really what goofball statements above with the music pre-recorded. nothing could be further from the truth............Go hear them in person i know it is hard to believe he sounds this good but no lip sync with these guys the real deal just like AMERICA (gerry Beckley and DEwey Bunnell)...........These guys writing the above have NO IDEA what they are talking about.....they use nothing but tube amps and no voice enhancers no feeding in music whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything on this man aged very well including his voice. His voice is like velvet. He sounds incredible. And I love the enthusiasm of the gentleman (2:00) towards the back of the room, playing the piano (I think). He's back there rockin it. But I have to say, the guitar player up front, while he can play a mean guitar, looks very odd when he sings. Overkill on the pronunciation or something.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Where does this person get this "pre recorded" idea from? I saw him twice last year and he knocks himself out with a fantastic show. Strong voice and happy to be singing for you. It comes across very, very well. Wish I hadn't waited so many years to see him, but then maybe he has a new appreciation for his audience.

You are a knucklehead Velvet 4yah! What is the point of doing that. They may be using a harmonizer or something but do you really think he worries about sounding studio at this point? Hey, lets all go to a small bar and play backing tracks to songs that were popular 40 years ago. Silly!

being played from a Juke Box - stirring music - unforgettable fragments of two teen agers .. neither of us could understand the lyrics and yet ...nothing was missing....

@andsowhat29 so why did this comment get so many negative votes?
My experience was pretty much the same, except the jukebox was in a ballroom in a hotel on Miami Beach, we were new teens and listening from the beach, sneaking our first cigarettes, trying to find constellations, our backs on the warm sand.

@Velvet4U Yeah, it sounds like they took the live recordings into the studio and added overdubs. I saw Tommy James & The Shondells a few weeks ago and they sounded fantastic, the band was tight and the harmonies would be good enough without any added overdubs. Watch some other recent Tommy James live videos on YouTube to get an idea of what they sound like live in concert.
This James guy is a phoney, recorde music and all! . Looks like a fruitcake with that military sergeant uniform jacket. Like he's in the military service with that frizzy hair, lamb chops and paunch! Must think he's that Michael Jackson looney! Ha - hahahahaha! What a fraud!

@mcmartin2011 Yes, ALL the sound you are hearing was PRE-RECORDED in a recording studio, and played back during this show. I know exactly what I am talking about, because I personnaly know GLENN TAYLOR, (the ENGINEER and the studio) where he recorded this. These songs were done at "Taylor Made" Studio's in New Jersey. Watch closely, and you will see when Tommy sings, he steps away from the Microphone, missing the last words of the verse. Yet you STILL hear him sing the FULL verse.

SkidRowJosephine is pissed about Obama birth cert. it's only Hawaii, ALOHA! Tommy James was a "hit machine" when Michael Jackson was soiling his diapers! "I think we're alone" is not a modern hit but you did not know that. Tommy James recorded first song at age 13? 1960's 70's Radio all the time! I heard he turned down Woodstock gig too "druggy"? He has good message of Love and Peace!!! Wake up!!!

This is a great example of a live performance that betters the classic studio version. The more modern arrangement along with the great backing vocals here make this version sublime. Tommy's best song ever.

If you notice, the drummer is behind a clear noise shield. When playing that close to the audience acoustic drums are very loud. The drummer especially needs to hear what the rest of the band is doing, so he will wear headphones instead of an open monitor to hear whats coming out of the PA.which everyone is mixed into.AND TO ONES WHO HAVE SERVED AND ARE SERVING OUR COUNTRY-THANK YOU!!
keithpox1 wrote: "This song has been pre recorded. The drummer has headphones and is listening to the song so the rest of the band stays in beat. The drummer is the only one that is actually playing."
Excellent find! . Either that or the drummer wearing headphones is deaf?! Kind of a cheezy rendition of the original song anyway. Ha!

really what goofball statements above with the music pre-recorded. nothing could be further from the truth............Go hear them in person i know it is hard to believe he sounds this good but no lip sync with these guys the real deal just like AMERICA (gerry Beckley and DEwey Bunnell)...........These guys writing the above have NO IDEA what they are talking about.....they use nothing but tube amps and no voice enhancers no feeding in music whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@jughead12345678 Absolutely correct. I've seen him twice in the past three years and he DEFINES talent in a mostly talentless music industry.

I saw this live and this is what he does best, song after song live in person!!! there was nothing pre-recorded that I could hear or see, sitting right in the middle of the floor, hell I shook his hand....he is the real deal.

You are a knucklehead Velvet 4yah! What is the point of doing that. They may be using a harmonizer or something but do you really think he worries about sounding studio at this point? Hey, lets all go to a small bar and play backing tracks to songs that were popular 40 years ago. Silly!

Camp Darby Tirrenia / Pisa Italy - july 1970 ...starry night ... pines heady scent -this 45 vynil record
being played from a Juke Box - stirring music - unforgettable fragments of two teen agers .. neither of us could understand the lyrics and yet ...nothing was missing....
Even though life is not meant to be registered but lived and experienced , can't help retrieving all that listening to this song.

Excellent find! . Either that or the drummer wearing headphones is deaf?! Kind of a cheezy rendition of the original song anyway. Ha!
