  • I have a severe insomnia I cant get to sleep until like 3am I'm 15 I always get worried at about 10 pm cos I go to bed at 12am to actually make my body tired enough to get to sleep. When I get worried it starts then, my question is how do I stop the worrying and prevent my insomnia?

  • @Marklynx01

Learn a simple breathing exercise that prevents anxiety and helps to fall asleep fast. It is on the main website.

  • am i the only one who is thinking about FPSRussia?

  • I sleep less than two hours a night, and feel even better when I sleep 9 hours. Its a sleeping program called Polyphasic Sleep, Look it up. I am doing the Dymaxion Sleep schedule, and I write about it. If you want to read about my experience, go ahead.

  • @Anythingwilldo0000 shut up

  • it is very hard to understand.....it is yiour heavy accent................keep up the good work

  • i dont think i understood how the breath this can be dealed with i mean how to move from the 15 sec to the 30 sec is it doable ?

  • I heard that once we sleep longer then 7.5 hour we will feel even more tire when we awake.

  • @jj987987987

With about 10 s for the body oxygen test, I used to sleep about 10 hours and with less sleep I would feel worse. With more than 40 s for the morning test, I cannot sleep more than 4.5 hours, even if I try.

  • @artour2006 I have meet someone who sleeps only 2 hour with eyes open and sitting straight while sleeping...which is really creepy...but he said when you want to sleep you need to give your brain a clear order "I want to sleep!!" and while sleeping you needs get used to abdominal breathing which increase 30% of inhale oxygen with your eyes closed of course. I'm still trying, but it only helps me to decrease from 8 hour to 7, maybe his method doesn't work for normal human....

  • Eat raw foods, do yoga, and live passionately and you will need less sleep. Based on my research, the more relaxed you are, the more your brain will resemble delta waves which is when your asleep, so alpha and theta are an ideal state to be in when you are awake!

  • Too tired to understand what he is saying but he does have a pretty smart idea behind this whole sleep thing

... Soooooo tired and I have to wake up in less than 5 hours...

  • @zach112393

Of course. There are several web pages directly related to sleep, including "Sleep Heavy Breathing Effect" - It explains why the severely sick are most likely to die in the early morning hours; "Quality of Sleep and Breathing" - with more details about sleep duration and breathing; "Best Sleep Postures" with medical review of clinical research; "Good Sleep Hygiene" - with practical ideas for better sleep. Success.

  • so athletic people need less sleep because they take smaller breaths, right?

Interesting i always see the "teens need more sleep than adults 7-8hours, " blah blah but this shatters everything, it all depends on HOW you breath vs how much sleep you're getting. Interesting PS. tell me everything im wrong about :)

  • @godminete

Surely requirements in sleep depend on age (the newborn sleep for about 20-21 hours). Taking smaller breath may not work since breathing should be diaphragmatic, regular and slow (I am talking about changes in automatic breathing patterns). If you find the Buteyko Table of Health Zones, you will find answers to breathing and sleep as well.

  • Over 250 web pages: normalbreathing(dot)com

  • This is a fantastic Information and I love what you are teaching, I will be truly grateful of you if you help me sleep less and still be inspired whole day. thank you

  • @AbdulRButt

The main site NormalBreathing (dot) com has all info

  • I would like to see a reference for your statement that people slept only 5 hours 100 years ago. After all, long ago there was no electric lighting--and must less reason to stay awake late into the night.

I would find it more believable that they slept 10 hours!

Otherwise, I have no disagreement with Buteyko's theories or exercises.

  • @GetMeThere1

"...Later, when the breathing is corrected, sleep becomes less than the norm. It reduces itself. It gets deeper and deeper. This alarms many patients, “Previously, I was sleeping for 8 hours and it was not enough, but now I sleep 4 hours and get enough”. Yes, it is possible to get enough sleep in 4 hours with very light breathing." Buteyko Lecture in Moscow University
