  • People say friends don't destroy one another, what do they know about friends?

  • Thank you john green <3

  • DFTBA, everyone.

  • 3 beers deep, and two white russians. best line in this video, even with the song

  • Shadows crawled across the living rooms length, I held onto you with a desperate strength, with everything, with everything in me. I fuckin love you John. All time fav, singer/song writer. "Maybe everything that falls down, eventually rises."

  • Thumbs up if the epigrams to Paper Towns brought you here.

  • when he talks i think of mitch hedberg. this song is amazing. go nerdfighters!!!

  • "People say friends don't destroy one another. What do they know about friends?" perfect line.

  • PPH's harms are totally sweet <3

  • Now, Ive seen many many many performances.... But I've got to admit, that THIS has to be one john and peters pinnacle performances. they..... felt the FUCK out of this, to say the very least.

  • Found this through Paper Towns.Nerdfighters ftw

  • How much of life is just this: description? What does it mean?

  • I really don't know. This has those open-mic feel to it. The crowed is a creature. They devour anything. I guess, I am more of a modernist. I like experiments...

  • What kind of person can actually thumb down this?

  • I don't know why but he almost reminds me of Mitch Hedberg. Weird, right?

  • I wonder if John is a Warren Zevon fan. If you like this, you should check out Zevon, he's good music.

  • I Smoke Newports!!!

  • ive never listened to him before. but ive always heard he's good

  • (i know what ya mean. he always struck me as british but he's from arizona) John is the hands-down KING of onstage banter. hears to you, TMG!

  • @uzername91PUNx I concur. Although, Ted Leo can be kinda fun.

  • @fernloft correction. he's from Cali

  • @uzername91PUNx He's not from Arizona, he's from the Inland Empire, east of California. At least as far as I know.

  • @uzername91PUNx not from arizona

  • @uzername91PUNx born in bloomington IN. although im sure hes been kind of eveywhere, I dont know how much relevance AZ has.

  • is John British?

  • @melyell69 nope

  • @fernloft He is of the Hoosier persuasion by birth but these things fade. It is doubtful he remembers the secret handshake.

  • @melyell69 FROM N.C

  • @melyell69 FROM N.C

  • @melyell69

LOL! Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. He's not at all British but I think it may be the complex way he phrases sentences that might make you think that.

  • @melyell69 No. He's an American. He's from near to the Inland Empire in Southern California.

  • Oooh! This is a fantastic performance. I adore the way the mood changes and is sung with more urgency and venom from "Carried you up the stairs that night" to "Ah, but look at this showroom filled with fabulous prizes".

It's a crazy good example of the album as a whole, capturing the sad desperate want to fix what's broken, as well as the frustration and anger at the strong possiblity that it probably can't be.

    It's fantastic.

  • I'm really glad you like it. I'll have to use better sound equipment in the future.

  • People say friends don't destroy each other, what do they know about friends! My favorite line.

  • Mine too. two amazingly awesome people, playing a great song side-by-side. where can you go wrong?

  • I love the exposition and the crowd singing along :D

And, of course, John's facial expressions and Peter looking all spiffy!

  • Listening to the mountain goats helps me deal with every tough element of this life.I'm currently drunk on bacardi and coke, jobless and unable to go to a party tonight because I owe someone £80 tomorrow which I don't have. But damn, John Darnielle can cheer anyone up.
