@BoyPocketsJr Well that's the reason they don't like putting too much technology and driving assists in NASCAR, because it keeps the corners challenging. Even at a high banked track like this, once the surface gets heated up it gets slippery. Plus add in all the pack racing that goes on, which causes a lot of aero turbulence and it really magnifies the driving skill needed to get through the corners clean the whole race. In other forms of racing, they usually aren't cornering at 200MPH.
@erasetoimprove They are cornering at 200MPH if the corners are that BIG. Conrod Straight into the follow through, no banking, many laps the cars get through there at 3 cars abreast and thats ALL that will fit there. They go through there at about 195MPH. There are no crashes because "Professional" drivers known when to yeild and get the F*** out the way.
@BoyPocketsJr if you're talking about Formula 1, they are also driving lighter cars with superior suspension and with open wheel so there's no reason to do anything that could cause contact. I highly respect all forms of racing, road racing I respect a lot and oval racing I respect a lot...but having driven a stock car race car before I know what I am talking about and nobody is going to tell me it doesn't take skill. F1 drivers fail at oval racing all the time, takes more skill than they think
@erasetoimprove Yeah no... Conrod straight is on Bathurst... Talking about the V8 Super Cars... Which are a 2 tonn 650HP sedan. That is skilled racing.. Not doing around in an oval. Ive driven a sprint car (Not a stock car) around a dirt oval, with 550HP throwing it into reverse lock for each corner without any brake bias... Its really not that hard not to crash.
F1 is shit (At least new F1)... Old Formula One drivers, when they had H patterns... Now that was fucking awesome
2010 pepsi 400 "the big one", had an 18 car crash, 2010 Aarons 312 "the big one", had 22 cars, 2002 Aarons 312 had a 26 car crash, the 1960 daytona 500 had a 36 car crash.

Its not like the corners or track are complex... How the fuck does a "Professional" race car driver crash on an oval track?

Nascar drivers crash because they get tired.

@BoyPocketsJr any racing is "skilled". But I definitely agree F1 was epic up until the early 90s.
