@strawberry55074 Paul Rusesabagina said in a lecture that the film was "less violent" than the actual genocide, claiming that "you couldn't invite someone to watch the real thing."
Youtube shouldn't take down this movie. This movie is a must watch for people who didn't know the history.
For people who scold "Darshanadeep" who uploaded the movie by putting his name occasionally on the movie, I don't think this is such a big deal. He upload it so that we can watch. A lot of arseholes make you click in the video by putting a single picture of a movie and tell you to go to their websites, this is 10000 times more annoying.
@strawberry55074 If it is to touch ppls heart around the world due to something as massive and disrespectful as this event, i would indeed. I don't know about you.
Tatiana Rusesabagina was not in fact angry about Paul putting her and her children on a truck to escape the Hôtel des Mille Collines but was instead sad about the decision—which she nevertheless accepted due to the circumstances. Paul did not make his decision at the last moment, but rather he discussed the matter with Tatiana and the children the night before they attempted the evacuation
lol - I'M only thinking of myself? You're the one who can't be inconvinienced by the suffering of others.
That would be a pretty big honor to have a film made about me. If my death were worthy of making a movie about it must be for an important cause or I will have become a pretty significant person by then, lol. I hope I go out like Braveheart - yelling "FREEDOM!!!!" Or at least to a montage with good music.
The world at large did refuse to help, save for a handful of individuals who tried otherwise. Did you know the US had the ability to jamp the Hutu radio communications via satellite but didn't?
Youre a naive little crybaby. This film is meant to tell the stories of the victims of the Rwandan Genocide. They never got to tell it themselves. The world refused to help them. The very least you can do is hear their story.
How are the Teletubby vids? You're not offended by Tinky Winky's purse are you?
So you're happy as long as innocent people are being butchered but you don't have to see it? Wow...
Just because you turn a blind eye doesn't mean things stop happening. Things like this are happening in other places around the world right now as we speak.
If you can't handle this movie, why are you watching? Go watch some Disney films. Oh wait, sometimes those are violent too. I'll send you some Teletubby vids, k?
What is wrong with you? How else can you prove innocent people are being murdered without things like footage? You sound disgustingly naive and ignorant. Want to put their bodies on slabs and parade them? Or use poetic non-violent g-rated words to describe the violence? Would that make you happy?
@strawberry55074 How can you say that this movie should not have been created? Are you in turn saying that movies about the Holocaust should not have been created? Or that war (or war movies) should be censored? Well war is not censored and is as brutal as this and many other movies portray it to be. There is no such thing as a nice war. This movie was brilliant in that it did show the complete brutality of many and the sheer heroism of few. Watch Joyeux Noël if you cant handle this movie.
@ilikeshoesbetch Pau Rusesabagina himself said that even the movie doesn't portray the complete devastation and brutality of it, but like you said, people need to see it. it's something people need to face.
@AppleOfTheGrapeVine I definitely agree. And for some of the atrocities it is completely understandable why they did not show them. Because they are so horrific. I would change my words to say "the brutality" or "a brutality" rather then "the complete brutality."
@ilikeshoesbetch It's shocking that not many people have heard about any of this let alone Paul's bravery and selflessness, this sort of thing should be shown to more people so people get more perspective...
@AppleOfTheGrapeVine i agree. unfortunately everything has to be politically correct or censored now. When i first saw this film we had to get signed permission saying we could watch it. And then when we started learning about the Israeli Palestnian conflict, all we heard about was how great Yassir Erafat was and how sad it was for all the poor Palestnians. No word was said about the Israelis.Infact they were made out to be the bad guys.People need to stop censoring and being politicallycorrect.

@villalba874 Your an idiot. The West is all the civilized countries that are powerful and know how to run countries, such as the British, Canadians and Yanks. Blacks on the other hand just want to rape pillage and plunder.
@90rashad When extreme poverty arises so do crazy leaders and their beliefs. The West has them to White Supremacists, Communists, Anarchists, Fundamentalists but since all is well no of them get very far. If poverty goes extreme like say....Germany during the Great Depression crazies take center stage because of desperate people who want to solve the problem, or at least find someone to blame. Lac of education makes it worse. Don't blame Africans give 10 years it could happen anywhere even USA.
The death rate was about 800,000 in 10 days. It is such a cruel world out there. It should be called Genocide because of the many deaths per day. It wasn't no Holocaust, but it's still very cruel and scary. This war is STILL going on to this day.

@JacobBlackFan500 While the death rate of the Rwandan genocide was horrendously high, it wasn't quite as steep as 800,000 in 10 days. 800,000 killed in 100 days is more like it. Once again ignorant fools blame all of Africa's failings on the phantom of "colonialism" as if that were the sole cause of Africa's Ills. Only historically illiterate, uneducated people make this claim. African tribes have long attacked and killed each other for thousands of years prior to any foriegn invaders.
@mya321 almost all of africas conflicts are caused by boundries set by eroupean powers, and these conflicts mostly only pleague central and south Africa due to extreme poverty. so colonianlism is a major factor. I think it is you who is an uneducated illiterate
@LordMalice6d9 You are so knowledgeable that you call people that you don't know fools. If only you read and understood my comment you would not take part of it out of context just to show that you've had couple history courses on the matter..my point since you could not get it was that this situation is not about the people of Africa but Rwanda...people like you tend to put millions of people in the same basket...you should not! even if you consider yourself better than the illeterates.
this whole movie is a very sad and maddening movie together how could people be so cruel how could we america home of the free not help out this country how could no other country help them out we are one world meaning we are one people we should be there for eachother and not treat others like dirt for the way they are this is why our world is such a terrible place to live in
Oh my god, I love this movie. You would think that something as horrible as this would have happened a LONG time ago, but no. It happened only 15 years ago.
nah, when the lady goes to get the other kids from the orphanage and talks about how the hutus were already their killing the little kids was the saddest part.

@mrwazzy333 except not really....since they don't die....
ilikeshoesbetch 11 months ago
@mrwazzy333 It wouldn't be based on a true story if they died. The only voice for the dead are those that are living.

@ilikeshoesbetch And it's the better way to die, too! Makes it even more sad! :((
