Laptops are the worst possible choice if you want to promote that technology... A transparent laptop would be an awful product. Who would be comfortable with the fact that anyone passing in front of you can see what you're doing? Even if you don't have embarrassing stuff to hide, it's very annoying. Nobody likes that.

Wouldn't it be better to present such innovation on something you actually have a chance to sell one day instead of creating an object that people would hate to use?

Might be cool to have such screen for a desktop computer in your own private office or at home, but on a laptop where you work in private places, I think it is useless. Everyone can see what you are doing and that is annoying.
