I picked up a good deal on some Hornady TAP (tactical application police) 12 gauge 8 pellet 00' buck at a gun show. They're advertised at 1600 feet per second, I'd be curious to see how 1600 FPS compares to 1200 or 1300.

Wow! Solid penetration (better than the 12" FBI minimum recomendation) with 15 seperate wounds. That person would be in SERIOUS trouble. Not to mention 15 bleeding wounds, but whatever organ/organs hit would be obliterated. You see how the pellets spread out once they hit the gelatin? This is what helps to negate the low spread at close range when firing a shotgun, most of the spread happens when tissue disrupts and alters the path of the pellet.
