@OrigaMagic yeah, we know. we address the female ex in the song. for several books scott referred to them as ex boyfriends and the hook was written before the girlfriend was introduced. ramona even intimates that she thinks of roxy is an ex-bf at times and/or isn't even a real ex. i think we're good.

@mrrickles nah. it was just me against a green screen. we carefully chose each screen we wanted to use beforehand and tried to have me act out the motions exactly as they appeared in the frame.

then I went through and cut each comic into various layers so that I could fake the depth. it was pretty simple, but still took easily 200 hours. some pieces were multiple layers...like if my arm needed to appear to be on top of a table eating pizza, but my body had to be behind it. a LOT OF MASKING.

@Fieryone233 @scottpilgrimproject i thought there were things the movie did a little better, but the narrative in the last third of the movie was horrible. i loved the movie and would watch it over and over again, the end of the movie stunk and didn't make all that much sense. they made a better case for a scott/knives romance than ramona and scott. the book is far superior.

Pretty good, but there are a few spots where you are in dire need of a rhyming thesaurus and a decent editor.

The biggest offender in terms of lyrical sense is "cuz i am about to go boom", which comes off like a temporary rhyme you put in and then forgot to revise.

Following that it's "b-b-boys and crash", which just outright breaks the flow.

The 'flying burritos' and 'reflect their blast' lines are pretty weak as well.

Also, "i love you like i'm mario she's peach" is just poor grammar.

@JustABiff see...i didn't feel constrained by the music they chose to put in the movie. i just wanted to make a song inspired by scott pilgrim. i can't write hipster rock, but reading scott pilgrim took me more back to a grunge rock gen x world than the current hipster world they went to in the movie. i didn't think a straight up rap song would fit this so hard corey set out to make a beat that's more...not rap.

indie music has fused with hip-hop a lot so i thought it worked there too.
