I can assure you that it is real and based on recurring thoughts accompanied by terrible feelings and anxiety. Humans are susceptible to it and one sign is when people lose their dignity or do things (or don't do things) that put them in positions of humiliation, loneliness, or loss of respect that nobody would normally dare to do. For those people claiming it is fake, they must think that people are so dishonest and lazy that they have no problem throwing their lives and pride away. Not true.
I too have seen the bogus claims, an entire paymaster unit reported to the mental health tent while I was in Iraq, while I was outside the wire on patrol I might add. I sat in the MWR tent with some of these people. They were watching the TV show Over There, I think we all remember that show, it's one whole season. When I stated what bull the show was, one of them had to ask me, "What it's not like that out there?" Maybe they got it from watching too much of that show.
PTSD is the most abused word in the English language. It is total B.S. and every human being suffers from it to a degree. It is part of life and everyone shouldn't get a 100% disability rating from the government just because they were in the service. Man up and quit whining and go get a job and support yourself. The Va's are loaded with deadbeats trying to get on the government teat for life and most never saw a day of action in a battle. BTW.I'm a veteran working for a living!
@iditarod9 Were you ever actually in combat stud, and I don't mean in country I mean, do you have a CAB or CIB, have you ever pulled the trigger on anyone, or had them pull the trigger on you?
@red3lima ) In answer to your questions, no, I haven't had those experiences and I suspect that in all fairness I would have to say that there are legitimate claims of PTSD but in all VA facilities there are way to many bogus claims and those are the ones I refer too. The deadbeats who fake the PTSD disorder for that 100% rating to keep from working for a living. They haunt the halls of VA's giving one another tips on how to dupe the shrinks. Suicide threats are the best to use for starters.
@iditarod9 ive had ptsd for 23 years now and in 06 after 4 years of being turned down i finally got 80% but 100% pnt due to unemployability...and the only reason i got that is because of my tbi... it was hard as hell for me to get it... 2600 a month plus social security isnt much to live on around here... but now i hear about people being given 100% for nothing, it really pisses me off because i really needed it and i was raked over the coals to get it...
Wars kill. Either the ones who are dead or the survivors. The ones who survived are also, in a way, dead. They cannot function properly, their brains are all messed up with the horrors they had to confront. Most of the times, the soldiers sent to the front don't know why and what they're fighting for. And when those soldiers who survived are brought back to real life, they get no help from the the people who ordered them to kill people.

I sufer from PTSD. Why? I was a victim of the CIA"S MKUltra branwash project late 50's. They paid a Dr Cameron in Montreal to carry it out. He injected LSD mixed with other drugs, Massive electric shocks and weeks of sleep as a brainwash tape played. I am telling my story on You Tube called youkilledyourmother
My husband Palin Perez Jackson suffered from PTSD it is a serious issue not only in war veterans but everyday people ...I never knew too much about it wish i had ...I now realize the severity of of allowing this to go untreated...My life is empty without himand my children grieve over the loss of their father everyday...I hope that if you know someone who has it you please find out more aand encourage them to seek help be for its too late.....
@photo986 I'm a Canadian, from Quebec. I'm ashamed that our government back then let the CIA do what they did to you and to others. I'll watch your video and comment on it, that's for sure!
I've worked in Mental Health for 20 years and Have recently become a Certified EMDR practitioner. I have been truly amazed with the results I have achieved and hope to use this tool as much as possible.
I had had a severe panic disorder for 25 years. I found a tool which I used and the panic disorder was gone in less than a year. Every time I see something on PTSD I wish I could get the word out about this tool. It's called Holosync. You can easily find the official website by googling Holosync. My best too all of you. Wellness IS possible !
American Psychiatric Association has questioned the clinical appropriateness of Amen's use of SPECT, stating "The clinical utility of neuroimaging techniques for planning of individualized treatment has not yet been shown." To date the Amen Clinic has not shown that patients using his treatment approach have better outcomes.
I am a trauma therapist in AZ and a Certified EMDR clinician. EMDR is, truly, a powerful tool and I witness it, daily, giving clients hope and relief. This was a great video and truly reflected that.

@93CFD ) That's what I'm talking about! Legitimate cases are stagnant while the dead beats clog up the system with their phony claims.
