when your finger picking the e string 2nd and 3rd fret wouldnt you pick a and d instead of d and g?

well you have to vary the picking speed the first note of each chord is played then a short pause then the other 2 notes follow quickly then change

I think why your getting confused is cause he numbers his strings 1 being the low E and 6 being High E which is wrong

you're welcome, glad to help, ok when brad plays it he adds a note at the end of each chord, so with the D chord he plays the D then G then B string normally then i taught u to switch chords, what he does is he plays the D then G then B then really quickly the D string again and then he changes real quick so instead of like dun dun dun (3 beats) you have four like dun dun then the last two are dun dun really quick, you can listen close to the song and pick it up if u know what to listen for
