, and because I refused to do other people's jobs FOR them, and I didn't allow sorry, useless, management and supervisors who don't take accountability for their screwed-up directives and tried to make me a scapegoat. And because of that, I'm SELF-employed. Okay? You clearly are one with an entitlement mentality.
@Tsuruta1 You just articulated my sentiments exactley. I am also contemplating going into business on my own. How is it going for you so far? I hope really good.
@kurmx Oh things are slowly but surely picking up, :) in any new business you have to be patient. In the meantime, if you like, I recommend the book, The Secrets of Self-Employment. by Paul and Sarah Edwards. And consider any title where that book is sold that you feel encompasses your entire outlook on self-employment. :)
@TSURUTA1, If you had said that during President Reagan or President Clinton's era, i would agree with you! President Obama is trying to fix things & bring some of that back, "Neal Boortz", you & others have a problem with that! I've been a working man all of my life, "NO WELFARE HERE"! Since 2000 i've seen all the" greed & corruption" make it harder & if not impossible to do what you are talking about, i once thought like you until 2000 came along! Why get mad with 2008?
@marcussatterwhite I TOO am a working man, okay? Don't try that with me. In many workplaces I've caught many people whining about what their bosses should pay them, the hours they work, who got promoted over who, what their bosses drive around in, all kinds of CRAP. I've never envied who I've worked for, because I try do my OWN moving up on the side.
Obama with his principles is an enabler and will only further the mindsets of many, and those will end up with your tax $ going to them.
Neal Boortz is crazy! How can people continue to prosper when businesses keep getting greedy and more corrupt. If the private sector was doing what it should have been doing during the bush years, President Obama couldn't do what he is doing so easy! Come on now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@marcussatterwhite Big man, it's not strictly the business' responsibility to take care of one on everything. When one elects not to use their time, their ideas (if any), to create and build for themselves, and elect to spend their $ on things they do not need, it's sickening when someone wants to take $ from others who found a way to put their time and ideas to work, and compensate others that do not work and/or do not want to try and compensate themselves. You've got an entitlement mindset.
Neal describes the typical teabagger & his fans: Angry at people who do better and aren't total kneejerk fools iike themselves and angry at the poor for being losers & dependent on welfare
Im a black guy, I just heard about him 20 minutes ago; a video of him talking about dead thugs in Atlanta. I listen to another video about black man's accomplish and this, I see his point. His example of the guy drinking beer all instead of working on something, he is complaining. I agree with that analogy.
I HEARD ON THE RADIO THAT YOU SAID THE SIGHT OF THE PRESIDENT DISGUST YOU WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING MY MOM LISTENS TO YOUR TRASH SO SHE WILL KNOW HOW TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST YOU!!!!!!! I WILL NOT TAKE THIS LYING DOWN!!!! AND I WAS SHOCKED! I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON INSIDE THAT TWISTED HEAD OF YOURS BUT I THOUGHT THAT GROWN UPS COULD EXPRESS THERE OPINION BETTER THAN THAT!!!!!!
@keithdra No, the vast majority of wealth is earned. According to study of Federal Reserve data conducted by NYU professor Edward Wolff, for the nation’s richest 1%, inherited wealth accounted for only 9% of their net worth in 2001, down from 23% in 1989. (The 2001 number was the latest available.) According to a study by Prince & Associates, less than 10% of today’s multi-millionaires cited “inheritance” as their source of wealth.
@EffieReal wealth is inherited - your fancy comment shows that rich people dont actually inherit the money, but what it doesnt show is that rich people have a certain social heritage which allows them to make a lot of money themselves. If your parents are millionaires, chances are you wont do so bad in your life either, but if your parents are very poor, chances are you will have a tough life with burdens other than money - something people like Neal Boortz just doesnt seem to understand.
@EmoSlayer86 That is just your strongly held beliefs (religiously socialistic). But, the facts are facts. Fact is people move across the societal boundaries of poor/middle class/rich every day in this nation. Up and down. We are not a nation of feudal lords, caste systems and embedded members-only clubs of wealthy. The very idea is the antithesis of what it is to be an American. Anyone can be wealthy or poor in this nation. Denial of that is unrealistic. You give no credit to hard workers.
@EffieReal Youre making mountains out of molehills - im not denying any of that, all I'm saying is that not everyone CAN rise in class just because they have the means to do so. I know that people make millions from scratch, but its downright stupid to say that the people who fail at doing so are "moochers". Do you honestly believe that bottom 50% of the US are "moochers" who just dont work hard enough? btw, im not a socialist regardless of what you say, i dont believe in welfare either.
@EmoSlayer86 I was merely responding to your appeal to emotion as a response to my quoting the study on how much wealth is actually inherited. You called that a "fancy comment" and insisted that somehow beliefs if held strongly enough trump statistical data. That's socialist thinking as far as I can read it. So you say your not a socialist? Perhaps you don't adhere to all of the tenants, but you certainly have that one down pat.
@EffieReal I apologize if my comment is easily misread, but I did NOT say that beliefs trump statistical data. Your statistic indicated that wealthy people in the US make their money and don't inherit it - which I bet is completely true. But, I thought to myself when I read the comment that a statistical analysis of rich people would ALSO indicate that they come from a wealthy family and are not in the bottom 50% to start with and their social heritage is a big reason for their wealth today.
@EmoSlayer86 It's not a crime to have a curious nature. That is a reasonable question. However, since we are venturing merely subjective answers to it here. I'll add that it seems to me the "social heritage" of parents alone can also have a serious negative impact on the success of their little darlin's. We all have immediate examples of this phenom in our pop culture addled brains. I'd say work ethic is a better inheritance; along with respect for self and others and spiritual wisdom.
@EffieReal I agree, and it's true, plenty of people do rise to the top and do it from scratch, but unfortunately not everyones hard work is rewarded equally. My dad always used to say that "rich kids" may have an easier time getting into an ivy league school, but sooner or later, their work ethic will catch up and then their social heritage won't matter anymore.
@EffieReal Fact is people do NOT move up every day. The VAST majority of the wealthy grew up that way. The system is RIGGED so the rich get richer and the poor get screwed, Wall Street doesn't WANT full employment, having lots of jobless, lots of poverty ensures a work force that'll work for slave wages. This system IS the very opposite of what we're SUPPOSED to be about.
YOU give no credit to the hard workers stuck at the BOTTOM, in pretending wealth has anything to do with "hard work".
@PrisonerNumber9653 Show me some evidence for anything your have said. You are just spouting class-envy rhetoric. It's not realistic. The majority of employers of this country are small businesses. Mom and pop. They are not out to keep people poor, pay slave wages or have the power to "rig" anything. Even the large companies would be working against themselves if that were somehow true. Poor people couldn't buy their stuff. They would go out of business. That's the way things work in reality.
@EffieReal The entire SYSTEM is rigged for the rich to get richer. Listen to the radio, you will hear EVERY DAY ads for "Financial planners." Do they help poor people budget, or find better jobs or more affordable housing? No, they help the wealthy get wealthier. They often use this exact phrase..."Make your money work for you." They own the property, own the businesses, own the stocks and bonds, own the means to grow wealth. No, small businesses don't rig it the big guys keep it that way.
@EffieReal 1% of people own 83% of the stock in this country. The wealth of the wealthiest Americans has EXPLODED in the last 20-30 years, while the poor fall further and further behind. The bottom 50% earns the same amount in a year as the top 1%. You shouldn't need more evidence to know what's plain to anyone with eyes open--the rich are getting richer, the poor poorer, and "hard work" doesn't have a damn thing to do with it. It's SICK to call wanting to feed your family "envy". It's JUSTICE.
@PrisonerNumber9653 It isn't "justice" to envy. Sorry. It's not ethical to be like that. You have companies and people confused. As I said, the "1%" do not do most of the hiring. The mom and pop businesses do. THEY are paying what they can afford. This government is what is keeping the wages low. Through over taxes and regulations on those mom and pops. They want to keep their good employees and their bushiness afloat. Big gov makes it impossible in some cases. That is the real "sickness".
@EffieReal The right constantly attacks not just what we believe in, but why. This BULLSHIT of it being "envy" is a bald-faced lie. It is NOT envy to support justice. Inequality in our society kills, kills MILLIONS, and you act as if it's a guy with a Chevy wanting his neighbor's BMW. This is NOT about "envy", it IS about justice. There's nothing REMOTELY ethical about the wealthiest nation in human history having the amount of poverty and suffering we do, the we have here and allow elsewhere.

@EffieReal And if these "mom and pop businesses" are not bringing in massive amounts of money, they aren't going to be effected, fact is they might be affected positively. A single-payer health care system would be the greatest thing small business ever saw, no more worrying about health insurance plans for employees, workers comp insurance, ect.
GREED is what's keeping wages low, "government" is NOT the problem. American businesses pay VERY little in taxes, and "regulation" protects people
@EffieReal Things like our pathetically too low minimum wage, protection of the rights, health, and safety of employees AND consumers, tiny amounts of protection of clean air and water for everybody, that's why the Chamber of Commerce is whining about in "over-regulation".
Your final sentence is just subhuman. People are DYING and you think the real sickness is business regulation? Do you even possess a conscience? "Let the wealthy hoard more, they'll make more jobs" DOES NOT WORK.
Has anyone learned that government is the only entity in the world that can take your freedoms, both economically and socially.
"Government is a fire, Sure it can keep you warm at night, but turn your back on it for too long and you might find the whole house burning down." : Me,
You know, I'm sick of hearing about the poor. 90% of "poor" people have HDtv's! That is not poor. you want to see poor take a good long look at honduras. I have a friend who's mom lived there. they don't even have toilets! STFU about the poor people of this country. If you are so sad about the poor people, /HIRE THEM\! Give them a job and they wont be poor anymore!
The definition of poor depends on the state of the nation. I would take your argument one step further by pointing out that 98.9% of welfare recipients have HD flatscreen tv's. I work a even 40 hour week for a pretty lousy check. When I buy groceries i get store brand food and not much at that. When I get in line The person in front of me has cases of beer, steaks, name brand everything and they pay for it all with a welfare EBT.
I personally would not feel bad about a "lousy" check. I just want to work and live my life free, I would be perfectly content working for 30,000 a year. I would, however, feel bad about living off others help.
Would it be nice to have lots of money, yes. but that is not my goal in life.
Actually I know a lot of Obama supporters with some serious cash and a lot of registered republicans who don't have two dimes to rub together. This idea that all liberals are these jealous underachievers is LUDICROUS. It's almost as dumb as poor conservatives thinking the "gubments gonna takes dare money!" What money? Most of the people I know with this fear live like crap..
Funny because there is no major difference between a Bush or Obama supporter. Neil Boortz wants me to work 16 hours a day,7 days a week for 2 dollars an hour and have no healthcare.
@jmkpns Actually, no. He could care less how much you want to work. He just doesn't believe another taxpayer should subsidize you if you aren't happy with your standard of living.
And I've got a nice hint for you. If you want to make more than 2$ an hour, learn a valuable trade. I don't make the wage I make because the government tells my employer they have to pay me a certain amount. I have a skill and provide a service to my fellow man. It's econ 101, buddy.
@ebeatworld We need jobs, but employers don't want to hire and look at all the people who have lost their jobs and healthcare do to this recession caused by "greed" and "corruption".
@jmkpns I have yet to have somebody explain to me how greed causes a recession. Ever hear of Fanny and Freddie?
Henry Ford was greedy and he created millions of jobs. Same with Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Howard Hughes, etc. Many people in my family have started businesses so they can someday become wealthy. And those evil, greedy people are the ones creating the jobs. As Milton Friedman said, of course, it's never you who is greedy. It's always the other fellow who is greedy.
There are alot things your previous presidents have done that you forget that are far worse than having dinner with a chinese president. They own our debt so it makes sense to play nice nice with them. Because if we dont they will collect on it and out dollar will be worth less than a penny.
To be fair, The American economy was always stronger when the rich and poor were on more equal grounds, and the economy only took a dive when the rich were given huge tax cuts. Obama is the right track. The average rich person is only rich because his dad was rich, and his dad was rich before him. They haven't earned anything.
Oh really...please provide statistical data to prove your comments.
My view is that your comments are utter nonsense based on your own bias/prejudice and marxist tendencies. The most comical is the statement that the average "rich person" (whatever that means) is only rich because his dad was rich...they havent earned anything. I think that ignorant statement really takes the cake. But, I'll give you a chance...prove it...or admit youre making it all up.
A million dollars isn't that much, Hell I have 800 grand in the bank, I'm talking about billionaire dynasties who control the media, fuel and banking cartels.
So don't drop the rhetorical crap on me and expect it to be an argument.
@Southparker100000000 The top tax bracket is 200k per individual, 250k per couple. The "huge tax cuts" given to billionaires are the same ones given to the 200k earners.
boortz is a shill for the controling elite,he doesnt know shit about working class america, talking down to those of us who work hard without knowing anything about us personaly is just stupid, boortz is a voice for corp interests and the real NWO conspiracy that is entrenched in the far right, and hes a dick, america needs to stop rooting for loudmouth opinionated assholes and ralleying around bullys,we need to stand together because we are all the underdog in the current economy
@shlokda Im an idiot? how so? please state your case ,,,,,otherwise shut your fucking mouth, have you ever really REALLY listened to bootz? I have, so tell me something he says that speaks well of working class america and doesnt kiss up to the far right big corporate machine? most americans work hard ,do we work our asses off so these assholes can judge us? hell no!,alot of us hve been out of work and trying hard to survive on unemployment or our savings without health insurance,so fuck boortz
@delta9999 Your wrong cigarettes will cause cancer over time statics show in most people even if you only smoke a few thats not everyoner but in most people.
@bondsly They need to do exactly what Boortz says and that get rid of these dumb laws like weed were people havent gone out comitted felonies and done bad to anybody if its so obvious then they ought to change the laws.
Judging by the way Obama is trying to run the Country, tells me that African American are astronomically dump and extremely ignorant in every aspect of life. They are a worthless race.
@edwardoalvarez22 Obama and other black liberals are dumb and ignorant, but you should look up Herman Cain, he is black and a Conservative Republican.
@MsGeorgiadawgs24 After Obama I can't see on the Black Man in the White House. No matter what political party they belong to they just not smart enough to me president or hold any type of Government Position. Just look to the extent of Obama's ignorance. He had a White House Steak Dinner for the Chinese President. China is a true enemy of the U.S. they just hide it that all. Inviting the enemy for dinner. That's just pure Ignorance.
I buy a case of beer for the weekend. I make a meager paycheck. Do I hate the rich? Nope. I work at a job that I enjoy, it just does not pay very much. Are the rich taking advantage of me? No. I have merely chosen a career that rewards me in personal satisfaction rather than a high salary. Does that make the Wall Street CEO evil? I think not.
@tdelamont Yo whatta matta homie? Ain't no room for hate in your heart? A little demoncrat hate? Y'know covet thy neighbor's possessions stuff? Yeah, we demoncrats be fired up. We like to kill dem gooses which lay dem golden eggs. Den we make hell on erf baby. Dem producers, dey serve people to make profit. George Gilder say profit is a measure of alltruism, but we don care. /sarc
@tdelamont I like Boortz... but he misses the point sometimes. There are some of us who do not need to be so damn rich and successful to get along in life. He enjoys his fame and his golf and get money by being paid to talk shit.He makes some good points, but he's out for his own protection. Which only show's ..he's into self. Still love ya Boortz....you are a great disciplinarian. If only I felt money and fame was the most importance in life. However I see more to it than that!
@tdelamont I have more respect for you than some arsehole who got rich like Boortz with his big mouth or some inside operator screwing over thousands of investors or employees from some remote office.
yea right, boortz. hedge fund managers extract the wealth that others have created. they buy and sell securities that hard working americans prop up. don't sit there and say these rich parasites got rich of their own accord. what a clown.
Have you seen 'A Christmas Carol' lately you mighty righties. You are Ebenezer personified. You need the ghost of Christmas past to remind you the mentality of the pathfinders who made this country. You don't even closely resemble your ancestors.
successes and failures...wow-how-how-how! This guy just revealed that he's working for the ultra-rich ON AIR! And you all bought it, I mean, really!?
What I'm wondering is what is the guy who's working a damn impressive 40 hours a week supposed to do to make ends meet? Esp. when the government is curtailed to the top-most earners, to cut them every advantage possible? The guy who works for a living is the enemy of the republican party!!!? You shittin' me? what happened to joe-the-plumber!?
You know what, youre right. All the laborers in this country should just quit their jobs. Then there wouldnt be anyone left to make money for the rich, no one left to order around, no one left to take the blame when things go wrong.
You know what neal? Revolution is coming. And if you end up with a bullet in your head its cuz of the decisions youve made
@phffeir You're missing the point completely. The point is, unlike many other societies in history, there is no law dictating who has to be in what social class. Anyone with ambition and a desire to succeed has the ability to earn more money in this country. Too many people don't realize that they can become wealthy if they work at it. Like Boortz says, the people who succeed do so because of decisions in their lives, and those who fail do so because of decisions they've made.
@dunkelfier Which is why most lower class people are liberals. They don't want to work and expect the government to take care of them. But when a conservative enters office and tells them that he won't pay their bills, they just bitch.
then how is it fair that doctors and dentists make more money than engineers? Dentists and doctors can fail at what they do but still earn the money, while engineers are under pressure because any faults they make, may possibly have huge impacts on society? The only reason why doctors and dentists make more money than engineers is that their professional school is more expensive, and they have a big loan to take out. Yet, there is no consideration for engineers?
Holy crap guys click the down arrow by views. Its a whole bunch of crap that I'll bet no one even looks at. Why is that there. I'm gonna be honest its saturday night at like twelve just got home still kinda high and I'm freakin out man. What is that stuff my mind is just stuck on it. All I can do is type about it. I mean why would anyone ever need that information. And what the hell does it mean. This is kind of scaring me. I usually just go watch videos for a while when I get home from baking b
(SP)cont.. face think that they are better than they are. That is when it gets personal. And it turns into a breeding ground of being more materialstic about what people, have and being more critical of what people dont have. I beleive anyone can make it in this country, I dont belive taxing the rich and saving the poor is going to anything to remedy this pridicament tranforming losers into winners. So the source is more accessible EDUCATION= oppourtunities, less federal gov relief programs.
This is the only subject that I find is little mushy for me to think about.
Idont think its wrong to want to take care of your family and have alot of security and all thamenities, I dont feel that wrong.
But it becomes a problem when people flaunt it in your face, for example saying "look at what I got-look at what I got-look at what I got and what you dont have." That is when envy starts in, then anger comes from the fact that SOME people who are well off-flaunt it in the other perons...
@USAGymnast the sad truth is that with elections coming up obama and the democrats need all the good publicity they can get to avoid a slaughter. its all just dirty politics....smoke and mirrors
@USAGymnast a perfect example is the job situation in this country. almost a year ago congress promised over 800 BILLION dollars for stimulus. some people were happy, and a lot were not. now there is a new bill calling for BILLIONS more yet all the money from the previous hasnt even been spent yet. where is the cry of reason, why promise more when you havent spent all of the original which didnt work anyway because if it did they wouldnt be proposing a new bill for more money
@USAGymnast its like the saying goes "never invest your own money". the left are just the same as any other politicians. they say what tickles the peoples ears, but when it comes to living up to the promises, and nice ideas they fall far short, or never even meant to follow through in the first place. im sure all politicians are thankful for the attention span that most voters have in the u.s. which for the record is about 30 seconds.
Neals right, alot of people claim , i cant find a job ....... wha.... thats funny , because i have three ... i dont want three but i got three .... there for the little things in life called bills !!!!! Why dont you dead beats go to work , and stop waiting on someone to give you something !!!!!!
How can anyone who isn't a millionaire take this guy seriously? He constantly shits all over the middle class. He is the living definition of elitist.
@ffhk1 I am not a millionaire, but Mr. Boortz is right, those that earn it earn it and deserve it. I went to college worked hard, I am 20 I am making $60/hr and I am still in college to do even better. So why is it that I get the same as the idiot that drops out of high school? Cause the idiots that slack off and don't strive to excel is precisely who tax code based income redistribution helps.
@ffhk1 My dad worked for the State of NY and my mom is a home maker. I put myself through college because I saved my pennies from when I was very young. When I was in school I was pulling 16 hour days (if I was lucky). You can make it here by working hard, and working smart. There are options to get degrees that they do not want to take. There is racial discrimination in this country it is called Affirmative Action. There is also discrimination against religion in this country good sir.
@Paradoxmagic See, by calling affirmative action racial discrimination you just basically stated that you don't care that African Americans were still suffering extreme racism and segregation less than half a century ago in parts of this country.
@ffhk1 So I am racist because I believe that Africans can stand on their own two feet and handle themselves as equals and don't need help to compete with their white brethren? I am racist because I believe that a black man can with out rigging do the same as any white? Dr. King wanted blacks and whites to sit at the same table, how is affirmative action compatible with that? There was segregation but as I said with AA it is still here and in effect
@ffhk1 You truely must be a simple-ton!!! NEWS FLASH ...... NEWS FLASH......... IF ANYONE DOSENT KNOW YET, CORPORATIONS ... ARE IN BUSINESS YES TO MAKE A PROFIT, TO KEEP THERE SHARE HOLDERS HAPPY . Not to wet nurse you f-ing liberals. Im just glad you dont run my company, ANYONE THAT OWNS A COMPANY ,FIRST QUESTION ARE YOU A LIBERAL !!!!
@Paradoxmagic no no no don't give us that bullshit, that's not the case all the time. some people honestly can't make it here. go ahead, walk around the streets and start up a chat with a few homeless people, spend some time with them. you want to know what they have in common? they're either A. mentally ill B. have never had a chance in life since they were fucking born or C. a combination of both.
what bunkum. Obama hates the private sector? Health care reform was a total boondoggle for the industry, with zero public option, there were single payer advocates arrested for trying to merely ask for discussion. So much for freedom. And Obama certainly is no liberal, but to pretend we all just hate rich people is utter shit, the immoral system is the problem, not childish petty envy.

For the record, if you care to read what I originally said, there's nothing in there about being a leftist or loving Obama or hating working people/rich people. So, you can continue responding to the voices in your head. I prefer to actually read what someone actually *says*, and then respond to it....but that's just me. I'm rational like that. :)
@beelio99 Well, if my "philosophy" has "killed" at least one "spirit" today, then I can say it was a good day. In fact that's all I think about--killing people's spirit, and being "Pro-Obama"....it's amazing that you spotted that, since I HAVEN'T MENTIONED HIM. And yes, I do just HATE it when people "rise up". I've made it my life's goal to stop them. God, you're so dumb. It's shocking and awesome, the stultifying level of non-communication that's been in EVERY RESPONSE to me. Bravo.
Barack Obama hates the private sector. His goal is to destroy it. Just look at all the dictatorships around the world. The masses suffer....all equal...while the elite leaders enjoy wealth.
Anyone that thinks Obama is for the poor, is stupid.
@beelio99 My "kind"? LOL! Y'all might consider actually looking at what happened here. I simply take issue with the notion that everybody gets the same opportunity. It's abundantly clear that some people don't have to work as hard as others. I never said that everything is down to luck, or that the government should do everything. Yet I'm treated like a pariah. You folks have the wedge issue already set up, and no matter what I actually say you'll treat me like I'm the enemy. Ridiculous.
@USAGymnast So.... if someone says something to you three times, do you get it or does it take more repetition? I said that luck is "AT LEAST PART OF THE REASON" for their circumstances. I never once said that "luck accounts for how life turns out". Is English your first language? I might as well bow out and let you have this exchange with yourself, if you're not going to respond to what I actually SAY.
@mikerandi the only reason you say that is because you are a parasite. go back to watching your Michael Moore documentaries. and while you are at it, go ahead and thank Mr. Boortz for paying for your well fair check you scum bag.
@drumrnva You're right. Luck does have some play in one's circumstances. The problem is when luck brings people down, they CHOOSE to stay down and wallow in self pity, then blame the rest of the world. No matter what luck does to a person, the only one that can bring them back up is themselves. People need to ask themselves the question, "What have I done to make MY life better." They need to take their destiny in their own hands and not wait for luck, or others to decide for them.
@USAGymnast I never said what you're quoting. How about imagining that the truth is much more layered than what you OR Boortz think? Isn't it true that many people can thank good/bad luck for at least part of the reason for their circumstances? BTW, simply because I questioned Boortz's viewpoint you have labeled me ("leftist") and you know all about how/what I think. That's a PERFECT example of non-critical thinking. Thanks!
So...the rich are rich due to their inherent virtues and smarts, and the poor are poor because they are lacking in some way. This is unbelievably stupid and oversimplified. Easy to digest, though. So if you're the kind of person who avoids critical thinking and is blissfully unaware of life's subtleties, you're happy with this explanation.
God Bless Mr. Neil Boortz! He can come off as a son of a bitch but this man understands what it means to be a true man. It's like the Hank Jr. Song: "A country boy can survive." Call me a red-neck, cracker, honkey, it's just music to my ears. We need a nation of men; real men, that can take back the United States of America. The funny thing is that I am not the least bit red-neck as I am an accountant. I just understand what it means to actually EMBRACE personal freedom and RESPONSIBILITY
I'm poor. I work 2 jobs. I work very hard. I don't have alot but I have what I need. I don't complain and I don't have anything to be ashamed of because I'm poor.
@waterhead001 right on, bro! i've made bad decisions, am in debt, am losing my student loan industry job of 14 yrs in 2 weeks because of the provision in the hlth care legislation, and i don't want a damned thing from my neighbors. i'll make my way best i can. no1 owes me anything. i ain't begging, i ain't looking for my neighbors $s thru g'vmnt programs, i'm just lookin' for work. american individualism on display! good luck, neighbor.
@richardarichard Hey, thanks! People like us get portayed like we are lazy and stupid because we are not millionaires. I wouldnt trade my life for theirs! Rich people and people in general seem to forget that it is the American worker who drives the economy, we get treated like dirt. No one can have a good buisness without smart, decent hardworking people like us! Good to hear from you!
no one will give me a job. so boortz you must give me money. the pigs took my carreer away from me because of weed , big fugging deal. open your goddam wallet boortz and pay up!

Another right wing conservative moron. These idiots need to get banned from the air waves for spewing constant hate. You do not have the right to hate speech.
@Gark50 yeah thats right you good little liberal, you trash that constitution, ata boy, trash the first amendment of free speech..
this comment just goes to show everyone that when a liberal doesn't like something they will stop at nothing to get their way even if it means to ignore our rights as americans..liberalism is a mental desease... wake up ..
@Tipton803 lol, thanks but yeah you can.. log out and then log back in. I think that works.. anyway, it's cool I was just speaking my mind, you know the truth? something liberals / progressives can't grasp... it's all due to the desease..
God forbid someone have been liberal enough to allow black and white people to sit next to each other on a bus, or in a school, or to use the same water fountain. Way to play Gark50's game and use a generic, polarizing, divisive term to avoid thinking. Generalizing is a mental disease, and both of you have it.
you must've written to the wrong person.. if you read what I wrote I wasn't even talking about , what did you say ? black and whites sitting on a bus ???
I was talking about gark50's fucking comment about banning boortz from radio due to hate speech i.e the first amendment, so clean out your eyes idiot or learn how to comprend what you read...
@nockuout1 Liberalism is the reason segregation & slavery have been abolished. It's about protecting EVERY human's rights - free speech included. What you pan as liberalism isn't liberalism. It's neoliberalism parading as virtue and fairness, just as what's called "conservatism" now is really neoconservatism. I'd suggest you research the difference, but the fact that you missed my point suggests that you're no more likely to comprehend what you read than you are to properly spell "disease".
@mortalrage I have no idea what the fuck you are babbling about.. What , was the comment made a fucking year ago , moron ? You have no idea what the fuck you are talking about either BTW, concerning liberalism I bet it's because you are a dirty liberal.. Probably a N.Y bleeding heart liberal,at that.. Get a job and a life move out of your parents basement, scum.. Reply all you want i blocked you bullshit 5 year ago comments.
@DawnOfTheDead991 No, Looks like you couldn't resist on commenting back about it, cocklick.. I guess it hits close to home.. Hey dirty hippy did I hit a nerve ?
@mortalrage i tend to lean more conservative than liberal because conservatives help businesses..while liberalism destroys business in the name of FAIRNESS...have you ever heard of the phase..."life is not fair" i have a question for all you liberals out there...are you proud to be a liberal? are you proud to have basicly enslaved your grandkids to the govt?

@aeriusblindsight And you will make an awesome testimony to others on how to leave that situation. I can't really because I've never faced that, I've been unemployed due to layoff yes, but never without a house. I bet if you wrote a book on what you've faced, it would make a great seller. :)
Tsuruta1 2 months ago

Because life is funny; As healthy as you are now, a freak accident not of your own fault can happen to you, & you will be rendered as helpless as a baby.

marcussatterwhite 3 months ago
@marcussatterwhite My pay, in jobs I've had, were never "cut" because of costs going up, my jobs were eliminated because of people like you, who told lies, and because I refused to do other people's jobs FOR them, and I didn't allow sorry, useless, management and supervisors who don't take accountability for their screwed-up directives and tried to make me a scapegoat. And because of that, I'm SELF-employed. Okay? You clearly are one with an entitlement mentality.

@TSURUTA1, If you had said that during President Reagan or President Clinton's era, i would agree with you! Since 2000 i've seen all the" greed & corruption" make it harder & if not impossible to do what you are talking about, i once thought like you until 2000 came along! Why get mad with 2008?
marcussatterwhite 3 months ago
@marcussatterwhite I TOO am a working man, okay? Don't try that with me. In many workplaces I've caught many people whining about what their bosses should pay them, the hours they work, who got promoted over who, what their bosses drive around in, all kinds of CRAP. I've never envied who I've worked for, because I try do my OWN moving up on the side.
Obama with his principles is an enabler and will only further the mindsets of many, and those will end up with your tax $ going to them.
Tsuruta1 3 months ago
Neal Boortz is crazy! How can people continue to prosper when businesses keep getting greedy and more corrupt. If the private sector was doing what it should have been doing during the bush years, President Obama couldn't do what he is doing so easy! Come on now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
marcussatterwhite 4 months ago
@marcussatterwhite Big man, it's not strictly the business' responsibility to take care of one on everything. When one elects not to use their time, their ideas (if any), to create and build for themselves, and elect to spend their $ on things they do not need, it's sickening when someone wants to take $ from others who found a way to put their time and ideas to work, and compensate others that do not work and/or do not want to try and compensate themselves. You've got an entitlement mindset.

bullshit most wealth is inherited wealth.
keithdra 5 months ago
@keithdra No, the vast majority of wealth is earned. According to study of Federal Reserve data conducted by NYU professor Edward Wolff, for the nation’s richest 1%, inherited wealth accounted for only 9% of their net worth in 2001, down from 23% in 1989. (The 2001 number was the latest available.) According to a study by Prince & Associates, less than 10% of today’s multi-millionaires cited “inheritance” as their source of wealth.
EffieReal 5 months ago
@EffieReal wealth is inherited - your fancy comment shows that rich people dont actually inherit the money, but what it doesnt show is that rich people have a certain social heritage which allows them to make a lot of money themselves. If your parents are millionaires, chances are you wont do so bad in your life either, but if your parents are very poor, chances are you will have a tough life with burdens other than money - something people like Neal Boortz just doesnt seem to understand.
EmoSlayer86 4 months ago
@EmoSlayer86 That is just your strongly held beliefs (religiously socialistic). But, the facts are facts. Fact is people move across the societal boundaries of poor/middle class/rich every day in this nation. Up and down. We are not a nation of feudal lords, caste systems and embedded members-only clubs of wealthy. The very idea is the antithesis of what it is to be an American. Anyone can be wealthy or poor in this nation. Denial of that is unrealistic. You give no credit to hard workers.
EffieReal 4 months ago
@EffieReal Youre making mountains out of molehills - im not denying any of that, all I'm saying is that not everyone CAN rise in class just because they have the means to do so. I know that people make millions from scratch, but its downright stupid to say that the people who fail at doing so are "moochers". Do you honestly believe that bottom 50% of the US are "moochers" who just dont work hard enough? btw, im not a socialist regardless of what you say, i dont believe in welfare either.
EmoSlayer86 4 months ago
@EmoSlayer86 I was merely responding to your appeal to emotion as a response to my quoting the study on how much wealth is actually inherited. You called that a "fancy comment" and insisted that somehow beliefs if held strongly enough trump statistical data. That's socialist thinking as far as I can read it. So you say your not a socialist? Perhaps you don't adhere to all of the tenants, but you certainly have that one down pat.
EffieReal 4 months ago
@EffieReal I apologize if my comment is easily misread, but I did NOT say that beliefs trump statistical data. Your statistic indicated that wealthy people in the US make their money and don't inherit it - which I bet is completely true. But, I thought to myself when I read the comment that a statistical analysis of rich people would ALSO indicate that they come from a wealthy family and are not in the bottom 50% to start with and their social heritage is a big reason for their wealth today.
EmoSlayer86 4 months ago
@EmoSlayer86 It's not a crime to have a curious nature. That is a reasonable question. However, since we are venturing merely subjective answers to it here. I'll add that it seems to me the "social heritage" of parents alone can also have a serious negative impact on the success of their little darlin's. We all have immediate examples of this phenom in our pop culture addled brains. I'd say work ethic is a better inheritance; along with respect for self and others and spiritual wisdom.
EffieReal 4 months ago
@EffieReal I agree, and it's true, plenty of people do rise to the top and do it from scratch, but unfortunately not everyones hard work is rewarded equally. My dad always used to say that "rich kids" may have an easier time getting into an ivy league school, but sooner or later, their work ethic will catch up and then their social heritage won't matter anymore.
EmoSlayer86 4 months ago
@EffieReal Fact is people do NOT move up every day. The VAST majority of the wealthy grew up that way. The system is RIGGED so the rich get richer and the poor get screwed, Wall Street doesn't WANT full employment, having lots of jobless, lots of poverty ensures a work force that'll work for slave wages. This system IS the very opposite of what we're SUPPOSED to be about.
YOU give no credit to the hard workers stuck at the BOTTOM, in pretending wealth has anything to do with "hard work".
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Show me some evidence for anything your have said. You are just spouting class-envy rhetoric. It's not realistic. The majority of employers of this country are small businesses. Mom and pop. They are not out to keep people poor, pay slave wages or have the power to "rig" anything. Even the large companies would be working against themselves if that were somehow true. Poor people couldn't buy their stuff. They would go out of business. That's the way things work in reality.
EffieReal 4 months ago
@EffieReal The entire SYSTEM is rigged for the rich to get richer. Listen to the radio, you will hear EVERY DAY ads for "Financial planners." Do they help poor people budget, or find better jobs or more affordable housing? No, they help the wealthy get wealthier. They often use this exact phrase..."Make your money work for you." They own the property, own the businesses, own the stocks and bonds, own the means to grow wealth. No, small businesses don't rig it the big guys keep it that way.
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@EffieReal 1% of people own 83% of the stock in this country. The wealth of the wealthiest Americans has EXPLODED in the last 20-30 years, while the poor fall further and further behind. The bottom 50% earns the same amount in a year as the top 1%. You shouldn't need more evidence to know what's plain to anyone with eyes open--the rich are getting richer, the poor poorer, and "hard work" doesn't have a damn thing to do with it. It's SICK to call wanting to feed your family "envy". It's JUSTICE.
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 It isn't "justice" to envy. Sorry. It's not ethical to be like that. You have companies and people confused. As I said, the "1%" do not do most of the hiring. The mom and pop businesses do. THEY are paying what they can afford. This government is what is keeping the wages low. Through over taxes and regulations on those mom and pops. They want to keep their good employees and their bushiness afloat. Big gov makes it impossible in some cases. That is the real "sickness".
EffieReal 4 months ago

American businesses pay VERY little in taxes, and "regulation" protects people
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@EffieReal Things like our pathetically too low minimum wage, protection of the rights, health, and safety of employees AND consumers, tiny amounts of protection of clean air and water for everybody, that's why the Chamber of Commerce is whining about in "over-regulation".
Your final sentence is just subhuman. People are DYING and you think the real sickness is business regulation? Do you even possess a conscience? "Let the wealthy hoard more, they'll make more jobs" DOES NOT WORK.

Don't get me started on section 8 housing....

creptoin1 5 months ago

I personally would not feel bad about a "lousy" check. I just want to work and live my life free, I would be perfectly content working for 30,000 a year. I would, however, feel bad about living off others help.

To be fair, The American economy was always stronger when the rich and poor were on more equal grounds, and the economy only took a dive when the rich were given huge tax cuts. Obama is the right track. The average rich person is only rich because his dad was rich, and his dad was rich before him. They haven't earned anything.

No. I have merely chosen a career that rewards me in personal satisfaction rather than a high salary. Does that make the Wall Street CEO evil? I think not.

And if you end up with a bullet in your head its cuz of the decisions youve made
phffeir 1 year ago
@phffeir You're missing the point completely. The point is, unlike many other societies in history, there is no law dictating who has to be in what social class. Anyone with ambition and a desire to succeed has the ability to earn more money in this country. Too many people don't realize that they can become wealthy if they work at it. Like Boortz says, the people who succeed do so because of decisions in their lives, and those who fail do so because of decisions they've made.
dunkelfier 1 year ago 8
@dunkelfier Which is why most lower class people are liberals. They don't want to work and expect the government to take care of them. But when a conservative enters office and tells them that he won't pay their bills, they just bitch.
MurphyMonster 5 months ago
@dunkelfier
then how is it fair that doctors and dentists make more money than engineers? Dentists and doctors can fail at what they do but still earn the money, while engineers are under pressure because any faults they make, may possibly have huge impacts on society? The only reason why doctors and dentists make more money than engineers is that their professional school is more expensive, and they have a big loan to take out. Yet, there is no consideration for engineers?
Javagui21 4 months ago
@Javagui21 So, does that mean that your solution is to use the tax codes to 'fix this'?

And it turns into a breeding ground of being more materialstic about what people, have and being more critical of what people dont have. I beleive anyone can make it in this country, I dont belive taxing the rich and saving the poor is going to anything to remedy this pridicament tranforming losers into winners. So the source is more accessible EDUCATION= oppourtunities, less federal gov relief programs.
j19527 1 year ago
This is the only subject that I find is little mushy for me to think about.
Idont think its wrong to want to take care of your family and have alot of security and all thamenities, I dont feel that wrong.
But it becomes a problem when people flaunt it in your face, for example saying "look at what I got-look at what I got-look at what I got and what you dont have." That is when envy starts in, then anger comes from the fact that SOME people who are well off-flaunt it in the other perons...

@USAGymnast the sad truth is that with elections coming up obama and the democrats need all the good publicity they can get to avoid a slaughter. its all just dirty politics....smoke and mirrors
jonservo 1 year ago
@USAGymnast a perfect example is the job situation in this country. almost a year ago congress promised over 800 BILLION dollars for stimulus. some people were happy, and a lot were not. now there is a new bill calling for BILLIONS more yet all the money from the previous hasnt even been spent yet. where is the cry of reason, why promise more when you havent spent all of the original which didnt work anyway because if it did they wouldnt be proposing a new bill for more money
jonservo 1 year ago
@USAGymnast its like the saying goes "never invest your own money". the left are just the same as any other politicians. they say what tickles the peoples ears, but when it comes to living up to the promises, and nice ideas they fall far short, or never even meant to follow through in the first place. im sure all politicians are thankful for the attention span that most voters have in the u.s. which for the record is about 30 seconds.

How can anyone who isn't a millionaire take this guy seriously? He constantly shits all over the middle class. He is the living definition of elitist.
ffhk1 1 year ago
@ffhk1 I am not a millionaire, but Mr. Boortz is right, those that earn it earn it and deserve it. I went to college worked hard, I am 20 I am making $60/hr and I am still in college to do even better. So why is it that I get the same as the idiot that drops out of high school? Cause the idiots that slack off and don't strive to excel is precisely who tax code based income redistribution helps.
Paradoxmagic 1 year ago 2
@Paradoxmagic Not everyone "slacks off"
There is still racial discrimination in this country
There is religious discrimination in this country
Some people have children, some people have to quit school to help their family
The cycle of poverty is not always "because of those lazy slackers"
I'm sure you had rich parents that paid your way through college. Not everyone is so furtunate.
I am fortunate enough to where I was able to put myself through school. Others aren't so lucky.
ffhk1 1 year ago
@ffhk1 My dad worked for the State of NY and my mom is a home maker. I put myself through college because I saved my pennies from when I was very young. When I was in school I was pulling 16 hour days (if I was lucky). You can make it here by working hard, and working smart. There are options to get degrees that they do not want to take. There is racial discrimination in this country it is called Affirmative Action. There is also discrimination against religion in this country good sir.
Paradoxmagic 1 year ago
@Paradoxmagic See, by calling affirmative action racial discrimination you just basically stated that you don't care that African Americans were still suffering extreme racism and segregation less than half a century ago in parts of this country.
ffhk1 1 year ago
@ffhk1 So I am racist because I believe that Africans can stand on their own two feet and handle themselves as equals and don't need help to compete with their white brethren? I am racist because I believe that a black man can with out rigging do the same as any white? Dr. King wanted blacks and whites to sit at the same table, how is affirmative action compatible with that? There was segregation but as I said with AA it is still here and in effect

what bunkum.

drumrnva 1 year ago
@beelio99 Well, if my "philosophy" has "killed" at least one "spirit" today, then I can say it was a good day. In fact that's all I think about--killing people's spirit, and being "Pro-Obama"....it's amazing that you spotted that, since I HAVEN'T MENTIONED HIM. And yes, I do just HATE it when people "rise up". I've made it my life's goal to stop them. God, you're so dumb. It's shocking and awesome, the stultifying level of non-communication that's been in EVERY RESPONSE to me. Bravo.
drumrnva 1 year ago
Barack Obama hates the private sector. His goal is to destroy it. Just look at all the dictatorships around the world. The masses suffer....all equal...while the elite leaders enjoy wealth.
Anyone that thinks Obama is for the poor, is stupid.
marathon1974 1 year ago 2
@beelio99 My "kind"? LOL! Y'all might consider actually looking at what happened here. I simply take issue with the notion that everybody gets the same opportunity. It's abundantly clear that some people don't have to work as hard as others. I never said that everything is down to luck, or that the government should do everything. Yet I'm treated like a pariah. You folks have the wedge issue already set up, and no matter what I actually say you'll treat me like I'm the enemy. Ridiculous.
drumrnva 1 year ago
@USAGymnast So.... if someone says something to you three times, do you get it or does it take more repetition? I said that luck is "AT LEAST PART OF THE REASON" for their circumstances. I never once said that "luck accounts for how life turns out". Is English your first language? I might as well bow out and let you have this exchange with yourself, if you're not going to respond to what I actually SAY.

manchuria00 1 year ago
@USAGymnast I said luck accounts for AT LEAST PART of one's circumstances. Learn to read. Or think. Or preferably--both.
drumrnva 1 year ago
@drumrnva You're right. Luck does have some play in one's circumstances. The problem is when luck brings people down, they CHOOSE to stay down and wallow in self pity, then blame the rest of the world. No matter what luck does to a person, the only one that can bring them back up is themselves. People need to ask themselves the question, "What have I done to make MY life better." They need to take their destiny in their own hands and not wait for luck, or others to decide for them.
wjsommer 1 year ago
@USAGymnast I never said what you're quoting. How about imagining that the truth is much more layered than what you OR Boortz think? Isn't it true that many people can thank good/bad luck for at least part of the reason for their circumstances? BTW, simply because I questioned Boortz's viewpoint you have labeled me ("leftist") and you know all about how/what I think. That's a PERFECT example of non-critical thinking. Thanks!
drumrnva 1 year ago 2
So...the rich are rich due to their inherent virtues and smarts, and the poor are poor because they are lacking in some way. This is unbelievably stupid and oversimplified. Easy to digest, though. So if you're the kind of person who avoids critical thinking and is blissfully unaware of life's subtleties, you're happy with this explanation.
drumrnva 1 year ago
God Bless Mr. Neil Boortz! He can come off as a son of a bitch but this man understands what it means to be a true man. It's like the Hank Jr. Song: "A country boy can survive." Call me a red-neck, cracker, honkey, it's just music to my ears. We need a nation of men; real men, that can take back the United States of America. The funny thing is that I am not the least bit red-neck as I am an accountant. I just understand what it means to actually EMBRACE personal freedom and RESPONSIBILITY

@nockuout1 Liberalism is the reason segregation & slavery have been abolished. It's about protecting EVERY human's rights - free speech included. What you pan as liberalism isn't liberalism.
