I LOVED Tempature's Rising as a kid. I though Joan Van Arc was so pretty and classy. Too bad the show didn't last long. It was a very special show. Thanks for posting!
You can see a whole episode of this show online. It's from the second season with Paul Lynde, Alice Ghostley (both very funny), and Nancy Fox (also very funny and, OMG, was she cute!). Search for:
Lovely Nancy Fox (clumsy nurse in "Temperatures Rising"): Born: Houston, 1944; began dancing with her twin brother at age five. Played "Maggie" on "General Hospital" also appeared on "The Mike Douglas Show". For other TV credits see IMDb. Appeared on Broadway in "Hello, Dolly" and "Minnie's Boys"; off-Broadway in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", on tour w/ Gene Kelly in "Take Me Along" and Debby Boone in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". I'm looking for more info .... stay tuned ...
I was only 7 y.o., but loved both these shows so much, I was pissed when they were cancelled. I really feel for what Paul Lynde must've gone through, with him trying so hard to play a straight family man.
Holy Underwear, Batman! What a delightful "blast from the past"! THANKS for posting. Too bad Paul Lynde's TV sitcom & "Temperature's Rising" were such short lived shows. Paul, James Whitmore & Cleavon Little were all quite gifted talents. How sad that none of them are alive.
Holy Shit?!?! A Black guy telling a cute young Blondie that he thinks he loves her. how did that get through production. I'm surprised he didn't say where da white women at?
Sometimes I really miss the days of only having 12 channels instead of all the nonsense that is on...don't mean to sound cranky but I'm not feeling well and that could have something to do with it. I just miss the old days (sound like a grandma I know) but there must be a few of you out there that understand...anyone?
@belaglik ---LOL!!! Now you have me questioning myself about these channels...lol! I had to think about it. Maybe you're right---we only had 7 channels! All the best to you!
In case anyone's interested, the tiny gorgeous brunette with pony-tails on Temps Rising is Nancy Fox. I had a BIGGER crush on her than Joan Van Ark. If anyone knows how I can get pics of Nancy, I will KISS the ground you walk on dearly!!! If somone has opening credits to Temps Rising or DVD information, please let me know. THANKS. GOD NANCY, YOUR HOT!!!!!!!!!
2dumb4mybritches: I did a google search on Nancy Fox and couldn't find her. No Wiki or anything. Its like she fell off the face of the earth. She was soooo ditzy and cute. Nancy whereyaat?
Wow, how I remember these shows! I was only 6 when they came on, but I remember them. I used to try my hardest to stay up and watch Temperature's Rising, and usually got sent to bed w/ threats halfway through it. But I loved it when school was closed the next day and I could actually stay up and watch it.
Sounds like when I was growing up. I was about 10 or 11. I remember three different versions of Temputare's Rising. James Whitmore left during the first season. Paul Lynde took his place during the next two. That show went through quite a few changes with the hospital and the crew.
Actually, this was from the start of the 1972-73 season, when "The Paul Lynde Show" and the original "Temperatures Rising" got started. James Whitmore was the original doctor on the latter - and replaced the next season by Lynde, who starred in what by then was called "The All-New Temperatures Rising Show." As to "TPLS," the producer of that show was the same one who'd helmed the recently-cancelled "Bewitched."
The producer being William Asher. I guess he found a spinoff of sorts with Paul Lynde who played Uncle Arthur on 'Bewitched.' I remember as a kid watching and even thinking then that it was horrible. I think it lasted but one season, if that.
I missed those shows they were my faves.

This has been flagged as spam show
I commented on a related clip that I had a crush on Nancy Fox as an 11 year-old. Her cuteness factor is still off the charts.

Cleavon Little was the only one to survive all three "TR" incarnations.

Paul Lynde ironically replaced James Whitmore.on "Temperatures Rising" the following season.

You'd be right about that . . . this may explain why he joined the "Temperatures Rising" cast the next year.
