Amazing from coldplay but I think any crowd that wastes a song like this should not be there. Fix you is one of those songs that can either be really good, like here, or heart-wrenchingly good. Watch Fix You live in toronto. Even Chris wipes away a tear at the end because of the amazingness of the crowd. I would be ashamed to miss such an opportunity.

The crowd was a bit dead (Chris at the end was surprised when nobody sang along) but I guess when you have the chance to see many monsters of rock such as U2, Paul Mc Cartney, Coldplay, Annie Lennox, Pink Floyd (among many others great musicians that played that day at the live 8) taking turns to perform live in front of your eyes, you either fall in a trance from over excitement or you become totally blasé.

@PAULLONDEN Further to your point, The X&Y album was release in early June, 2005 (containing "Fix You" as one of the tracks), and the Live 8 concert was July 2nd, 2005. So it needs to be understood that in a month, people in the general public may not have become acquainted with the lyrics. (I myself had never heard the song -- shamefully -- till Sept 2011...my loss) However, the song had been released so the last verse could very well have been sung by Chris if had chosen to.
