@ldans001 This video was made by a bunch of kids who loved this song and wanted to make something with it, and learn a valuable skill at the same time. Comments like this make me laugh because people act like a bunch of 13 year olds were supposed to be cinematic geniuses. Looking back on this years later I appreciate that it has many flaws, but the idea for the video and the love of film making is still there.

This was a bonus song that came with Oh! Gravity. For about the first year or so, the CD came with a little slip of paper that said go to a certain website to download a bonus song called "Revenge." This is obviously that song.

And Jon also did another version of it for his solo EPs.

There are two versions - the Switchfoot version that came as a free download for anyone that pre-ordered Oh! Gravity and a second version that Jon Foreman released on his solo project - Spring EP. Personally, I prefer the version credited to Switchfoot.

My statements are factual - there are 2 versions of this song, and I never stated that Jon wasn't with the band, that he just had a solo project. "Hello Hurricane" comes out on November 10th and yes, I have pre-ordered, Maybe those of us who did will get another free download.

Yes. It was a special download offered if you pre-ordered the album, and yes, it is maybe the best song on the album, well kind of on the album. I wonder if Sony thought the song might have been too controversial to put on the album.  I don't think the video is a Switchfoot video, because it doesn't fit the song. Listen to the lyrics closely and you'll understand.

I'd have to say I like the Switchfoot version better than Jon's revised. I think the simplicity of the guitar fits the song better. I love Jon's solo stuff though.

wow!! I wish I got this with my oh gravity cd. This song is amazing, switchfoots song always show the truth in life truly pure.

Yeah, but that still doesn't get the meaning of the song fully out! It isn't some relative-thing it's passionate and have a deeper meaning. I still mean it's setting human in focus instead of God. I know its a difficult song to analyse, but you gotta see this way too you know... There is some other video which discribes the meaning probably. Just search Switchfoot - Revenge and you'll see. Ah, yeah. I get what the song is saying. That's why I like it so much. But this video isn't trying to BE the song. It's more about using the song and the video to tell a story. Too few music videos now actually use even the video, much less both, to tell a story. Too often it's just an excuse to "Rock out". That's nice and all, but it gets boring after a while.
