the kick start was an optional kit that was designed for the kl600, and it will fit any KLR up to '96 w/o swaping parts. and will fit later models if you are willing to swap parts(if you can find them) . clutch basket, clutch hub(thanks Eaglemike!), clutch side engine cover all had to be swaped.
dang, not worth it (to me). I think I have read about that bike on one of the KLR forums
