@danschaoticmind when was a movie or clip ever produced that showed a mission control cheering a launch/landing involving an Orbiter? Every manned spaceflight did not end like the dramatization of Apollo 13.

@Erik0072 STS-1, got actual attention for the unusual call of "Once wheels touch the ground you will have 30 seconds to have an emotional outburst then I want this room quiet" Once wheels touched the ground there was cheering and applause for precisely 30 seconds then it was back to work. Also movie wise you have space cowboys. Oh, and a few Hubble missions got the light applause effect but little more.
