  • this is a bit out of date, but as a member of the Vehicross.info forums, I am very curious of this oil pickup-screen issue you mention? We've been suffering from these problems but it has nothing to do with sludge... its sudden oil loss through the PCV valve. You would have noticed that the engine you replaced had no oil left in it. Its a 3.5L isuzu issue that is common..

  • My hat's off you you guys at Cooper Lake Automotive, looks like you do really good work. Shop looks great. I hope I never have to replace/repbuild my VX but maybe I can talk you guys into coming to Alabama and doing it for me.

    Nice Job

  • Ya I doubt we could come to Alabama to do this job. LOL

  • Well if I ever need it done maybe you guys could take a vacation and charge if off as business expense :)

    Have a Merry Christmas

  • The oil changes were not done regularly so sludge built up and killed the engine

  • What was not done to care for the engine? I just bought a VX and it seems to run fine so I would like to keep it that way.

  • The engine was not maintained properly built up sludge and that caused a restriction in the oil pickup screen. That caused lower than normal oil pressure which eventually caused a rod bearing to spin. Which is a catastrophic failure.

  • What was the reason for engine replacement?
