Recently $2000 put into it new spark plugs, oil, fuel pump LOL ... 2k u can get a complete whole new engine for that.. I'm sure the previous owner lied. And oh ya the ac works but only blows what does thay mean? LOL great first truck u got there kid.
Sick truck man. I recently bought a red 94 F150 with the same engine but it's an automatic. Runs fantastically. And it was a hell of a deal for 400 bucks!
i love the ford i have but i kind had a wreck in it right after i got back from the mississippi i had just put a new gas tank on it gas filter change the oil spark plugs battery new side windows and new inside door handle i had some big mud tires on it good year wranglers. and the front left tire blew out all most hit a pole and totaled it. i miss my truck ive been looking for a nother one but cant find one.
@john6947aq keep looking dude, I'm sure you'll find one. Ford F150 was the best selling vehicle in the US for 24 years, and the best selling truck in the US for 34 years. There are a bunch out there, just a matter of finding the right one at the right time.
Thats the kind of truck I want...the 4.9L was a gas hog but it had good torque for towing. Reliable as everything...we use the 4.9 to power tugs and hydraulic pumps at the airport and that engine is bulletproof! Single Cab, 4.9L, straight shift, 4x4...just perfect! Hope you enjoy!
You must of drove a bad one. I have a 1995 F150 XL 4x4 with a M50D 5-speed, manuel hubs, standered cab long box and the best mileage I ever got was 22mpg highway.
Now thats 22mpg in 20 degree weather, 65mph, with oversized (for stock) 31x10.50 medalist mud kings, with 100,000 miles on the engine and 270,000 miles on the tranny. No tail wind. So because the odometer reads lower than actual miles it could of been getting over 22mpg.
You should take the stock gauges off, go to a junkyard and pull one with a tach on there like I did. Everything will PLUG right in. Thought this helps...
I've got a 1993 F-150 XL with 212500 on the body and tranny, 68000 on the motor. Looks so much like the F150 lightning only it to has a 4.9l v6. Its great and is serviving me well.
I'm going to go look at a 92 4x4 4.9l i6 5 speed manual. The truck has 114,000 miles on it and was in Connecticut. The front wheel well and hood have a lot of rust but everything works good. Do you think $2200 is a good price?
@johntrebec I recently bought a 95 model. Mine was in near perfect condition, with little to no rust, accessories, and a campertop, and I got mine for 1400.
Nice truck. Sounds like you got a good deal. Up here in Wisconsin thats a $2000 truck. Mine is the same year, same miles with 6x the rust and I still had to pay more than you!
Your idle screw is in a different place then my 302: Remove the plastic cover over/next to the throttle body. Under there should be a screw that is a throttle stop, it should be pretty obvious there is just a small metal plate that rests against the end of the screw. All you do is crank the screw in/out to adjust the idle.
not bad, but i dont think youll get much of anything, or at least anything noticable with one of them $100+ air filters that just take away the box. look at the tubes from the box to the throttle body, that is the problem with moving the air more freely. if i were you i'd make a custom intake, and use universal intake tubing from an autozone or somethin. then youll prolly get something noticable
I t looks good. Sounds healthy beside that power steering pump, no ticking or anything. Its normal for ford powersteering pumps to wine like that. The only way to fix it is replace it. But other than that great truck for only a grand.
Yeah i was wondering what that was. Yeah its full of liquid. I putting in an old flomasterm i in 2 out with tips pointing down to the ground. Im also getting new shocks from autozone for the rear
Nice truck yeah it almost just like mine except mines not 4X4. I got mine about two months ago its great the only thing wrong with it is one of the gas tanks doesnt work and it need new oil pan gaskets other than that the truck is great. I would make a video but my camera broke
if you still have your cat, you can do a straight pipe and dump it out the side or under the bed, but make sure you save everything in case you want to put it back on never heard of a thrush muffler
Killer truck man!! 1000 bucks is a wicked deal! Take care of her! I just got my first truck a few months ago. 1994 F150 with the 5.0 v8 and I love it

To change oil pan gasket: remove bolts from motor mounts, loosen trans mount bolts.
Cut semi-circle in the end of a 2X8 @ 16 in. long.
Put the straight end of 2X8 in the jack saddle.
Carefully raise the engine via. harmonic balancer, won't hurt it,and watch upstairs that nothing binds.
Place 2X4 or other shim material under motor mounts. Mounts stay attached to motor, obviously. loosen drained pan bolts and withdraw backwards.
