My boyfriend is a tricker, but I have been having a really hard time finding a place in the tricking community. I'm a gymnast, so I'm used to a different style of kicks and flips. The guys also have a hard time understanding that my center of balance is different, etc. Any advice as to how I can find a way to get plugged into some more helpful pipelines as a female tricker?
@Zyklowa don't quote me on this, but I think Steve Tereda and Mindy Kelly has trained together. I've seen a few clips of both at the same place. I've even seen a clip of Mindy and Caity together.

As with anything, it all comes down to natural ability and ur dedication. If you're athletic n apply yourself, yeah, u can. U just have to study it harder because u don't have that initial knowledge. Most trickers get into it via martial arts or gymnastics, n have people there to teach em. I started out with parkour by myself, n now I'm branchin into tricking n martial arts. It took a lot of youtubing n googling to get to where I am. Don't believe the naysayers. I believe in ya ;D
Most of these girls have a coached gymnastics background and are skoold and taught by guys that can already do the moves in tricking/dance, so as a self taught backyard tricker im not impressed.
I know of gemma nguygen through loopkicks and the martial arts circuit and I thought she was a good girl tricker because of her martial arts kicking ability which again all stems from good flexability.
@trulgn - I hear ya. But when it comes down to it, I think it doesn't matter. Whether you were trained since you were 2 years old, or you just learned it 2 months ago, if you can pull off these moves, then hats off to ya. It'll probably be a few years till I can do my own sampler.
@ego1oge I watched jolene tran's and mckennsie emory's samplers videos and well i would like to say althouigh what i said b4 is true girl trickers do make a big effort never the les mckenns has a gymnastics background but damn does she work hard, jolene as far as i can tell doesnt have a background in gymnastics as i deduced by the moves that she does mainly kicks and things that dont flip back over her head and she is really good i think she may be the first female tricker to do a snapuswipe!
@JRtitanicful Hey I was just saying something that should be common to (most male) back yard trickers and that is that girls are seen as amazing because they can do tricks even though they've been training in a gymnasium since young and have been taught thats all.

@trulgn Actually, from my personal observation, most trickers get into it via martial arts or gymnastics, n have people there to teach em. They branch into tricking or parkour or martial arts or gymnastics from said talents they possess from other branches. So technically, most human trickers (male and female alike) branch into tricking. Just like females have a gymnastics or martial arts backgrounds, most males also have some bakcground to support them. You're the exception not the rule.

Can i just say chill out a bit please i dont want a confrontation i hold no problem with girls/females tricking, i encourage it, originally i was making the creator of the video aware of a situation.
Me and about 6 other guys experienced a situation when we went to a gym which was ur not as good as us because u are guys and because u havent been taught the techniques of gymnastics we werent flexiable therefore we were seena as crap.
@trulgn well that gym is messed up and ignorant because it is not a rule engraved in stone that guys can't be as flexible as girls if they wanted to, i have seen many guys do spilts and further their legs apart more than 180 degrees... anywho, tricking is not about where u come from, its about how well u dedicate urself to tricking and proving urself capable in that art; all in all, i look forward to watching the video

(my video) it took about 30minutes to import and add effects in movie maker. would like some comments as i was working with a cheat side kick setup thing that i havent seen been used before it may interest some people to watch it btw its on blaky's page.

Well, I still stand by my statement, but its obviously not backed by research. If you have the background, things will come easier and smoother.
