I'm stuck between Mark V and Dual Rectifier. I like to play metal and mostly Metallica. So which is better for playing the Master of Puppets stuff? I know they used Mark IIC+ back then, but is there a lot difference between Mark and Rectifier? I don't have money for Mark V. I have a Marshall JCM800, but it's not going anywhere :) And can I get Mark sounds through my Marshall if I just buy a Triaxis? Like, is it the same that I would buy a Mark?

A shitload of gain by just pushing "The Beast"- button down. Only few hundred of them are made on the world. I really want a Mesa Boogie.

@Sweet4652 Hey man, I'd say the benefit of owning the Mark over the Recto would be cleaner stuff. If you're just using mostly the gain side of things, I think you would be paying alot for stuff that you wouldn't be using as much. Find a used Dual or Single Recto head for less then half the price (I've owned a Stiletto, F series, Express, Triple Rect...) Message me if you talk! Good luck!

@Sweet4652 yeah, I agree with ryensmith, the recto was used by Metallica on the self titled album. Im lookin for a new head and keep going back to Mesa. But I think i'll get a Roadster this time around. Also, if you don't like the head you can sell it for what you paid for it (if you buy used) because they hold their value better than any amp maker.

@pkerlover Boogies were popularized by Carlos Santana in 1969, he was the main popular user of them at the time and guess what he was playing? Jazzy, ethno-blues. Metalheads didn't start grabbing boogies until Metallica started using them in 1985/86. Even still Mesa's aren't too hot with Metalheads these days--most of those guys are all 6505, Diezel and Engl users.

I was sad, man because I too knocked the Rec, it got to be a cliche. I actually tried one one day and I was like, "Why would anyone wanna give this up?!" Metal heads are prone to following trends too. The 6505's popularity is a HUGE testament of that.

Ich denk es ist ne Frage des Settings. Für nen Metalsound müsste man den Presence-regler noch etwas runterregeln und wahrscheinlich hat er (auf der Rückseite) den Kanal 3 auf Triode laufen. Die Pentode-schaltung ist um einiges deftiger^^

Trotzdem hammer geiler Sound und geile Demo!!
