My brother has '00 Sx-r 600 triple single pipe with a can not sure what kind beat it , has me for first 50-100 feet then I cruise by, my neighbour has same but 500 and stock can , he's jus behind the 600 , and our buddy has '01 srx 600 triple triple pipes stock and he can stay right with me and my lil bro has the 99 zr 600 twin it beats me on hard pack but I beat him in fields mine is '01 classic 600 H.O. Twin (edge chassis) m-10 suspension
@Mcnutts3 Yamaha SXRs were available with a 500cc to 700cc engine.Arctic cat ZRs were available with a 440cc to 900cc engine.Which SXR & ZRs has your Polaris 600 supposedly eaten? The above video is of a Yamaha SRX (snow racer experiment) 700 triple, triple pipe sled. They came factory stock with 140 to 143 horse power & owned the 700 stock, improved stock & often the 800 stock grass drag competition during their production run from 1998-2002.
the name srx should speak for itself because i know still to this day 440's that would tromp newer 100's in 500ft i know of a 1976 yamaha exciter 440 fan, with operational fan still that would beat both these sleds in 500 ft
I had an 01' 1/2 XCSP 700 (VES) with an Earlindson(sp) 4 angle helix and an orange 2nd ary spring --thats it --and it would clean up at will my pals 99' SRX 700 that had a cold air kit, clutch kit, silencer and a ton of studs. Love the Yammie's fot the technology and refinement, but thats it.
@twostrokeornill1 I am not saying anything about your XCSP. But for example I have a srx700 and a neighbor has a srx700
He went by the jetting on the chart and left his primary clutch shifting from the dealership setup.
i got mine revving out to where is should be at 8350. And I got my plugs color to a nice light brown.
He took mine for a ride he asked if I had a big bore. :-) Tuning a sled from stock specs gives a big advantage. One day I might beat a stock XC and not the next day.
@twostrokeornill1 My 99 SRX, jetting & clutching would walk all over those black & red XCSP's. Maybe the SRX was poorly set-up, tired or was poorly maintained. You sure it wasn't an SRX 600 with sticking power valves? The grass drag records indicate that apples to apples the Yamaha SRX 700 owned the Competition until the lightweight (2nd year) 2004 Arctic Cat F-7 began nosing by the Yammys. Just saying apples to apples the SRX was king for 5 years.
@70scarrestoguy The 99srx700 in question Was a new 700 right from the showroom that was running 100% and was worked and dialed in by the guys at Bender. I couldn't compete with it's legendary triple triple top speed, but in a drag race to 100-ish, the SRX could not compete well with the USA machine.
I have an 02 srx 700 and an 72 élan with a soup can exhaust the élan owns hands down
