Nice sound for the period, however by the mid-sixtes r&b was really influening alot of the stuff being produced and the "Happenings" cover had everybody groovin in my town which was racially mixed until 1971. Thanks for the post. Loved this song then and love it now.
This original version is far better than the Happenings better known and more played re-make. When I listen to this, I can genuinly envision a broken hearted student saying goodbye to his sweetheart for the summer.
Big hit in the summer of 1959. I was sixteen years old, and as much as I looked forward to summer vacation, I knew I would miss some friends that I would not see again until September. Brings back lots of memories. ♫♥♫
