  • This vid is slick

  • lol i thought this was about runescape LOL

  • saline and irrigation syringe seems like would be good addition for that sized kit.

Like you say, "flush the heck outta em".

If you're not familiar with it, Tea-Tree oil "first-aid kit in a bottle", takes near no room and good for what ails ya.

  • biofreeze (for bruises or pulled muscles) comes in little packets as well as the triple antibiotic, hydrocortisone and antifungal cream. they're really handy to have outdoors and they are easy to store. also you might wanna keep a coban bandage (like an ace bandage but it wont get ruined if wet) to support a rolled ankle or a banged up wrist.

  • ibuprofen, moleskin, and anti diarrhea pills is what I would add. Then it is exactly what I would carry, nice kit and well organized with that pouch!

  • cyclist shave their legs so wounds will be easier to tape. Good idea if ure in the woods too I think.

  • cayenne pepper is a great addition to any first aid kit

  • Good Video, but why do you carry a Hammer?!?

There are plenty of Stones around for sure!

  • Hey buddy! Great video as usual! Glad you found that velcro pannel for your FR-1. I have a few of them on different packs I use so I can just swap out the kit when needed. Makes it much easier to get your kit when you need it.

  • @1967sarge That was a great tip thanks.

  • Great information. The only things that I have that's different is "Blood Stopper" picked it up at REI, . I added a small dental kit that has Oil of Clove, powdered Zinc Oxide and a few cotten swabs. The only thing my kit was lacking realistically was a way to treat tooth aches, or broken teeth.

Videos are outstanding keep them coming.

  • Great video Terry. Good kit and good call on the gunpowder :)

    Nate

  • i would suggest tweezers and military scissors (you know in boomerang like shape)

  • nice video man thanks

  • i knew somehow you where in EMS when u pulled the occlusive dressing out I've been in EMS and fire for like 6 years now and everyone thinks I'm nuts because i carry a SAM splint, petroleum gauze, oral glucose, cpr mask and set of nasal airways. i just prepare for the worst case scenario.

  • If you're out with your Condor II and it starts to rain, is there anything in your FAK that'll get ruined as a result?

  • @dadinanm3 not really, but I have a cover for the pack.

  • @iawoodsman Got it. Thanks.

  • What is the groundcloth/tarp?.... Great Videos, been watching for a while!

  • @millsdixon Is a US causality blanket.

  • Great vid. Like you said, not a comprehensive FAK, but covers most all the things you'd REALLY want a FAK for.

  • Terry cool vid thanks.

  • Thanks for the video and the short sharp tips at the end, I found it very useful.

  • Thanks for sharing...very good video!

  • Thank God, somebody other than myself advocates NOT suturing yourself in the field ! Irrigation is the key as you stated.

Great kit btw. Keep up the good videos.

  • what are those items at 3:30? I believe you said mastercall adhesive, but i googled it and turned up with nothing even with keywords "mastercall medical adhesive"

  • @oKazaryo It is mastisol

  • For survival and Bushcraft that is a well thought out kit . I keep mine small for backpacking. I didn't realize you are a paramedic so don't need to explain myself then lol

  • Nice kit, similar to what I like to take but I would recommend adding an burn or ivy ointment. Mult-purpose and very useful. Rock on woodsman!

  • Good info, thanks man, thanks for what you do.

  • This reminded me to re-stock my first aid kit. I need some more of those 4x4 gauze.

  • Great right to the point video, thanks so much! I am always eagerly waiting for your next video.

  • What about quik clot and related products? Been trying to find a good affordable source for that stuff. It's expensive for something that is usually dated to last only a couple years.

  • Great video and good info!

  • PS: Do you happen to know anyting about a glue that is used by doctors to glue up cuts or other deeper wounds instead of suturing? The kid of a friend of mine had a deep wound the other day and the doctor just glued it together within a few minutes!

Sounds very interesting for outdoor use!

  • @steintanz I know what you are talking about. It works ok on areas that don't move a lot.

  • ... good aid kit!

    Thanks for sharing, Tim

  • really good kit,

mow when i see this video, i thinking i need to look over my kit in my bushbag

    fredde

  • Why don't you have any scissors or moleskin in your kit? Those are items I find I use a lot, though I never think I'll have to.

  • @dchinell I don't get blisters on my feet. and I use a knife to cut most everything, Good question though.

  • No quick clot?

  • Don't use gun powder? ARE YOU SAYING JOHN J. RAMBO WAS WRONG?

No but seriously, cool video :)

  • go on ebay for mastisol they have spray and small vials on there couple of dollers for the vials each and 20 bucks for 150ml spray bottel

  • coleman makes those dissolve soap sheets and sells at walmart in the camping spot!

  • As a EMT what is your oppinion on quick clot? Thanks for all the video's.

  • @WyOutDoors From what MD's have told me Quick Clot is a last ditch effort and has several complications.

  • Nice video, thanks for the good info, even if we think we know something it is good to see someone elses perspective on the subject. Thats how we continue learning. Take care and have a great day.

  • Another superb instructional vid. Thanks T!

  • Hey! my mom was a paramedic! good man. good video.

  • Really great kit, how much was that FR-1? I was thinking about getting a condor one similar to the one you have.

  • @BraveTheWilds They are not cheap, I think they are around 42.00

  • Good info as always T! Thanks for showing us. =)

  • The pet stores carry inexpensive packets of Tetracycline (found in fish area), which can be used as a safe, effective broad spectrum antibiotic -- take after meals 250 - 500mg x4 daily, for up to six days. Be cautious of name brand disinformation! This information is based on what I do, not what you should do; all DRUGS have side effects.

  • just a bit of advice from a fellow medic you dont want to use anything petrolium based on a burn. save those for everything else. they are great for road rash. nice kit i have the same pouch.

  • @FixedByDoc Good advice

  • @iawoodsman you are welcome. the petrolium traps in any remaining heat in the skin thus causing it to worsen. but road rash makes it a mirical cure go figure.

  • Where did you get the soap waffers? Great stuff in their. Tums and asprin its a necessity.

  • @flyfishscm Got em at a local sporting good store

  • Cool. What is the name of that glue that is used with steri-strips? I couldn't make out the name of it. I've never heard of that and it sounds great. Thank you for sharing. Tweezers with a magnifier, benadryl for severe allergic reactions, hand sanitizer and anti-diarrheal tabs are the only things I carry in addition to you.

  • @MrJoeyBoombotz It is mastisol, you might have to get it from an MD

  • @iawoodsman Thank you. I really appreciate the time you take to make such informative and interesting videos. There are a handful of you that seem to make it a labor of labor love and you all are the ones I enjoy the most. Someday this format may take the place of kids having to go to school. I've learned a whole new life style and several different skill sets from all the sharing people here. I could have learned everything I learned in school from a format like this. Teach a man to fish.......

  • @MrJoeyBoombotz You are welcome, I am glad you get some info from my vids. I try to cut out the BS and keep it short.

  • Great vid buddy ..I just bought the FR-1 to....

  • Thanks Terry, I am going to go make mine now. I just got a Maxped Rat Wallet it will work great to hold my kit..

  • Good stuff, thanks for posting!
