I used to work in the reptile department of a petstore in florida, getting bit sucks lemme tell ya. None of the big ones ever got me but the little ones did fairly often, hell one time we got in a shipment of baby ball pythons all cobbled together. I had to reach in to clean out any crap or shed skins, this dosnt sound that bad given that ball pythons are fantastically calm snakes.....when there older....baby ones are curious if your edible or not.

i've been bitten by larger northern water snakes than that. they do have a powerful grip once they latch on to you but it doesn't really hurt at all. northern water snakes have a worse attitude than some rattlesnakes and will readily bite repeatedly sometimes
