It is full touch. It's a different kind of touch from the iPhone. Full touch means the entire screen is touch and can be operated with touch. That it is. iPhone is capacitive touch, Nokia 5800 is resistive. Resistive requires you push two sheets together. Capacitive merely requires you disrupt an electrical field with your finger. Much more sensitive - and expensive/can't use a stylus.

There is styluses also for capacitive screens, some resistive screens are better than 5800 screen and it's not the screen what sucks in 5800 but it's the operating system what is 10-15 years old. Btw it's pretty clear that this phone in the video would have capacitive screen if Nokia ever makes it when they have finished Maemo operating system

i have Nokia 5800 and i am pretty dissapointed as for the screen..
It says FULL TOUCH screen and it's not.
It's something like vibration screen which means that u must use the stylus or something solid in order to touch it.
That's why i want to say to everyone who plans on buying a new smartphone with touchscreen to test something that will define if the screen is fully touch or not
"Check if with the phone comes a stylus.This means thatt the phone isn't full touch"
P.S iPhone's screen ROCKS !!

It is full touch. It's a different kind of touch from the iPhone. Full touch means the entire screen is touch and can be operated with touch. That it is. iPhone is capacitive touch, Nokia 5800 is resistive. Resistive requires you push two sheets together. Capacitive merely requires you disrupt an electrical field with your finger. Much more sensitive - and expensive/can't use a stylus.

Nokia 5800 IS full touchscreen but its resistive
iPhone IS full touchscreen too but its capasitice... and it reacts to fingers magnetic impulse. resistive reacts then thin membrane touches the screen

@konnos123 The phone is a touchscreen phone, but there is a difference of technology used, in 5800 - the technology used is restive touch screen technology, while in an iphone its capacitive, Nokia has capacitive touch screen phones aswell, try using them.

@konnos123 Sigh.. There are resistive and capacitive screens.. if phone comes or doesn't come with a stylus it doesn't mean that the screen sucks. There is styluses also for capacitive screens, some resistive screens are better than 5800 screen and it's not the screen what sucks in 5800 but it's the operating system what is 10-15 years old. Btw it's pretty clear that this phone in the video would have capacitive screen if Nokia ever makes it when they have finished Maemo operating system

@konnos123 The screen is full touch, because you can touch the whole screen and it will respond. If it said "capacitive" touch, then Nokia would be lying. But it doesn't. Maybe you should have looked into it before you purchased the 5800.
