  • If Cavia was still alive, i would want them to make another version of Nier whereby there's a good ending where Shades live with Replicants in harmony

  • @buchno LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL IM CRYNG

  • I love the titles of these tracks. "Cold Steel Coffin" Perfectly fits the Aerie. People simply rot indoors and never leave their homes out of fear. A cold steel coffin indeed.

  • From the moment I set foot in the area, despite the music being fitting even for simply wandering and a few small fry, it always seemed more powerful and foreboding... then I came back and a Boss had hoarded this track for it's own theme of battle, and I was satisfied with my intuition.

  • Listening to everyone in the Aerie speak from inside their houses was way too depressing...

  • My friend was trying to take a nap while I was playing this game... I got to Aerie and this started to play... yeah.. he couldnt sleep very well

  • *jumps off bridge*

    *continue*

    "A GATHER POINT! :D"

    "..FUCKING CLAY"

    *jumps off bridge*

  • @Peace1ProudCanadian I know the first 20 seconds of this song extremely well

  • The Aerie.........what a soulcrushing place-Weiss

  • Im pretty sure lyrics means ''Who would that be?!'' - it is in portugues xP

  • @alef321 I don't think the lyrics in any of the NieR soundtracks have any definable language. If you listen to The Song of the Ancients that Devola sings you can hear various grammar structures from many different languages. For sure I know they used French, Spanish and German. It would take a skilled multi-linguist to define all of the language structures they use

  • MY favourite song in this game !

  • SPOILERS

I think the shades at the very beginning are Legion, not shades.

  • i just love the irony of this song

  • MASSIVE SPOILER

    --------------------------

one thing i dont understand about this game is at the start you fight with some shades right? but i thought nier was meant to be the first shade?? someone please tell me am i missing something here?

  • @devalt1 SPOILER

    ------------------------------------

No, he sold his soul to Grimoire Noir, if I remember correctly, in order to save his daughter's life from the Black Scrawl, which would have turned her into a shade herself.

  • @upalive11 in the town this song is played in, people live in these steel houses and they never come out of them, i guess implying that they live in a "cold steel coffin"

  • "Cold Steel Coffin"

Hmmmm....Is that referring to the ocean? Drowning perhaps?

It's an curious title for a song.

  • This reminds you of the gloom of farming for Eagle Eggs. If only I had realized their worth in Part One...

  • Such a beautiful and haunting song. Really set the mood.

  • I guess the one dislike was from a person who couldn't handle the sadness of finishing this game and missed the like button. Poor sap.

  • @NeoZombieMaster20 no, i'm sure it was just an asshole, plain and straight.

  • Don't you just love it when the two top comments are directly related! ^_^

  • oh man...the Aerie...to put it in Kainé's own words "That place is a shithole". The people, the total (admittedly intentional) lack of anything that portrays life, it really is one of the drabbest places I think I've ever been to in a game.

  • @Revaris

Indeed, they made the Aerie intentional imo as well that way. I think that it is just amazing how to put the vibe in there. Oh man everytime when i think of Nier the game really deserves an oscar or something you know? This game is so fucking amazing.

  • @Citan85 For sure, Nier is deffo one of the most underestimated games I've ever laid my hands on, *raises glass* here's hoping more people can appreciate it for the piece of art it is = )

  • this song is the best son i have ever herd

  • This is one hell of an epic song, but it reminds me of farming the damn eagle egg :\

  • yujhbmnolkl;hjfcb ;l,.;l/';;kjasn jnm dewskjm ,kljm,

Oh sorry, that was me wiping the jizz off my keyboard after listening to this song.

  • @kingofworldnum1 haha :D

  • The one guy who disliked this is in The Cold steel Coffin

  • sorry if this was asked, anyone have a download link?

  • At 00:40 I can hear "Quem virá? Quem será?" which is portugese for "Who will come? Who will be?". The composer said that portuguese was one of the languages she used to make the languages of the songs, I wonder if that's the one.

  • @Sonetodecirene looks like -

  • @Sonetodecirene it IS saying that, the people of the Aerie believed in great superstitions, thus why they thought kaine was bad luck, thus giving her the crappiest childhood anyone could ever have! Either way, the Aerians Wanted someone to save them from the torment of the shades and superstition. Unfortuantly, they get blow into Oblivion after fighting Wendy.

  • @blackeyedp7 No they are not superstitious and they do not want to be saved from the Shades. The Aerie was the one place where the replicants and the shades lived in harmony, as evidenced by the boy and his sister that Kaine kills. The reason they do not want Kaine is that she is known to dislike Shades almost as Nier and they are afraid she will kill them. When Nier and co. returns to the village, they attempted to show they were benevolent but things got horrible and a killing spree commences

  • @guiltytangent That's not really true. The Aerie wasn't isolated because humans and shades lived together. They were isolated because they were afraid of the Shades, and to a larger extent, the unknown. That the people were turned into Shades was not their choice. The people had no idea they were living with Shades. If they did, drastic things probably would've happened. After all, you do see human guards fighting the newly emerged shades. They only attack Nier if you attack them.

  • @BlackCladGolbez There's a cutscene in the game that shows that shades were living together, all the people didn't necessarily turn into shades when Wendy appeared. The people were more absorbed by Wendy than turned into shades. I don't know about the guards, I know there was one guard cowering before the boss appeared and there were others who will attack Nier after the shades appear.

  • @blackeyedp7 The shades in the village made a last stand to defend their village against Nier by fusing to become Wendy. Unfortunately, Emil uses his powers to destroy the entire village and any other replicant villagers in there.

  • Aerie deserved gettin destroyed by Emile. They've been bastards to Kaine her whole life and after they got destroyed, i gave them my evil smirked.

  • ha its kind of messed up how they nuked Aerie.

  • <3 Square Enix for this song :P

  • @V3RTIGO222 Actually, Cavia developed the game and Square Enix published it.

  • As soon as I saw that comment of "hole soundtrack", I now imagine the men in the chorus saying "Hole hole, hole hole hole hole"

  • this soundtrack has a name which fits well with Kaine's village, Aerie, the most corrupted place on earth, and the gloomiest village of all... you can find the deadly atmosphere in this OST...

I hate that place, people always stay inside and curse you, even though you didn't do anything. Kaine's childhood is full of bad memories of Aerie...and that place just get much worse in the end.

  • it's beautiful and ominous at the same time, this games music really lets the player know how to feel during every situation.

  • my favorite :)

  • @buchno whole... :P
