It does rock, and I thought of William Shatner the whole time I was watching the new guy. I was impressed that he gave the character some new life, kept the wonderful arrogance that we know so well, but didn't do a cheesy imitation.

It is much better than all the other Star Trek movies...the young actor who plays the 'young Kirk' is very good and from some angles definitely looks like Shatner...but there was something quite repellent and skin-crawlingly creepy about seeing Leonard Nimoy. I thought that brought the film down slightly...but still very enjoyable.

Mr.Shatner, it's great to watch you on youtube! I met you in Ashland Oregon in 1978while you were visiting a fried, a theater professor at Southern Oregon University. You were very kind to those who approached you while you were having breakfast at the Ashland Hills Inn.  I was a young college student and the memory will last a lifetime! In the 60's we watched Star Trek on the old back and white television in the basement,(dad would notlet us use the living room color TV), the reception was not good in the basement so we siblings would take turns adjusting the rabbitt ear attenna's to get a decent picture, funny, whenever a commericial came on, the picture cleared up! ;p

Hope to still see Captain James T. Kirk on the big screen just one more time! :)
