  • Don't say that they are rednecks, or racistes, or republican, or man of the south, the two man in the car are just motherfucker, nothing else.

  • The moral to the story. Don't flip off anyone in Mississippi.

  • The two people who disliked this probably felt like this was a little too close to the truth...ya heer me hillbilly boy!?!? LMAO!!!!

  • fuck those rednecks!!!!!

  • Born into the age of rap and hip hop, I was first shown classic rock when I was about 10. saw this movie for the first time when I was about 16, in all my life have never seen a movie quite as powerful and awsome as this almost cried in this scene. I want The Ballad of easy rider played at my funeral. They died free men

  • @jakethesnake576 man i just saw the film and i was same age when i first heard rock and i am 16(fake youtube age) like u too....weird....

  • Ahhh that was just a bunch of hippies !!!!

  • ending means something significant that hasnt been explained by the writer/director-it leaves one to ponder-reflect a lot of things-a bit of shocker--even a guy was chosen with a lump in the neck

  • and with that, the American dream is dead.

Easy Rider man, it just doesn't get much better.

  • fucken redneck had good aim..his face irritates me

  • @84benfiquista Yeah, he was an ugly bastard.

  • I'm born and raised in the rural south. My dad was a plumber and my mom tended to the house and garden every day so.......... I guess that makes me a closed minded, homophobic, racist, sexist redneck that hates the world because I'm just to stupid to see my own stupidity huh? Just checking cause my latina wife and gay friend I watch football with would prob want to know.

  • @jamesgville Exactly, not everyone from the South is a "redneck". It's your upbringing, but just because you grew up in the rural South, it doesn't make your family rednecks either. Rednecks are people like this and only a minority of them actually acquaint themselves with agriculture, much less work for a living.

  • @jamesgville wow u have latina wife?...lucky guy :D...no seriously, ppl that think every human person from south is redneck are a little bit regardless

  • I was working for Ronnie Earle in Travis County, Texas. Clarence Thomas was head of the EEOC. Earle admitted wrongdoing but it didn't matter, Reagan was president.

  • In 1981 I was a young single mom & A. D.A. not at all popular for my liberal views, not to mention my refusal to have sex with the DA. After my complaint with EEOC, the DA's secretary and boyfriend followed me and my 14 YOA son on my "Passport" motor scooter at centimeters for miles at sixty miles per hour plus: terrorizing both of us while I tried to keep my cool. We could both hear them laughing and whooping. They finally pulled away.

  • There are people like those hicks in England toady we call them chavs. Same people different time.

  • My mom took me to see this movie when it came out (I'm 53 now), and I recall it changed my entire perspective on life.. Still really pisses me off. Makes me cry. As soon as I was old enough (18) I got a chopped Harley, and went all over the country, just looking for.... I dunno just what I was looking for. But this movie changed my life.

  • It's a "MOVIE" made by Hollywood liberals over 40 years ago. Relax people.

  • so sad...

  • the guy with shot gun looks like has limp-nova. look at his neck

  • a pity that there are people like the actor's truck.

  • A man who went looking for *freedom* across the country and never found it.

  • The Stars and Stripes chopper was stolen and never recovered. Probably broken up for parts by the thief who had no idea what he had taken. That chopper would be worth a mint today.

  • I cant help but laugh every single time I see fondas bike flying without him, hahahhaahahah

  • LOL at the illiterate Redneck slime.

  • I saw this film in 69 when it came out. When the final scene ended and the credits rolled, theater went dead silent, no one made any effort to get up. Then someone shouted out "YOU MOTHERFUCKER"

  • @HondaMaven lol my mom said when she saw someone put the soul fist up and shoued Only in america!

  • @alphaorgman wtf, are you for real?

  • Venture Bros. did a good job referencing this.

  • They go from New Mexico to Louisiana in one scene because in Texas, they'd actually get shot.

  • You ask me, that's exactly what a couple of drug dealers deserve. I think it was just b.s. that Hopper portrayed those guys as a couple of redneck retards with a shotgun, cause all it does it paint Hopper and Fonda's deaths as martyr-like. Martyrs for what?! Being free of society's rules? Well they're there for a reason. To this day, I still think this movie is full of shit, made in an era that was full of shit. Free your mind; turn on, tune in, drop out; all that stupid hippie bullshit.

  • @Duwap73 bet your a bundle of fun..at thjre bar..

  • @Duwap73 Have you ever really looked inside yourself and tried to go a different and unique way? Have you ever done anything truly original in your life? This story is about the loss of innocence and true American "freedom". Wake up. You're a follower. I am too. But I have fought it... well at times.

  • i wasn't really expecting the movie to end like that

  • It's really a downer to know that two men from my home state shot and killed to innocent guys. Doesnt matter what thier situation was or how they got here to Louisiana. Execution of a man demands a trial, jude and Jury. From looking several times, it appears that the two culprits first wanted to get off on harrassing Wyatt and Billy but Billy showed em he wasnt scared and that when that man shot him. Too Bad billy didnt have a weapon also.

  • The purpose with this movie was to show that people really are scared for freedom. Most people who are working hard every day cant understand that kind of freedom with long hair smoking weed and taking drugs. If all did that the society would die and would just lie there to be taken. Anyway i liked that time very much- especially from 68 to 90. and im very happy i was allowed to live that time.

  • Did that ugly cyst-necked creep with the shotgun marry his first cousin?

  • The Mindtage is working.

  • I can watch this movie just for the scenery, the bikes and the soundtrack. The Hungarian they had film this was a genius.

  • why were they shot?

  • The mother fucker has cancer at his neck 0:38, at least he will die in pain.

  • Über den Film muß man wohl nichts mehr sagen und gerade das bewegende tragische Ende zeigt wie mies Menschen sein können. Einer der ganz wenigen Filme die mich zu Tränen rührt !!!

  • what the flying fuck?

  • @s54368 Go suck a hick dick you idiot

  • @arkangelmikey07 I hate to break it to you pal, but the majority of American cars haven't been entirely produced in America for 30 years, and the ones that are now have so many problems that you end up paying double the price you originally paid just to keep it running. Take Chevrolet, for example. And if you're talking RACING cars, then don't make me fucking laugh.

  • most of us will just go out which further enforces the idea of freedom through illustrating the meaningless of death the point is the ambiguity and pointlessness of the death scence illustrates the duality of freedom and the meining of death conversely it puts perspective on the meaning of life and freedom

  • and as far as the ending i see it as acomentary on the duality of freedom you can use it for good or evil and if you watch the scene closely youll realize the "hicks" in all likelyhood did not mean to kill either when hopper was shot it was prefaced with "watch this im gonna scare these guys" and followed by "what happened?" wyatt was killed to save their own skin and the ambiguity of the death scene is supposed to prove the meaningless way we all die there are no bells or great battles..

  • heres my bit (this is my favorite movie) you can use hick or redneck without being hypocritical the words themsleves insinuate a character which constitutes discriminitory actions and mindsets its like its okay to say i hate all nazis because nazis by definition are discriminators i think the problem here is the difference between a hick and a southerner or someone who lives a rural lifestyle not the same have southern pride sure but hicks by definition are uneducated and, prejudicial

  • Better to live a short time with freedom than a lifetime in without.

  • @greyowlsl haha amen to that!

  • In my opinion this was not only about rednecks blowing away the hippies but it was a metaphor for the way our culture was changing. This was at the end of the free love and expression and how the country changed from this attitude in the mid to late 60's to a new feeling that we shouldnt act this way anymore and that everyone should act and be what society WANTS us to be or what the government wants us to be an act. The shooting of the two bike riders represents the end to the 60's culture. Sad!

  • @22reTOYOTA

Yep, I've got a 2002 Toyota Camry that hasn't so much hiccuped or spouted the slightest problem since I got it. By far the greatest purchase I've ever made.

  • Can you really denounce discrimination and use terms like "white trash" or "rednecks" at the same time without being hypocritical?

  • @ballisstix

    Yes, you can.

They are, white trash redneck pieces of shit.

    Fuck you.

  • @DagothJones Sorry, thats your own view. I just like to laugh at hypocrites, and how they contradict themselves all the time. If rednecks want to be rednecks, let them. This is just a movie. You don't see rednecks going into the cities and trashing cityslickers because they are different, rednecks mind their own buisness, it's just all the people in the cities criticize rednecks because they (you) naturally excell at thinking you're better than everyone who isn't just like you.

  • @ballisstix I think ignorant would be the most accepted vinacular.

  • @7yearstoday What?

  • @ballisstix People who dicriminate should just be called ignorant.

  • @7yearstoday Totally.

  • @ballisstix Sure you can. They're the dominant group, what does it hurt them?

  • @Novelboy2112 You need a new outlook on life, hate is hate. It's no less harsh when someone like you uses it against rural people.

  • @ballisstix I don't mean to sound like a martyr, but how else can you react to someone who is just as willing (or perhaps less) to tolerate your own existence?

  • @Novelboy2112 I just roll with it. I don't hate just because others hate. It's a waste of time to me. Do you live near rural people?

  • @ballisstix I don't live near them, but I spent all of high school and some of college with the kids and parents who lived in those sorts of areas. Not everyone believes in luv, and it certainly shows.

  • @Novelboy2112 I get tired of people who cry about how hard the world and people are, when all they have to do is *just not get involved*. People are not going to change, get over it.

  • All in favor of riding out and going hick-hunting say "aye"

  • this is why all hillbillies are stupid and dont deserve to live

  • Kill all rednecks!!!!!!

  • It's the same old story...."you can be free just as long as you look, dress and think like me....otherwise, if we don't like your kind or what you have to say, and you don't quite follow what we say, we'll cruxify or assasinate you"

  • its only a FILM

  • that river is actually a road for me (even look at shapes of them) and the road is a LIFE

  • yeah..well..George Carlin is right...

  • Fucking rednecks, they deserve to be shot.

  • The rednecks ruled then--and still rule today!

  • @steve7138

Upon reading this, I feel the urge of torture and slowly kill some southerns.

Fucking rednecks, they always ruin everything.

  • @steve7138

Yeah. you have to be really tough to shoot two unarmed people with a shotgun. sort of a cowardly way of "ruling"

  • those two in the truck deserve to be punished

  • Discrimination...still goes around to our days...what a shame..

  • thats so frustrating and sad

  • this is me when jack nicholson died " wait... WTF??? FUCK FUCK WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!!!??" and this is me when hopper died " FUCK YEAH!! HE'S RIDING BACK TO KILL THOSE FAGGOTS... BOOOM!!!..... silence.... wow" this movie is way too frustrating hahahahah

  • @fannypack311 Life is too frustrating. "Real life sucks losers dry, if you want to fuck with the eagles you have to learn to spread your wings and fly."

  • Does this make anybody want to brutally torture the hillbilly in the truck?

  • ha ha thats funny guys seeking freedom ok fine but didnt harm anyone what do you think may have happend when someone took that shit they was pushen expically after all that gas got on it (lamo) dont be nieve wow that ckank was simply more powerful and that hippie generation with all that dope they took talking all that peace bullshit calling the nam vets baby killers now run this country and look at the shit it caused alot of old droopy boobs from burnt bras gotta love the tune the weight though

  • @1paganchild So are you saying you're glad and don't care that they died???

  • @1paganchild What in the bloody hell did you just say?

  • At 00:27 its hard to hear but , " Want me to blow your brains out?"

Bunch of bull to kill two men seeking out freedom who didnt harm anyone

  • What does the redneck say at 00:27?

  • @jollywood999 ya wanna blow your brains out why don't ya get a haircut...

  • One of the saddest endings of all time.Great movie.

  • 0:33, that's freedom!

  • in my opinion, i think the redneck shot Billy on accident. kinda like a dumbass kid just playing with his dads gun and accidently shoots someone. because his friend was like "what happened?" after he shot him, and he didnt take aim or anything when he shot. he looked like he was pulling the gun back into the truck. and then maybe he shot Wyatt on purpose to cover it all up.

  • Now that's entertainment! Unexpected, great actors, and Roger McGuinn making the tunes at the end!

  • Now im never going to at another redneck joke ever..

    fuckin asshole rednecks...

  • try a listen to Eminem"s "I'm not Afraid" ,,,"from the little finger to the middle finger" gosh I was only 5 when this came on the scene...all the tunes are great in this movie >>>came looking in memory of Dennis Hopper who now r.i. p ...and compare todays tunes re: "the pusher" ...Em's got it covered >>be not afraid

  • "Let your waters wash down, take me from this road to some other town

  • Maybe Larry can sort things out.

  • WTF!!! I've been watching this movie for 45 mins on tv and I just get online just to check the synopsis on this movie and I almost didn't believethe ending at first Damn Crazy ending Dude

  • to bad billy died in real life

  • @orrsome23

Well under capitalism, it is the wealthy few that actually enjoys real freedom while the working classes either live as a exploitative slave or die...also the "American Dream" is just a delusion lie that the working classes believe that they can "rise to the top" but they never will...

  • RIP Dennis you will be remembered for eternity by your movies

  • I laugh so hard everytime I see this scene !..the way that motorbike just gets blown off the road is hilarious !

  • why cant there be a movie bought killing rednecks?

  • RIP DENNIS YOU WILL BE MISSED

  • RIP Dennis!!!!!!! Good Grass For You!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yet more Hollywood stereotyping of Inbred Southern Racist Hillbilly Asshole Rednecks.

  • T-T

  • So fucked up, it ....ed me off once Hopper was shot, even more pissed when Fonda's character was murdered. They didn't bother anyone, they were about freedom and rights. Billy had the right to have long hair, and the fact he was shot for being a hippy and having long hair is ridiculous, fucking white trash hicks. Discrimination pisses me off.

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 the main point of the story at the time was not freedom itself, but the fact that americans talk alot about freedom, but fear anyone who truly exhibits it

  • @williamrafe1 Good point.

  • @williamrafe1 Jack's said that well!

  • @williamrafe1 All Americans? Such garbage.

  • @Narragansett55 im american too, and not being racist or anything, just making a point of the times

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 R.I.P Dennis Hopper

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3

    Its a movie.

  • @TheNameisMoney I know, but it's based on actual reality of the 70's as if you didn't know at the time, and majority of the hippies like Hopper & Fonda' character were discriminated.

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 Dude, let's go through alabama on our harleys and go hick hunting =)

  • @TylerBriffett Haha!!! Sounds like a good idea. Best comment ever. lol

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3

Totally agree with you, my brother Tom & I were watching this movie a few weeks ago on TV but we didn't get a chance to see the ending so I finally came on here to see how it all turned out and I was devastated! that is so wrong what them assholes did!

  • @ThePinkFloydPortal Yeah, it's the same situation with Goths or any subculture person that is different from others and self proclaimed "normal" people.

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 Discrimination pisses you off. But you use the term "White Trash Hicks".

    "I hate discrimination..... And N*ggers"

  • @telkevolon Dude, i'm white, but thanks for sharing. Good for you that you hate "all" black people, not my problem. I hate some too, but not all of them. By the way, those two were white trash for the fact they give the south a bad reputation for bothering two innocent hippy bikers that bothered nobody except be themselves and live their life the way they wanted, and they payed the price for it which is ridiculous.

  • @telkevolon Oh come on, calling people trashy hicks are insults, not prejudice. I agree that calling them white was probably racially motivated though. I mean, come on, black, red, yellow, purple, blue, orange, green and pink people can't be trashy hicks? Posh.

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 And what are you doing by calling someone for white trash?

    Thats DISCRIMINATION!

  • @globe255 Well, as you can see, that comment is old, so go tell someone who gives a shit. Haha!!!

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 It doesnt matter if the comment was 10 years old as long as you are out there to reply on it. You cant expect me to see your comment the very same day you have made it can you? Anyway you have aparently already stated your level by the way you made the reply-:)

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 they were about making a big score selling dope.

  • the average long hair hater back then just didn't blast a hippies brains out..these guys where stone cold killers....i demand a seque,

  • this is the most "wtf" scene ever. why is this considered such a great film? the ending is completely tacked on. "then a couple of rednecks casually shotgun them for no discernible reason. the end."

  • @ Garuda1337 My God do you need to have it all spelled out for you?

These two guys went looking for America, and at the end they most certainly found it...

  • i thought the rest of the movie was great. the ending just really bothered me because it felt so anticlimactic and stupid.

  • @Garuda1337 It's a good movie because of the ending bro. It's one of the rare films where the protagonists die! They were almost there... GREAT FILM! :D BTW does anyone know what highway they're on?

  • Comment removed

  • this also shows you that rednecks had short businessman haircuts. nowadays thats considered a "gentlemen" and "sensible" but no. hicks always had 1950s haircuts

  • those motherfucking rednecks! they shot them just because they had long hair. like Jack Nicholson said to Dennis Hopper "THey are scared of what your represent"

fucking hillbillies when that redneck said why dont you get a haircut. Hopper should have said. why dont you brush your teeth you fucking hick! damn rednecks! fuck

  • doesnt this scene just make you wanna hate rednecks??

  • Totally. I saw this for a college film class. When it was over the teacher asked us what we thought of it..a class mate was like "that rednecks are just as hateable today as they were back then." hahaha

  • @MrLoubard fuck you, you should be ashamed to be proud of being a redneck. stupid toothless backwoods hick

  • You obviously haven't seen Deliverance.....or maybe you have;)

  • screw those rednecks they can go rott in hell

  • well a lotta rednecks today have long hair party all night and ride trunks n bikes

  • American Dream my ass. this movie proves it.

  • In Eastwood's cowboy fantasy films: Only

a few characters are gainfully employed.

  • The only cinematic justice to these red necks killing Hopper and Fonda was Burt Reynolds at the end of Deliverance at the hospital saying he didn't remember a thing! "F'n A, Bubba!"

  • The deep and meaningful message conveyed in this scene is "don't flip the finger to a redneck with a gun".

  • Great movie... JACK NICHOLSON RULES!!!

  • what a load of shit like the poster of the vid

  • @gingebigear go fuck a goat, I know you fuckig hillbillies have a craving for that... fucking inbred

  • @TheOuroboros84 shut up u tart i dnt fuck goats but id make a exception for your mum

  • what a great film...sometimes film have todefy common theory and practices of film making...this creates a meaning that needs to be said and document a time in history...

this film does this...a sad ending...but a fucking strong statement!

  • Yea like you would have just pulled out a gun while riding and shot him he would blew your ass away too

  • l0l what even happened in the ending?

  • Depressing ending

  • You gotta remember it was a different time in the south back then and if they saw a couple of raggidy ass hippies they would have shot them jus like black ppl or gay queer bashin homos.

  • I love this movie but I wish it didn't have to end it this way.

  • One thing I never understood: What happened to Wyatt (Peter Fonda's) body? Even in the long shot of the final scene, his body is nowhere to be seen. Did he just instantly disappear when he died or something?

    Maybe he was a Jedi...

  • fonda rode awhile before encountering the guy's in the truck

  • they just didn't know how to end movies back then look at Vanishing Point, or Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, they just kill everybody at the end. WTF???

  • No, they knew how to end movies back then. Sometimes the ending wasn't happy, that's all.

  • I watched this whole movie it was long and the ending just pisses you off

  • lol just got it that this is what they homaged in Venture Bros

  • "Hey! Where can we get a haircut?"
