@BoboliciousWorld It wouldn't have been the same, Peter himself has admitted that Eric was the better drummer. Although in a show of fair play Eric got in touch with Peter so he could get tips on how to play the tunes right.

But in overall, "Creatures" was Kiss' return to true heavy metal and I wonder how many fans of their pop work were SHOCKED when they listened to "Creatures" for the first time.

@RastaSaiyaman I was 11 yrs old when Creatures came out in October in '82 and I was not happy with the Vinnie Poncia produced albums...Dynasty and Unmasked....The Elder musically sounded heavier but the concept was flawed and dull so when I heard Creatures I was kicking my heels with joy.....my friends who liked Unmasked and Dynasty said it wasn't the Kiss they knew and loved....when they heard this album. I thought they were nuts.

@BoboliciousWorld And although "Lick it up" isn't a bad album, the eighties output of Kiss wasn't really that much to shout about either, but they made up when releasing "Revenge" which basically is a similar album to "Creatures" but with a healthy dose of "Destroyer" mixed in.

It seems that whenever Kiss needs to prove a point, they release a kick ass album. I thought "Sonic boom" wasn't bad and I'm curious to what "Monster" will be like.

@RastaSaiyaman Yes Revenge was a great album. Sonic Boom was ok...but I have a hard time accepting Kiss in this new format with Tommy and Eric in Peter and Ace's make-up. I can't get into it. I stopped seeing Kiss live in 2003.

I never fully considered KISS a "Heavy Metal" band, they were more classic rock/early heavy metal but this is the closest and most "METAL" of all their albums, hands down...When I first got into thrash around '92 - '94 I would see/hear this on MTV or Vh1 and STILL dig it...that's saying a lot from such a fan of extreme metal and NOT this mainstream sort of band
