I had this game, but after the first play-through, I turned it in.
I thought the ending would be great, but it was really bitter-sweet and made me sad, so the story disappointed me, and the combat, while entertaining for a while, quickly grew stale, especially when it was so difficult to work up monstrous combos for better scores in short time-frames......
i loved this game. it was really great and the music, settings and story were all beautiful. i wanted to hear their Japanese voices, and Stroud had an awesome Japanese voice =D.
Wow, a really good preview and a great soundtrack! I played Secret of Mana and really loved it. I wish I could play this game. Nice to see Flammie is still in the game too!
Despite what a lot of people say on other sites/videos/etc, I really enjoy Dawn of Mana. I mean, the controls take a little getting used to, but once you do that, it's a cinch! And the story - man, you never see it coming!

The 3D Game is better of course but I realy like the Item Makings and instrument makings in mana 3 and it has a pet system too. i would realy love to see a mana 5 that has instrument makings and item makings, a More exiting pet raising and Spirit hunting and I realy miss the Special Techniques!

Why was Legend of Mana your fave. Did you even play Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, or Seiken Densetsu 3? Those were all much better than Legend of Mana.
Well, I haven't played final fantasy adventure, but I've briefly played the others. Though I think I have a liking more for Legend of mana, due to the fact that it was the first game of the mana series that I ever played. I suppose you could say that's why lol. =]
Legend of mana has one thing that has cathed my attenton ( I played it 3 days ago and I have barely beaten with only a few quests done and with a low level and wwith no special pets LOL, the minimum of the minimum of gameplay was 14 hours) and I LOVED IT!!

I think both the KH and FF:CC comparisons are correct. It has the battle mechanics of KH and the appearance of FF:CC.. Probably because the graphics were done by the same people who did CC. ;)

Kingdom Heart-ish? If anything it would be Grandia 2 or FF:CC. FF:CC and this look damn near similiar with a different camera angle and larger character models. Looks like a more thought out FF:CC if anything
The last game of mana series has more then ten years, I think that the purpose of Dawn of Mana is to attract young players that dont know anything about mana series and show to them a piece of what is coming soon. Many of the creators of the previous games of the serie worked on this project and the game is
clearly diferent of the others so I cant think anything else.
Lovely colours and character designs!! Even the background designs are fantastic!! *__* I really love the overall theme and colours for Dawn of Mana! If it were a storybook I'd definately buy it!! Haha.
But ya, the camera angles and controls and be very frustrating. The pull back after hitting enemies is slow as well. This aspect kinda pisses me off.
The one in PS1 is Legend of Mana. That game was one of the best action RPG in Ps1 ever cuz there's lot of stuff you can have from pet to a golem robot who helps you in your journey. You can also reach 999 hp in level 60 or so i remember and u can still reach more higher level....This Dawn of Mana...When i was reading PSM it is says that ine the beginning of every chapter your level will be reseted to level one again. I don't know why .....

All and all dont believe the reviewers. They give bad votes too alot of games that i play and are good. Give this a try i say!

Sorry for the double post, but I have say this. One thing I worry 'bout most from any Square Enix game nowadays is the dubbed voice acting. I personally prefer most Japanese voice acting over America's. Even though I know it won't happen, it would be awesome if they kept the Japanese voices and just added subtitles.
It's going to be released on May 22nd for us North Americans under Dawn of Mana. A really short synopsis is that the main character the main girl are orphans and childhood friends in a small town (Near the Mana tree I think, it's been a while since I played) which later gets attacked because some guy wants the powers that the girl has for his purposes. I could go further since I've finished the game, but I think that's all you need to know for now.
Legend of Mana was AWESOME!!! Each of its arc were very engaging and could have been a fulfledge game on their own...The Star-Crossed Lovers, The Bejeweled City, ant The Dragoons had all the ingredients of great stories. I really hope that Dawn do it some justice.
Sorry to be the negative one here, but I hated Legend of Mana with a passion. I loved the other 3 games, though. I hope it's most like SD3, but i'd be fine with it being like SD2 as well... Of course, since it's 3d, it'll likely end up like Kingdom hearts... *sigh* This may be one of those games that shouldn't go 3d.
Legend of Mana was the reason that kept me from smashing the blasphemy that is Children of Mana. LoM is the the reason why I'm actually looking at this trailer....it really sucks that you don't feel the same, maybe you didn't give it enough time. Pearl, Elazul, Larc - oh how I miss them...I really want a remake for the PSP.
Legend of Mana... On PS1? Have you played the first 3 games? Secret of Mana on SNES? Freedom of exploration, a fully realized world, a great magic system... The PS1 game with it's episodic structure and "build your own world" system with incredibly linear maps, no real exploration, and only left an right animations for attacks... Overall crappy animations for the heroes... It was a serious downgrade to Secret of Mana and an even bigger downgrade to Seiken Densetsu 3.

It is a great game, but I always try to compare it with Legend of Mana and LoM always wins. Now the same time LoM is better for me.

I LOVED Legend of Mana.. I hope the gameplay will at least be similar... knowing square-enix.. the story lines will of course be great.

Sorry to be the negative one here, but I hated Legend of Mana with a passion. I loved the other 3 games, though. I hope it's most like SD3, but i'd be fine with it being like SD2 as well... Of course, since it's 3d, it'll likely end up like Kingdom hearts... *sigh* This may be one of those games that shouldn't go 3d.

Legend of Mana was the reason that kept me from smashing the blasphemy that is Children of Mana. LoM is the the reason why I'm actually looking at this trailer....it really sucks that you don't feel the same, maybe you didn't give it enough time. Pearl, Elazul, Larc - oh how I miss them...I really want a remake for the PSP.

Legend of Mana... On PS1? Have you played the first 3 games? Secret of Mana on SNES? Freedom of exploration, a fully realized world, a great magic system... The PS1 game with it's episodic structure and "build your own world" system with incredibly linear maps, no real exploration, and only left an right animations for attacks... Overall crappy animations for the heroes... It was a serious downgrade to Secret of Mana and an even bigger downgrade to Seiken Densetsu 3.

yea thats why i hate legend of mana. It is nothing at all like the seiken densetsu deries...legend of mana reminds me of a want to be final fantasy- but we all know the creators did get their ideas from final fantasy lol :p
i still am trying to figure out what the story is supposed to be. anyone want to fill me in??? lol...message my account if you know. thanks. im curious if its supposed to be a prelude to secret of mana, or to another SD game...i heard its a prelude- none the less lol

Mmmh... it looks a little weird to me after playing sword of mana, I'm not sure of this graphic style in 3d, in 2d it's cool, but here is a little bit strange, but It's gonna be a cool game.

It looks SO Kingdom Hearts (II). They have definetly used KH2 graphics engine.
I am not sure is it really good idea to adapt Mana series into 3D...

O Jogo eh mt bom sim! As musicas, cenários, e toda a arte em sim estão no TOP naquilo q o já cansado PS2 tem a oferecer... Quanto a jogabilidade pode ser um tanto qnt trava no inicio, mas nada com o q não se possa acostumar, alias a jogabilidade nessa série nunca foi lá mt boa... enquanto não sai a versão americana eu me contento com a japonesa mesmo... entender japones ROX!!!

The art, music, and scenery is beautiful, but according to MANY people, the gameplay is just terrible, but thats not stopping me from playing this
