  • :holds pause of silence:.......Now...this is soostupidand agervateing. WHY is it to always assume gay. When it can be he is B-I-S-E-X-U-A-L. Gooodness man seriously.

  • @AllenTax LOL you are absolutely correct, but you can't be against gay marriage and gay rights if you are bisexual it just doesn't make sense...that means you're a hypocrite.

  • FUCK religion.

  • adam m. lambert is one statement.......LOVE....get over it God made the choice for adam..as God makes no mistakes,,

  • adam m. lambert is one statement.......LOVE....get over it

  • 3:21-3:36

Yes ma'am! I hate having that conversation with my mother, because she believes vehemently that being gay is a choice, so we can't ever come to an agreement about gay rights because that is always standing in the way.

  • @FailaTelcontar just say u have a right to choose to be gay.

  • @Haydenbrooks83

No, because then that leaves her to believe that its a choice. Its not that is the point.

  • @FailaTelcontar so she thinks u could be attracted to women if you wanted to?

  • @Haydenbrooks83

I think she believes that some people have an evil temptation from the devil to be attracted to people from the same sex and if they were to just fight the temptation they wouldn't be gay.

  • @Haydenbrooks83 and people have the right to choose to be straight? Saying one is innate and one is not is homophobic....

  • Without whoopi, the view is shit.

  • she did not out him.i think she giving her impresstion of him.i fell the same wy when i saw him so........

  • PLeeeeease.. someone shoot the bimbo!!!

  • "vice world" - really ELIZABETH?! (in rosie o'donnell's voice).

  • I have a saying that some people "hide in the closet with the door wide open." IDK if Glambert was trying to preserve an air of mystery but getting outed was almost inevitable. Door was open.

One poor soul I went to high school with tormented himself that we wouldn't like him once he came out only to have the rest of us say that we knew he was gay before he did. If it was a problem, we would have stopped talking to him long before the grand revelation. He forgot to shut the door too!

  • Being Gay is not a choice. Falling in love is not a choice. Acting to your interests is. But that does NOT mean that people should make the choice of hiding what Gender they fall in love with.

There are way too many kids that get discriminated by their own family, who beg to disagree on the idea that being Gay is a choice.

  • Exactly. Hiding is a choice, but it's not one people should have to make.

My feeling is, anyone who wants gays to keep their gayness in the closet has to keep their straightness in the closet. No mention of boyfriends, dating, engagements, and certainly nothing about sex. No hand-holding, etc. :P

  • anyway i don't think it is a choice but fools don't know it....

they just opened that mouth of theirs.

  • I don't think that Sherri is the axis of evil, just uneducated

  • I Love gay people and im straight. everyone in my family is against gays that's just SO rasist. yes my family is rasist they hate obama too. i like him

  • @MaidenHellyeah

A lot of women do, men pay big bucks for it, nothing really new for most of us here maiden.

  • God, these women are boring. I don't watch the show, and only checked this cause I saw the magic word, "Glambert". (Oh, the places I've been for my daily dose of Adam ...) And then they made Adam sound dull. I wouldn't have thought that that was possible!

  • Amen to that!

  • @keikocat2001 honestly i think these women need a gay guy to keep them straight.lol.

  • oh lordy lordy i'll never roam again..you really got me there jackass. why don't you take your fuckin cookie cutter little dreams and go fuck yourself. did you know ted bundy had a pet collie that he named lassie, imagine that, a collie named lassie.

  • I loves Harpo, God knows I do. But I'll kill him dead 'fo I let him beat me.

  • FINALLY! Someone on Youtube says something INTELLIGENT!

  • Just to make one small point... I do believe the Emo trend is originally from the States. I think people in the UK have this idea that the US is super liberal (which it is really) but they forget the religious aspect that causes many people here to have "mixed views" on stuff like homosexuality.

  • us is not liberal..it's hyper conservative and religious....

  • ...those people that do. I don't like the way Lambert is all queen acting... the reason I do not like this i because he is now the poster boy for gay men... and many others like him e.g Chris Crocker are the same. I am from the UK by the way, but I am currently in the States.

  • Although Here in the UK gay lifestyle and the fact people are gay seems to be ALOT more accepted than in the US. Mainly i guess because we arnt a religious country. And with the new indie/emo trend it seems a young male has to be at leased bisexual or act it, here.

Sexuality is complex as you say and I dont believe its a gay gene as you would have to inheret it and unless your parent was gay... how would that work? Very confusing

  • Yes I knew we were coming to be on the same lines. A lot of people lie about their sexuality also y'know, but its their business. I actually believe the majority lie about their sexual preference :s

Anyway, I believed there was a "gay gene" I would probably just excuse myself and totally become a sissy stereotypical gay guy instead of the person I am now. I lift weights (bench 185+ pounds), I am into manly men, and I don't ever wear pink or dress like a girl AT ALL! No disrespect to...

  • And when I say I didn't choose to be gay is that I didn't choose the lifestyle, only that I preferred men. I am not in the gay scene or anything. I want to be seen as a human being, not as "the token gay dude" or whatever and I strive all the time to be the most that I can. I don't even really like the word gay y'know. That is what I meant. I just think men are more attractive than females for various different reasons, but enough for me not to be interested in women at all.

  • Aaaah Now i get you. You sound much more intellegent when you explain you thoughts as for the most part I agree with you. There seems to be a rush in the media to find out what "gay" is or what causes gay. Whatever it is we know its natural because "gay" behaviour can happen in many different species of animal where 2 males/females will pair up with another animal of the same sex exclusively... although thats homosexual as gay is more of a lifestyle now rather than a description of a sexuality.

  • If someone asked me if I was born gay or whatever, I would probably say "I don't think so" because I don't know for sure obviously. If someone asked me did I have feelings towards other males when I was young I would say yes, but that I was not sure what it all meant then. I think sexuality is very complex like I said, and perhaps some people are more likely to be gay than others... but I hate the liberal media with their gay gene theories and making it the gospel truth y'know.

  • I sort of agree with Elizabeth on this one. for once.

  • I think gay is a choice. That being said, I don't think people should be penalized for their choice.

  • Gay is not a choice. It is just a sexuality. Did you choose to be straight? That's

    what I thought.

  • God shut up! Stupid liberal babble bullshit. I am gay actually. I just don't think you are "born gay" like all these liberals seems to think.

  • maybe you're bisexual, otherwise you're lying. Anyone with a brain knows if you're not bisexual you can't switch back and forth, therefore it couldn't be a choice at all. Most homosexuals are strictly homosexual, born homosexual, and would not get an erection for a woman.

  • if you were really gay you wouldnt have said that

  • You're an idiot.

  • LOL a quick read down the page will show that you are the idiot, get a life.

  • Yes, I have a life and I have a fucking brain. That's why I am able to think for myself and not follow "facts" about the gay gene.

  • MAKE YOUR FUCKING MIND UP! If its a gene its not a choice! If its a choice its not a gene... it cant be both!

  • I didnt say it was a gene. Go to college numb nuts.

  • Hold on. Are you gay? If you arnt then its pointless because you cant comment. Its like a man saying childbirth isnt painful... or aa kick to the balls is more painful. Unless you are either you wont know.

  • I am gay but I believe its a decision that people make about themselves 'throughout" their lives. People have a choice of what kind of person they want to be with whether it be male or female, brown or blond hair, whatever! I am sure genes play a role somewhere, but its not a "gay gene" or a "gay brain" like all these liberal hogwashers want us to believe. We have a choice.

  • There doesnt have to be a gay gene for it not to be a choice. Its just the way we are. If there were any way it were a choice, Millions of teens would choose to be straight and not hang themselves because of religious parents etc.

If you could would you be straight?

If we had a choice I for one wouldn't be sitting here speaking to you about being gay.

  • To answer your question, no I would not choose to be straight. Why should I really care about other people's views? I am sure there is a process of learning that comes to being homosexual, and I understand that many kids who are gay when they are older are conflicted their whole lives. The funny thing about all these "studies" is that for the most part they are never tested on women and they have never really been duplicated. I believe in the free will and the ability to choose my friend.

  • Free will and choice has nothing to do with sexuality. When/why did you choose not t be straight? What was so appealing about gay that you thought "oooh i will have a bit of that", How did you get rid of your straightness, attaction for women? etc

  • Oh be quiet.

  • LOL So you cant answer... thats what i thought.

  • No its because your comebacks are really repetitive and annoying. I like men, I didn't choose to be "gay" though did I. I am not bothered about what the general public says gay is.

  • You have swapped again. Now you are saying Its not a choice.... Jesus, im trying to make a convo clear here but you keep changing your mind. You either chose to be gay or its just who you are.

  • I think there are choices involved yes. I don't believe in the coming out process crap. Its no ones business. Are you a feminine gay guy by any chance?

  • Nah, I am the same, coming out is an event created for those who need an excuse for a party. If people ask I say yes but I never straight up tell anyone. Also nope not a fem-gay, pretty much your agverage guy albeit slightly shorter.

As with everything there are choices, Is it a straight up GAY? Straight? Choice, I wouldnt say it was.

  • Sexuality is not black and white. There are too many people out there who want to put people, especially males, into a box. Men aren't even allowed to be bisexual these days. I just think its a preference overall, like a man who likes brunettes over blonds. I am sure that many people are gay or have those feelings when they are young, but I don't really believe someone is born gay, more that at a young age the individual may be more predispositioned to it.

  • Your statistics are off and so is the "official" statistic.

  • oh oh oh what the fuck...there is no god?

  • I'm not stating that there's no God. You're the one that talked a/b blacks going to hell and if there's a hell for people to go to there has to be a heaven also.

  • I love how you put "axis of evil" in the description box, lol.

  • ohmygawsh!!! are they argueing over adam when those two girls started yelling at eachother??? O_o or was it someone else O_o i dont know at all whats going on LOL!!!! XD

  • I wish people would just drop the sexuality thing.Like Gene Simmons for example.

  • I love it when Joy lets Elizabeth know whats up .

  • Katherine Heigl did the same thing to her "best friend" so I don't get why they would be on this chicks ass and not on Highhorse's. And Hasselbitch never makes a point.

  • I'm so glad I stopped watching this show.... I thought Elizabeth was going to run with Sarah Palin in 2012?? Shouldn't she be on a campaign trail somewhere?

  • i'm surprised she isn't. it's sickening how she will take any republicans side no matter how much wrong they do. she is so brainwashed in thinking that the republicans can do no wrong in this world. i wouldn't have been surprised if when Bush was still president and if he got arrested for killing someone, she'd probably STILL defend him and even offer to go to jail in place of him just so he could keep screwing up, i mean running our country.

  • JOY IS DA BOMB =P

  • Why is coming out an issue?! Yeesh

  • why are they calling him glambert???

  • TO: maxxlight310

    ahha I KNOW, right.

    XD

  • Glambert is his nickname.

  • wow you are showing your 3rd grade education!!

  • Agree on the 3rd grade education!!

  • now that is a forward thinking person right there..congrats for being so open minded

  • You're retarded. Next?

  • why should someone have to "come out"? do people still give a fuck?

  • i love joy...sheri and elizabeth make me want to punch the tv when there on but so glad always reminds me that there are people out there with common sense

  • she wanted to say "From what I've seen on... the internet!!!"

  • This should be a non event. People just need to look at his talent and skill and drop the gay witch hunt. People loved Errol Flynn and Rock Hudson back in the day BASED ON THEIR SKILLS as entertainers. Let it go already. I'm married and straight but I'm sick of people making a mountain out of a mole hill over this issue. Not just to Lambert in particular but others as well. IT IS NOT NEWS. SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES GOING ON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW. Let it go already.

  • lmao! she fucked him up. then he had to come out.

  • If you give a shit whether sexuality is a choice or not, you miss the fucking point completely. This is coming from a heterosexual male.

If you are against gay marriage, you are an ignorant, uneducated bigot. there's no more to it.

  • I actually observe more people that are liberal calling names, judging, and being hateful toward people of different views than conservatives that are against gay marriage. Once again this is demonstrated in your comment.

  • And your rational argument against gay marriage is??? That's right, I bet you have none. You probably think, "it doesn't seem right" or "the bible doesn't support this". Give us a rational or objective argument against it. If you can't, you are an ignorant uneducated bigot.

  • I wasn't making an argument against gay marriage in my comment. I was pointing out that most people I hear and see calling names and being hateful are the people claiming to be non-judgemental and tolerant. Just because someone believes differently than you or doesn't, in YOUR opinion, have a "rational" argument, you call them names. Who gets to decide what is a "rational" argument. You? Someone that believes the same as you?

  • DO NOT WATCH the zeitgeist movies!

  • why does everyone care, they don't talk about everyone else's sexuality, I am so sick of this. Barbara what is your sexuality ? Totally disappointing for the view!

  • Yea because we all know how well men are handling politics now....

  • SHUT UP ELIZABITCH!

  • god most of the ppl here on this thing are morons

  • Well good thing your opinion doesn't matter.

I think homophobes are incredibly hilarious.

They try so hard to insult us, yet continuously fail.

Calling us ''queers.'' Pssst... That's what we are! Surprise!

Come up with something original from now on.

    Oh, and by the way.

You state that you have to "celebrate gayness or you will be called a bigot."

Than you go on to try and insult the gay community by use of slang. You just contradicted yourself.

How? BECAUSE THAT'S BIGOTRY RIGHT THERE.

    FAIL.

  • well stated, take care.

  • can u resist clicking my username

  • Man Americans are stupid

  • they might as well call this the joy behar show .... i hate her so much

  • anything about the President's expensive luncheon? Ladies? Huh?

  • ILL RATHER SUCK ON MY COUSINS TITS :D

  • The view is 5 women bickering, nuff said

  • shut up grandma -_-

  • outed him?

    is Babs that naive?

  • people coming out is news still, what is this the 90's?

  • kara should have said no comment and not answer the question or said its he can answer that question. first of all why does she think she can speak for him and why is she even on the show? after paula leaves its over bc she is so lame. what credentials does she have? also, who cares about adams sexuality. he is more popular than the winner and was so gracious about losing. he will do well regardless.

  • I think he is very comfortable with his sexuality (probably bi) but hes smart enough to know that people will be more fascinated with him as long as he doesnt tell them. Its the controversy factor. Its our sad world that causes the issue. People want him to come out like its some secret shame. I think kara wasnt trying to do any harm I think she was just pointing out how dumb it is that we need confirmation.

  • agreed

  • I sincerly doubt people would be more fascinated with a star who is in the closest as suppose to one who accepts himself. Who is more of a role model, one who lives in fear and doubt or one that lives in Love and acceptance?

The idea behind coming out is not to accept your "shame" but its to reinforce that NOTHING is wrong with being who you are.

  • I am not saying he should be ashamed, I am saying the media is making it out to be something to be ashamed of. Your perspective is idealistic. it should be that the people are fascinated with people who have self respect but they arent. They are fascinated with people like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. People who they can judge and feel better about themselves. Right now he has the "is he gay" question in his back pocket. As long as he doesnt answer it will be a "mystery".

  • i choose not to care about adam lambert's sexuality. what i do care about is his amazing talent and the fact that this young man has a heart of gold, and has such a positive outlook on life that is so wonderful to see. these are the things that i admire about him and not who he chooses to be with in his personal life.

  • ugh. sigh these conversations...Barbara ended the conversation by saying ppl shouldn't "muck" in other ppl's business...apparently she is exempt from that? Oh well at least he's getting attention...I don't believe what Kara did was offensive she was just being honest and although I can understand that Adam doesn't want to be labeled I think honesty is the best thing and I'm not insinuating that he's being dishonest its pretty obvious that he is gay but w/e.

  • ADAM is amazing period

  • Gay is not bad.

  • what's the big issue?

so the guy is gay ,so what?

    get over it!

he's a great performer and that all that matter!

  • She outed him?

That's like me saying "Barack Obama is the president". EVERYBODY KNOWS! It's a non-issue, and the only reason Perez and the ladies on The View talk about it is to get site hits and ratings.

  • am i happy that i live in the Netherlands........

  • Its unfortunate that the topic of homosexuality automatically beings up discussion of ppl like Larry Craig. This is why visibility (of people like Adam Lambert) is important--so that there are better examples of people who happen to be gay, than Larry Craig!

  • why?

  • Because gay people aren't drag queens. Gay people don't wear make up.

Having someone like that out as an "example" of what a gay person is is a horrible way of representing homosexuals. Homosexuals are nothing like that. Homosexuals are just like everyone else.

But some of them make it bad for the rest of us. People like Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken and Chris Cocker (though I think he's more than just gay.) The person to represent gay people should truly represent them.

  • Lambert is a performer- he is meant to entertain.

People are people. I don't think anyone should be an example for any group of people...But if they were...I would hope the criteria for representation would be more than the superficial- like whether or not someone wears makeup.

He appears to be a nice and talented young man- would much prefer him representing my people then someone who is hung up on the exterior.

  • In the public eye, entertainers no longer simply entertain. Why do you think it was that Britney Spears's behaviour was so scrutinized? Thousands if not millions of children saw an idol in her. Do you really want young homosexuals looking up at Lambert and emulating him?

It has nothing to do with what he's like as a person, it's more to do with his effect on society. The only thing I have an issue with is when people think he's what an average homosexual is like.

  • And to be honest the public is still largely uninformed. Being a college student, a lot of the friends I have made have confided that they never had a relatively close gay friend. I've found myself actually facing a lot of innocent ignorance...and I'd be happy if the media didn't perpetuate the wrong image about us.

  • Because not all gay people aren't like that.

I'm tired of people thinking men like him are proper representations of homosexuals. People like him, Chris Crocker, Perez Hilton, the Jonas Brothers, make it bad for the rest of us.

When people think of someone who's gay I'd rather they think of Ellen DeGeneres, Ian McKellen, etc, and hopefully in the future the public will see us for who we are: people. The fact that they actually think of Senator Craig when they think of gay people makes me sad.

  • What exactly is Adam "like" that makes him such a poor representation of gay people? He's a genuinely kind hearted, loving human being who has been nothing but polite and generous to his fellow contestants and everyone involved on Idol. And even more importantly, he has gone out there MANY times already and talked to kids about having pride in who they are, and embracing each others' differences. I don't quite get how any of that makes him NOT worthy of being looked up to.

  • He is not obnoxious like Perez Hilton, he is not an over exaggerated hypocrite who blabs on about fairness and equality but then talks crap about other people. All he has done is go out there and be himself, and that sets an AMAZING example for young kids. He gets out there and puts on a kick ass show, dressed the way HE likes to dress, singing the way HE likes to sing, and doesn't apologize for it. But he's also an amazing and kind human being. And that's something all kids can learn from.

  • well said!!!! people seem to think that we all run around wearing ballgowns, tiaras and high heels.....well, maybe on date night...lol..... seriously, im glad someone else said this....we are people first and foremost...we work, pay taxes, have families, laugh and cry just like everyone else...stop focusing on what goes on between the sheets and focus on the person.....

  • Adam had to hide his sexuality because American Idol made him sign a contract to not talk about it. His family and friends had to sign the contract also. Now that the show is over, he will come and and be a great role model. Calm down everybody.

  • After American Idol was over he still didn't accept it. He was asked about it and he said "I like people to speculate about it."

Not to mention, I don't think he's a great role model.

  • American Idol still has control over Adam Lambert - all last week he was being interviewed as the runner up. Plenty of signals have been going out - "I know who I am"... - you just have to listen. Someone who just happens to be gay can be a role model. Has he been gracious, polite, helpful to his fellow contestants? Does he have talent that is beyond compare? Has he worked hard to get where he is? Yes. I will not sit in judgment of someone who has done nothing to hurt anyone.

  • Yeah, and the fact that he keeps on saying it's alright to be 'different' and kids who thinks they are different and weird should embrace their weirdness etc. etc. makes me feel that what he meant by 'different' might be being gay.. just my opinion, i personally don't care that much. I only watch few secs of this video haha

  • Are you forgetting the fact that Ian McKellen and Ellen de Generes was in the closet for YEARS. Wonder why there are still no young gay male superstars in US? Because small-minded, bitchy gays like you tear them down, that's why.

  • Haha. No. It has nothing to do with being small-minded or bitchy or coming. It's because the media isn't happy to show gay people as being regular people. It's boring. So they show the most outrageous characters, and then the general public ends up thinking that's how we are. Bitchy. Catty.

The minute I see a regular guy out there being gay, I'll be happy.

P.S. McKellen has been out since '88. Ellen since '97. If they'd come out then you'd think people could come out now.

  • You ARE bitchy. It really pisses me off that gay people are so judgmental about other gay people. How can you even expect to be accepted in a straight world if you can't even accept each other? I guess it is internalized homophobia and gender stereotypes due to societal and cultural norms and mores. It is a good thing there so many people love him for who he is and his talent overrode the prejudice and catapulted him to stardom.

  • You're being irrational. You don't know me or how I see other members of society. You don't know whether or not I accept everyone. Just because I don't think he's a great role model, you automatically assume I'm closed minded and I'm bitchy?

honestly, what kind of assumptions are those to make.

Also, dressing as a woman isn't breaking out of the male gender stereotype. That's trying to fit yourself onto the female one.

  • When did he dress as a woman on American Idol?! Rocker style clothing you see him wear on Idol is really his daily street wear. You claimed he isn't a great role model cos he wears makeup. That's a closed-minded' way of thinking. TONS of artists who are NOT gay wear makeup and you don't see straight people calling them bad role models.

  • He didn't wear it on american idol. But there's pics of him in drag circulating the internet, and they're real. :P

  • So what, he did it for entertainment, fun! You don't see him dressing as a woman daily. I've seen lots of straight people doing cross-dressing for fun. It really isn't a big deal.

  • And that's your opinion, but mine's different. That's mostly what it comes down to.

  • The fact is that your opinion is based on prejudice.

  • Lol.

    No....

  • So what. It doesn't matter. He still is superb talent! Sexual preference doesn't matter anymore. Go Glambert!!

  • It has nothing to do with his sexual preference.

  • Welcome to how the black community is... :-)

  • Elisabeth is sooooo....GOD-I don't even have the word to describe her jack ass! And she is bringing little mini-Elisabeth's into the world. Jeez
