@Mikencz here is how you get good at 3d: Modelling, unwrapping, texturing, rigging, dynamics and simulation, particle effects, lighting, mental ray, scripting.
I named 9 categories. If you are 14 and you do one tutorial in each of those categories everyday (or whenever you are bored), you will learn how 3d works. You will slowly understand how the software "thinks". that is the only way to learn.
@Mikencz Motionbuilder was used heavily in the production of Avatar to link the motion capture data directly to the models in real time. Basically, a program like Vicon Blade feeds the data into Motion Builder, where it is converted to into rotational information (to it can be transfered into Maya in the form of an animated FK skeleton, probably in .FBX format.)
