  • This video is not very informative on vaginal hysterectomy.

There exist others which are much more helpful.

  • coul not see the video, keep such informative videos free for access, please

  • The child malester does the vagina surgery......... WTF!

  • Comment removed

  • October 2010: had a complete hysterectomy via daVinci Robot; surgeon found enormous # of fibroids (not diagnosed prior to surgery) so they had to add laproscopic technique. I stayed overnight, and now, 2½ months later, am still not fully recovered. No HRT - too dangerous. Constant fatigue and hot flashes are about as bad as it gets.

  • @niamhorourke :

Da Vinci is fancy equipment just to get more money from the patient!

Competent gyneacologists only use the vaginal route.

It is better for the patient.

HRT is too dangerous, I agree.

    Why don't you try tibolone?

    Talk to your doctor.

    You should not suffer!

  • I gotta question???? I have cysts on my ovaries, they say I have endometroasis well if I get a hysterectomy can I keep my uterus being its ok,the ovaries r my problem?

  • @MsDoors33 :

Ovaries are your problem, but if you are over 40 years of age and have completed your family, the uterus should be removed as well.

  • This man is scary. To see a male physician speak so casually and matter of factly about a woman's reproductive system is horrifying. Top it off with that scarier and far more elaborate/wrong description of a "prolapse" as being "the uteras falling out of the vagina!" That alone would scare many women into early surgery. Uninformed women probably imagine this literally.

  • @Merrida100 it does falls right out, your uninformed, dont talt shit, how old are u 10?

  • @fuasshole666 Nope not 10, but I'm in the medical field and I'm familiar with this. Doctors ONLY call a prolapse "falling out" to put in simple terms for the patient to understand. It does not fall out of your body, it prolapses. Look it up. Or, you may know one day after you're old enough to have several children. Then tell me you think you know something my degree didn't teach me.

  • thank u prolapses is better

  • @fuasshole666 Yuh huh. And it does NOT mean it "falls out." Look it up.

  • @Merrida100 yes, it can ''fall out''.....saw one in the OR just this week where when the nurses raised her gowwn for positoning, her bladder was completely visible outside of the vagina

  • @Merrida100 not to be an ass or anything....but people need to be informed if they wish to be and your information is inacurate. im a scrub tech and see prolapsed bladders 2-3 times each week and yes, it literally can be falling out. we had an older lady just the other day that had let hers go on fora very long time bc she couldnt afford medical attention and when she got in the OR and put to sleep, the nurses pulled up her gown for positoning, and her bladder was literally hanging out of

  • OK qestion. IM 21 and was told my uters is extremly thin its getting be rice papper. I have had 2 kids all by emgencey c-setion what do they do ectly and do they keep the vergina ther also.,

  • with a vaginal hysterctomy is the Cervix taken out too??? & does that effect a woman's sexuality?

  • @Ahbelina :

    It usually is.

It is never a good idea to leave the cervix.

If it gets cancer or some other disease, you should re-operate!

Sexuality and orgasms actually improve after a vaginal hysterectomy!

Read the research articles of the British Medical Journal.

  • I had a hysterectomy when I was 12.........

  • I had a LAVH for fibroids, kept my ovaries as well. No hot flashes, and most importantly, no cramps, and no hypermenorrhagia. Freedom, yaay!

  • @Jennzilla2 :

If you were young at the time of the surgery, you did the right thing.

Hot flushes are going to come later in your life, anyway.

Tibolone for up to 4 years eliminates them!

  • wow good info

  • I had a hysterectomy at 26. I kept my right ovary only to have it out in 2006. The ovary was the most painful thing ever besides the gallbladder. I am on hormone pills.

  • but when you have your uterus removed you go into an early menopose so hot flashes etc... not a nice idea if you in your 20 ...scary stuff

  • im having 1 2mmow lol and im 21

  • i am sorry to hear that.

  • You don't go in to early menopause unless they remove your ovaries too. I had a hystorectomy in December and don't have to take horomones because I got to keep my ovaries.

  • That's so true. My sis had the same thing you had. She got to keep her ovaries. My mom had a complete hysterectomy. She is currently prescribed medication to replace the hormones (Estrogen) that her ovaries once provided.

  • @YouBetterRRRecognize :

    Estrogen is dangerous!

    Tibolone is better and safer.

    Talk to your doctor.

  • @fastandeffective Actually she does see her doctor on a regular basis and is doing fine, I do recall the doc making some changes in what she is taking. I just know that they started her off on the estrogen. I will look to see if Tibolone is one of her latest medication changes.

  • @THGATEKEEP it depend if cervix is stored or not..

  • NOT IF YOU KEEP YOUR OVARIES

  • @TAZTRIXIE THGATEKEEP it depend if cervix is stored or not..becuse small blood vessels from cervix will nourish the ovary over a more long period of time than in case the cervix is removed too....

  • to say another words, if hysterectomy is inevitable, it would be better do not remove the cervix. certainly cervix is far from being a whole uterus and small vessels of cervix are far from big vessels, arteries and veins of uterus but though.... - small vessels from cervix that also take part in "feeding" the ovary can help to slow down the process of ovaries extinction

  • @Kortyez :

    Nonsense.

  • I had my hysterectomy when I was 31 and the right ovary was left and since it was left I didn't go into menopause.

  • totally worth it if it hurts enough. You can sleep! You can walk! you can eat! Stay contious when u want! U can even work!

  • @starsign1981 :

    Wrong!

Hot flushes you get only if you remove BOTH ovaries.

Uterus has nothing to do with hot flushes...
