  • guy at 4:03 needs to oil his valve

  • such a good version... these guys are really awesome!!!

  • The original one is just 10000% perfect. This is very good, though

  • Thanks Superlast! Best place to hear some of JL's greatest pieces, with a group of very talented musicians :)

  • It`s Great!

  • What's that for a strange noise at 3:27/3:28? Sounds like someone is saying "juhuhuuu".

  • Just great players..but derek is something different..sorry..and no sorry..he can play !!!!

    Hp

  • The first trumpet player that comes in, why does he play so quietly? He sounds shaky to me, but maybe thats just his style. Does he always play like that?

  • That's Hakan Nyquist. I think they are all just putting a different signature to their respective parts - he's a very accomplished player, but of course, Derek shines through as always!

  • That's true, every trumpet shows it's own style. But Bob Lanese is the best player for that style. He is specalised in Jazz. Dereks sound is too hard for this song and flugelhorn. But so different they are, that makes the sound in all! :)

  • me encanta..!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song and great group. The production on the recording is very good too. Crisp!

  • Thank you for posting this but . . .

. . . the version on the CD "Live In Tokyo" has an extended guitar solo by Big Jim Sullivan.

    It's outstanding.

  • where can you pick up a james last cd?

  • look on Amazon, or any internet site

  • Type 'Peter Boosey' into Google, he used to (might still) run the James Last Appreciation Society, he also sells CDs, Videos, DVDs

  • Thanks for posting this video. Not heard Sanchez since 'Painting's'. Brilliant.

  • Brilliant. I've got a heap of James Last records but I've never heard this. Typical moody Last - ACE!

    Thanks Superlast.

  • Chas, you are something else! I love it when JL funks up - this is classic.

  • I'd like to give a shout out to the dude who posted this vid.!

It's the first vid. I've evr seen with Bob, and o'course all the other guys were fantabolous, but I've really serched for a vid wit Bob.! If anyone has the opportunity to get a masterclass wit 'im you'd really enjoy't, he's an amazing teacher, and an equally amazing person.!

So once again, thanks for the post, and please post more wit Bob if you've got i'!!!

    :)

  • Hey thanks for the comment - it makes it all worthwhile :) Bob is on quite a few of my clips - just look them out. I've met a few of the band but never got the chance to meet him. Thanks again.

  • on which cd i found this record?

  • Another great one - THANKS superlast!!!

  • Big Jim Sullivan and Jimmy Page played on the majority of the UK 1960 pop hit records.

In the late 60s Big Jim became Tom Jones's guitarist.

I'm not sure what happed to "Little" Jimmy.

  • Excellent video! I love it so much!

  • superlast,

Thank you for posting this excellent video.

Have you anymore James Last with Big Jim Sullivan ?

The guitar was a Contrera worth £2,000.

  • UK's finest guitarist.

  • Definately. When he was with JL, he really shone out. I remember seeing him perform live. I am told that JL gave him a guitar.
