I dont know how many times ive watched NOTLD with other people saying this same shit. "OH WHY ARE THEY DOING THAT I WOULD TOTALLY DO THIS" blah blah blah. It's funny because there's truth in the fact that it would be really easy to overcome the 'living dead' zombies, but at the same time just shut the fuck up and watch the goddamn movie. Good video.
"They are coming to get you, Barbra!" Johnny says this in a Boris Karloff accent. "They are coming for you!" The original 1968 movie has comedy in it. Then there is the comedy spoof of the U.S. military and government officials who are engaged in "plausible denial", the CIA schtick. My favorite line is: "They are dead... They are all messed up!" "Shoot 'em or burn 'em! They go up pretty easily!" "Another one for the fire!" The movie is chock full of comedy! There is a lot of satire as well.
@PresidentChiefer You are misconstruing my point. There is satire or black humor in the movie itself but I would not call it funny in the sense of gut-busting comedy. "They're coming to get you Barbra" is meant to be ironic. There is comedy but it is black comedy like Doctor Strangelove, more in the way of satire. The skit here in this video is just slapstick humor, nonsensical, and mindless. It is not appropriate for the subject matter of this movie which has its own, internal humor or satire.
@kingoma61 It's easy to misconstrue something on the internet. You're looking too much into it. Regardless of the nature and attributes of the film, you should still be able to appreciate this.
George A. Romero and John A. Russo, the screen writers, explain the nature of the "ghouls" in the movie. A NASA probe to Venus brings back high-level radiation to Earth. Recently deceased are re-animated due to this radiation. The radiation revitalizes lower brain function in the corpses. The way to kill the ghouls is by destroying the brain. Just follow the movie script. Night of the Living Dead is a horror movie, not a comedy. There is nothing funny about the movie.
For a real interview with the real Russell Streiner (Johnny), type into search: RQVOutdoorMoovies, then look for the "Night of the Living Dead Interviews"
Romero did change the landscape of what 'Zombies' were, and I could totally see people trying to figure out what these Zombies could do and not do. It really does sound lame when explained in simple terms.. at first, but with this classic film it has become a wonderfully scary genre of movie/tv/literature/videogames/etc making millions each year.

Good for a laugh. I wish they would avoid their *cough* clever *cough* marketing of it.
If you're looking for what they promise... it fails... but if you look at it as the sketch comedy bit that it is then it's not bad.
