I have tried this before but it just broke the 78 cartridge and everything went green.... I am not going to do that again as also made a right mess of my hand. Note to self when handling ink wear disposable gloves! 0:43 looks like an important colour note! Yellow red blue as you can tell from the ink left on the nozzle ;-) Still dont know why it broke and went green though...
so you do puncture the sponge but dont push the needle too far in to the sponge. i did it without puncturing the sponge, just placing the ink on top of it, didnt work.
do you have to pierce the sponge inside??? I pierced it and after I had finished refilling it wouldn't stop dripping from the head part and had to get rid of the cartridge.
@a1be2 If you push the needles down too far(after you start feeling strong resistance) you will push the needles through the sponge and down into the filter. If you puncture the filter, the problem you were experiencing will happen.
@0051chris Hp is the best. More durable cartridges compared with canon and hp printers dont need resetting. Canon needs a reset after a certain number of page + a reset on its cartridge as well if u prefer refilling it. With HP, it is economical and effective and efficient. User friendly.
Well done expert village, you've told us it wrong again. For those of you who dont know, if you fill the hp tri-colour 23, in the way that is shown, it will not work. You need to put the needle in 85mm for the yellow and cyan to work, and 80mm for the magenta, any more than 80mm for the magenta and it will tear a hole in the filter mesh.
You push in those tabs for the first older style cartridge. Those tabs allow air in through small canals in the tabs, and then you seal those tabs so no air can get in. So how does air get in so that ink can get out? One problem I find is that ink gets heavy and globby at the bottom of the cartdridge, just above the print head, this can cause printing problems.
Thanks for the video. By the way, I absolutely have nooo problem with my HP. Still I know that there are other wonderful printers out there as well. So more power to you.
The trick is to "top off" the cartridges each week rather than refilling them when they become empty. Otherwise, fill them as soon as you get a message that the ink is running low. Topping-off avoids the problems of refilling and extends the life of the cartridge.
I buy 4 of the 125 ml bottles of ink for my HP cartridge on e bay for $20 + postage and get 25 refills.
Put pin hole in the top of the cap with a hot needle and use it to draw up ink. Put tape over the hole.
I have refilled the inks of the F2200 and they worked ok but now my printer wont accept the latest refill and all I get is flashing lights and the big E.
HP is a total rip off on the cartridges. Refilling the HP cart. sometimes works, most of the time doesn't. Leaking, smear, bad printing all the time. Never buy a HP printer, you will be much better off to get a Canon or a Epson printer with separate cartridges which cost a lot less in the long run, both time and money. You can buy Canon or Epson black and color cartridges online for about $1.50 each!!!
Hi Thank you for the great video. I have a question. i did what you did I think and I did a cleaning test at the end however I don't think my computer understands that there is ink now. It printed out the cleaning page with all the colors however the yellow doesn't show and I know I put yellow in it.
i just bought an HP Deskjet F 2280, and the colour cartridege does have tricolour written on it, like in your video here. what i wanted to ask you is, when i installed the new cartridges of my new printer, i discarded the foil tape. would it be alright to use regular sellotape, to re seal it.
Thanks for sharing this great video, I really enjoyed the insign you bring to the topic, awesome stuff!

1) Hold your breath.
2) Copy all of these steps.
3) Go to two other video.
4) Paste it in the comments.
If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoker

It's the best way to save money.
I"m HP's printer user.
I like this clip.
It's can use with my printer (HP AOL F300), It use HP 21 black and HP 22 color cartrige.
I buy refill ink with 3$ and can use more than a year.

I found out if the cartridge is too old it won't work after you refill it. after a period of years the ink turns into a thick goop.
