@iaminbetweendays Mick Taylor was the best thing that happened to the stones.Listening to him playing on this album in the early 70s inspired me to play lead gtr.
@stonz82 I don't know why he switched to standard tuning for this on the 69 American tour. He did it in the original open D at Hyde Park that summer and it sounded fine. I also think they slowed it down a little too much for the live versions. I liked the album version better - that version is laid back, but it still rocks.
Great. Thanks for showing this.Would have loved if the stones had captured M. Taylors fingering on tape for this and the rest of Ya's-Ya's.Every song on that album came out great.
@midsizedwhiteboy It's a lot easier to come up with a great live album when you overdub most of the guitar and vocal parts in the studio after the fact. Still, you're right -- it's a great album, but if you want truly live Stones from the 69 tour, you'll need to track down some bootlegs.
@privettricker - Yeah, I later learned that that album was HEAVILY overdubbed. Never knew it, though until a couple of years ago. Some of those bootlegs of Gimme Shelter (Philadelphia and Dallas maybe) have some great leads by Mick Taylor.
aah thank you very much i was looking for a guitar cover for this version, now i found it and can also play it. Do you know what guitar the stones mostley use for the acoustic numbers?
Got my Ya Ya's reissue Deluxe edition in the mail today. I like the bonus material and DVD. So cool to see Janis Joplin and Hendrix at those MSG concerts.
@jimilimijimi I was always curious about this too. Are you playing in a band currently? If so any videos of you playing that we can check out. That would be pretty cool for your fans to see! Thanks so much for all your great videos.

@thisissway During the glory years, they mostly used Gibson Hummingbirds for acoustic tunes.

@nooobangelo Yeah, you don't really get that with the studio version, but this live one sure sounds a lot like Zeppelin.
