The point is, especially in Judges, that God's chosen people chose to reject God and that Israel decayed greatly in sin. The bible does not condone sin, it shows sin for what it is. When the amakalites were killed, it wasnt genocide - they were killed in battle. And Leviticus's account of slavery was the law of the land, not the word of God. The point is, especially in Judges, that God's chosen people chose to reject God and that Israel decayed greatly in sin. The bible does not condone sin, it shows sin for what it is. When the amakalites were killed, it wasnt genocide - they were killed in battle. And Leviticus's account of slavery was the law of the land, not the word of God. There was also the "Year of Jubilee" where the Jews were required to free their slaves, this occurred every 10 years I think, not quite sure. And what is slavery anyway? We are either slaves to sin, doing the devils will. Or slaves to Christ, protected, forgiven, and doing his will through faith.

The NIV uses the word “youths.” Second, the fact that the bears mauled 42 of the youths indicates that there were more than 42 youths involved. This was not a small group of children making fun of a bald man. It was a large demonstration of young men who assembled for the purpose of mocking God's prophet.

@akrelle Faith is important. If you deny them the Christian faith then you are denying of the driving forces of Western prosperity. Science and math and good theology are not exclusive. You would not even have modern "science" if not for Bible believers like Sir Isaac Newton and many others.

@WorshipInTruth Faith is the most overrated of the human virtues. Religion is a vehicle of manipulation and devalues humanities true achievements. Why does God get credit for protecting this girl? She is an amazing girl who went thru extremely inhumane treatment but has landed on her feet. To think she couldn't have done it without God is extremely demeaning to her and you should be ashamed. Religion only slows science. Can you imagine where we'd be if Giordano Bruno wasn't burnt at the stake?

Wow. We serve an amazing God.
We must keep in prayer the missionaries and non-believers and persecuted Christians.
There are so many people all around the world whose stories we may never hear-- the silenced martyrs and their children. These are people we must pray for and in our own lives aspire to be more Christ like.

The only traitor I was to was my Lord Jesus but he has forgiven me. Although I love Korea, I have never sworn allegiance to it. Sorry, I am not a traitor to Korea. In fact I hope I can go to North Korea to be a vessel of God to free the lost there. I'm not an advocate for Democracy or for Socialism, why should I when these will all pass away. God willing, I will live for something that is eternal.
