@DarklingX perhaps, but the government certainly hasn't done much in terms of keeping jobs from going overseas, yes, better environmental standards will cost more, but if all making companies cleaner does is force them overseas, the government needs to step in an put a tax or something on that so it doesn't happen.
You don't have to abolish capitalism to achieve improved environmental standards. You just have to give it an incentive. Or in the case of whats happening right now. A penalty for not meeting enviromental standards.

Will being an environmentalist was the thing and to a lessor extent anti-war, there was a huge difference between the young in cities and those in small towns/rural areas. We were already environmentalist without the title, we cared about hunting/fishing/hiking outdoors more than our city cousins. Commies were not good and politicians fighting the war with rules was more the problem than war itself. But the MSM played it like those scenes shown.
