A. Vivaldi. 1. Gloria in excelsis.

  • My brother heard a woman on a bus say, as the bus passed a church with a Crib outside it, “Oh, Lord! They bring religion into everything! Look - they’re dragging it even into Christmas now!” - C.S. Lewis

  • @lilly13smile I wish it would go higher then E for 1st soprano....

  • Is this an organ concert?? Why the continuo is so loud???

  • I sang this in seventh grade choir this year. I'm in the advanced choral group. You should look up Senior Wave Chorale from Manhattan Beach Middle School. I swear it's really good. And this is really beautiful.

  • Im doing this song in my choir and i am a soprano. It is so much fun to sing! Great song

  • @allotts00 ......Do u live in florida?

  • @BeyCraze1234 no i live in tennessee

  • It depends on what your teacher thinks.

my opinion is to do it like this, because it often times saves my breath.

  • im soprano in my highschool choir and were supposed to sing this. but were singing it so much differently. the 'Gloria' is held longer and its driving me crazy that i cant find any other choir that holds it longer.... is this the way its supposed to be?????

  • lol...

  • belíssima! um forte sentimento por este clássico : }

  • @frutilie Gorgeous comment....fully applaud.

  • @ronninj tks! :)

  • A great piece of music composed by a great musician. Although the choir, organ, orchestra and conductor did a good job, the music dragged a little and the organ was too "heavy". There was not much energy either.

  • THe conductor is great he keeps everyone focused on the choir and instruments instead of himself but the choir seems to sing at some points without energy and a little to "straight" or without vibrato

  • Grazie Vivaldi!!!!

  • Eles estão cantando em câmera lenta? Gostei da tossida no meio da apresentação!!!!! Rsrsrsrsrsrs....

  • Epic baritones. The Latin was pretty well done as well.

  • go view new video on youtube link= WE RUN THINGS BY GOLDIE

  • dxcgf

  • Muy bello

  • è in do...nn in re questa versione

  • Played beautifully

It's like, I drifted off into a cloud of music haha

It's slow, certainly, but that doesn't hurt it at all, if anything it makes i better

but I hope somebody shot whoever it was that coughed.

  • Hey! Shut up! No coughing during the performance! Moron. Nice performance. Thanks for sharing.

  • @sosome57 I agree. If you have a cold or smokers cough STAY THE F HOME!

  • musica ecoro interpretazione eccelsa

  • ADRA-Seventh-day Adventist Church affiliated choir?

  • @maestrojec Yes

  • Comment removed

  • @maestrojec Was this at Loma Linda University Church?

  • A little pedestrian for my taste

  • que buena tos, toma neumosan.

  • I was able to perform this piece way back in high school. This is beautiful ... thank you for sharing.

  • LOOK !!!! It's ADRA the Adventist Disaster Relief Agency!!!! What a great organization!!! over 90% of its donations goes directly to assist the needy!

    ;0)

  • no me jodas tio esa no es gloria!! tas pan!

  • Excellent performance of choir and its conductor Peter Dimitrov ! Thanks for your video

  • I love the visible swell boxes

  • Marvellous!!!!!!!!

  • Is lower than the original? Is in a special pitch? Somebody can explain me?

  • i remember that song from high school!! we performed it... but this is beautifully beautiful.. jijiji

  • wow this is really good!!

  • wonderfull version!! (n_____________n)

  • esecuzione troppo lenta rispetto al testo dello spartito!!!

  • This is not right. They perform it in C-major, and original is D-major. However i was once part of 200+ ppl choir and symphonic orcestra, and we performed Gloria. Imagine it with 200+ singers... abslolutely brilliant....

  • It sounds better in C-Major.

  • @flamechari1 Eh, I dunno... With this song, D-Major sounds a lot brighter and more joyous than C-Major

  • you beat us , we were going to do it with only about 150 D:

  • @LetnjaDuhovna That must have been awesome! My choir is joining a few other choirs, so we'll be roughly 200 strong, and we're performing the Gloria at Carnagie Hall in about two weeks! I can't wait to hear how it sounds with that many people!!!

  • @CharlieBladeRemus *Carnegie :P

  • *Carnegie :P

  • @CharlieBladeRemus My daughters chorus will be at Carnegie singing in two weeks too! Her choir is coming from Vero Beach. Yours?

  • @lilsterbear My choir is coming from Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. We're singing on April 26!

  • This piece reminds me of university. We performed it.

    Maravilloso.

  • Either way (more slowly or fast), it is a beautiful piece of music....and by the way, foobroler0, this is a PROFESSIONAL group not a group of school kids. As far as the Latin goes, it is very near perfect Vanchoir.

  • entirely too slow

  • perfeito essa apresentação bravo bravíssimo

  • The tempo is correct I think, first heard this performed by the London Philharmonic and fell in love with it, Perfect!

  • Are you kidding!?!! This is insane slow compared to the normal speed. This feels like andante. Its meant to be played allegro. Ive played it allegro, its insane

  • Sounds a lot better than when we had to sing it last year, the teacher had changed up the music quite a bit.

  • Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Et in terra pax (again).

This is another rendition, but I love it, even more than the original one (faster)

  • we have a different ver :P

  • I love the opening it sounds so happy and playful.

  • I sang this in choir

  • me too

  • @hawkstar569 As did I, in the days where I was still a soprano... which was a few years back but...

  • @hawkstar569 Im singing this for school spring concert

  • I really like this Masterpiece,

    no doubt about it:

    Vivaldi= genius!

    GLORIA IN EXCELCIS DEO!

  • I agree, it could be a little bit faster

  • Quite!!! This should be much, much faster. On the other hand, it is a live performance; acustical problems and other sounds difficulties may have dictated this uncelebratory speed....

  • This should be much, much faster ??? Quién lo dice ? Dónde está escrito ?

  • If you want faster, listen to this one

Vivaldi: Gloria (RV 589) user: OedipusColoneus

  • I'm singing this piece with my choir soon....

  • This orchestra is WAY to big for baroque music

  • Because this music is meant to be played with a choir....it requires an orchestra of a decent size. Their sections are massively reduced here. Most violin sections number about 10-15 to each section and 20-30 altogether. Here you only have the first 2 desks of each section. Also this is NOT chamber music, small is not key here.

  • It could stand to go just a little faster, but not too much, this is almost the perfect tempo. Very good.

  • Why is it in C instead of D? lol

  • i'm wondering the same thing

  • I'm asking myself the same question - maybe it was because of the choir's or the instruments' range or something... but it doesn't sound quite the same as in D.

  • It's in C to piss off the violins so have to come up with new fingerings and relearning something they've probally already played before. Also things in C are easier for choirs to learn =-(.

  • i know... we had to play this for our school and we learned it in the original key, and then in like a week we had to learn the new part and fingerings. it was ridiculous.

  • Is this in belgium?

  • No, it is in Sofia, Bulgaria.

  • @lilly13smile east-block sound quality

  • wow! worth the 5 stars!

  • Superb !

    Beautiful.

  • Why does it seem that it was played slow because the instrumentalists couldn't play the fast version haha.

  • Good Luck! :)

  • my select choir is doing this same exact song!

    i cant wait!

    its really a great song.

  • May I ask what ADRA is doing in that poster?

  • ADRA was one of the sponsors.

  • Interesting. What event was that exactly?

  • @lilly13smile what's ADRA?

  • @gre8 The Adventist Development and Relief Agency) es la rama humanitaria mundial de la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, establecida con el propósito específico de desarrollar económica y socialmente comunidades desfavorecidas y ayudar a paliar efectos de desastres

  • a bit slow, but overall, excellent :)

  • my orchrestra is playing this and were middle schoolers

  • its probably a easier version.

  • dude yea okay, i remember learning how to play this as a freshmen in highschool, and this song is harder than almost all highschool and middleschool piece. (i've been playing for 12 years and i was a concert master, and this song took while for me to learn and even than i didnt master it.)

  • my orchestra played the backup music for the piece, we had highschool soloists do the hard parts, we didn't have this exact version so don't go freaking out. also were an intermediate orchestra & were beter than most in the county...So dont freak out, if i had a video of out recent concert then i would put it on here but one of the parents who i don't know of filmed our concert so i dont have the video. You've never heard us play so you have no right to say how adavanced or unadvanced we are.

  • i played this in my 6th grade orchestra took about what, 6 months?

  • who is the conductor!!! Amaizing!!!

  • The conductor is Peter Dimitrov. His brother working in Vienna.

  • Thank you for the information!!! Amaizing!!! I insist!

  • Music from Heaven! Listening to this music gives me a glimpse on how Heaven looks like! How beautiful and wonderful it is!

  • Perfect !

  • Very good version! I think the tempo was kind of slow what makes it more difficult for the choir...Greetings and blessings

  • spectacular performance!

  • fantastico!
