What I would pay to see those episodes when they came out the first time in the 90's! Effectively I saw them but I was just a child. Now I can say : incredible series ...
Mark Snow is a genius. Period. Never has anyone composed music for TV series as incredible, as he has. Well, in my opinion at least. Though Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica OST was spectacular as well. A well deserved, very close second :-)
Lance Henriksen has said that different executive producers for each season throughout the series was the reason for the different quality of the three seasons of the show. Seasons 1 and 2 were the best. He and series creator Chris Carter have been in talks of doing a movie about Frank Black. I never watched Harsh Realm. It was my way of getting even with Carter for basically pissing away Millennium. I hope there is a movie.
I loved that wonderful Crime/Drama/Mystery TV show. Lance Henriksen was brilliant. The 90's had so many awesome TV shows - this one, La Femme Nikita, The X Files, ER, Acapulco H.E.A.T., Walker Texas Ranger, RoboCop The Series, F/X, L.A. Heat, Spy Game, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Pretender, Babylon 5, Lexx, Earth Final Conflict, TekWar, MK Conquest, Soldier of Fortune Inc, Dark Skies, Amazon, SeaQuest, Xena, Farscape, Baywatch, Renegade, Melrose Place, Highlander...
Lance Henriksen has a facebook page that he personally responds to. There is also a page called Back to Frank Black Campaign on Facebook (and backtofrankblack (dot) com ) that is attempting to get a film made to answer questions. Check it out and from our page, you can find Lance Henriksen's page. He takes time to talk to everyone who posts there. He is truly one of a kind!
The combo of talent that went into MIllennium is almost beyond compare. Suffice to say you don't often find such a rich blend of imaginative people, from the incomparable Lance Henrickson to the achingly brillient Mark Snow...I could go on, listing every actor featured, but I won't....just go out and buy the three box sets of seasons 1-3. See the brilliance yourself.
I remember this episode... Through out the entire ep, I knew something big would happen (I didn't know it was the season finale)... Finally the airport scene... so ominous. This music is what told us ..."now... it happens now..."
Poor herioc, epic Frank Black. His hair gets grayer and grayer as the series goes on as he takes the worries of an entire world on his shoulders.
wow, awesome, epic, and so wonderfull!!! i watch this show mostly beacuse of the soundtrack. lets say the music has 70% awesomenes, and the show has 30%.
Since the average viewer have the mental capabilities of a retarded slug, shows that require any form of intelligence are of the air. This is also true for the "news" nowadays.
Couldn't agree more - I think this was way ahead of it's time and the masses couldn't connect. So NBC dumbed it down and made "medium" and people loved it, lol so sad.
@gonlaz Are you reffering to season 3 being dumbed down to medium ...or to the shows we have today? Because season 3 of Millennium was actually very good.
The episodes "Through a glass, darkly", "Borrowed Time", "The Sound of Snow", "Darwin's Eye", "Bardo Thodol" were actually brilliant episodes!
No I was referring to the SHOW "Medium" - my point was that I could see how NBC took many elements of Millennium and incorporated them into a "dumb" version of the show and called it "medium". Millennium is by far my favorite show and one of the best ever written - all seasons
@gonlaz Sorry, I misunderstood you! YES, IT'S TRUE, many of today's shows, actually, borrow heavely from The X Files, Millennium, Twin Peaks...! But the way they elements are presented are done in such a way that seems to show that people don't get it unless is cheezy, over the top, bombastic and brainless!
Millennium was way ahead of it's time, one of my favorites!
Before Terry O'Quinn was a big star on Lost, he was a star in the Millennium series. Too bad television has gone down the preverbal shit-drain.
