Well the truth is that when u grow learning how to sing by yourself, Ur sistem get to use to... This is Christina's situation... She grew up without a guide of how to sing correctly... So her sistem get use to it... And she creates her own technique... so it might no be healthy for another person to imitate her but she does have a great voice... And she has something that a lot of people don't.... She has a great voice, she has a unique technique/style & her voice is very emotional....

The first time I heard this song it was done by Karen Carpenter and it was sung beautifully and intimately with a haunting vocal. The lyrics are very intimate, and all the screaming and over singing of xtina turns me off. It all sounds the same.
There are many different voices in this world. She is the beautiful powerful voice. I know not everybody is going to like her. How could anyone not respect her performances? The reason why they are all great is because along with that incredible voice she sings with heart and emotion. You can fell whatever emotion is in the song. I love it when she lets loose.

yes i love that part it is the perfect pitch, perfect build up leading to that point... that is my favorite part of the song... she did a great job here... but at the Grammy awards she over sang it just a bit..

Sorry to burst the bubble but this performance id bloody awful.

and OVER the top
The runs and embellishemnets detract from the original melody NOT enhance.
Check out Whitneys version (not the latest version but the one for the troops in 1991)

so tired of people bad mouthing Christina, try to comprehend that Herbie Hancock collaborated with MANY artists for his "Possibilities" album and Christina was only one of them. In that album FILLED WITH COLLABORATIONS only her song was NOMINATED AT THE GRAMMYS and became the CARRIER SINGLE. Whitney and Beyonce may have sung this song but NEITHER OF THEM got recognized by being nominated unlike the legendary Christina Aguilera!!!

But this...is bad! The first version of this I heard was Leon Jackson's and I love it, I love the arrangement, I love how he sings it....she sings it all over the place, it's an utter mess!

I believe they know more about live interpretation than you.
It's clear that you are learning your ABC's of singing and don't have the sophistication to comprehend what Herbie and Christina are doing.
So keep on taking your baby steps for now. One day, you may learn what real singers do with covers.

i used to love Christina until one day it dawned on me that she has absolutely no emotion and feeling when it comes to singing a real song she cares to much about how she sounds and yes she sounds great but there is nothing there she is robotic she needs to connect to the music more

christina has excellent vocal and she proved it in these songs you mentioned and yes a mans world was emotional but that is the only live performance i have seen christina put soul into. she does NOT put soul and TRUE feeling into her songs beccause she tries to much to sound amazing and this results in her oversinging. don't get me wrong i have huge amounts of respect for christina vocally. but she DOES NOT put her heart and soul into performances. for example this live performance is over done
