  • That alarmsound is used in CODMW2, Splinter Cell as well as in Half-Life 2 and also maybe in other games.

    I think that game developers (from everywhere) often use sounds from a kind of "basic sound collection", where everyone can pick out already "given sounds" instead of creating new ones.

    So I don't really know why you are complaining about where that sound is from??

  • yeah true XD the megamob sound from L4D wasn't created by Valve. I've heard the exact sound on a flashanimation that was released 3-4 years before L4D xD

  • this was footage of the unreleased version, which was probably still in beta phase. note how rochelle's t-shirt is different, the graphics are less gritty, and the ai and gameplay is slightly duller. THE ACTUAL gameplay is WAY more awesome and suspenseful, and the official soundtrack is creepier and more hair-raising.

  • I love how they make like safe areas that we would build if this ever happened, this one with an alarm a small bunker surronded by high metal fencing, I don't think it would have lasted very long.

  • No more haz mat zombies here - on the demo it's riot zombies you have to shoot in the back. And you get police vatons instead of axes. I wonder if it'll change.

    Anyways,i got the demo. And i got a mod for the demo in which you can play as infected >:)

  • I find it funny how the melee weapons are like the same thing. The fireaxe is just like the guitar, only it slashes. The machete is just like the frying pan except slashes, and the baton is just a piece of shit.

  • actually, not true. The frying pan & baton & fire axe all have less range than the guitar. I tested it out after freezing a horde, same with the other weapons in the demo. They all have diff ranges.

  • Except, if you times it by 70%. and then divide by 800x and subtract 5x, the actual trajectory would be 150%, which means they are actually the same.

  • That alarm is really close, if not the exact same alarm from the climax scene in HL2E2.

  • Playing the Demo on a HD TV made me feel like i was looking a shit going across the screen all game. It looks better on standard definition TVs. Am i the only one who thinks L4D was more polished than L4D2? I like the new guns and everything.... just feel like it was lacking something of the original.

  • Could be. I only have a standard definition TV. I played it on HD at a friends house. But CoD4 looks like crap on his TV too but i here it looks amazing on other HDTVs

  • First of all, this is a youtube video, can't judge graphics on a youtube video, second of all, this is a daylight level, which means it doesnt have all the shaders of a night time level, 4/5 campaigns, from what ive seen, are night time.

  • Actually, Dead Center is set in the late afternoon, while the sun is still up. That makes 3/5

    A car alarm draws a horde, but when you're shooting up zombies in a fight, you get a few come at you, and maybe a special, which would happen anyway.

  • I'm glad you agreed. Than by that standard all games: puzzle, shooter, adventure, board, and the like are repetitive. So no game is ever worth buying because of their repetition.

  • -__- Sigh. When I said "you should know the answer to it" I guess I overestimated you. There is a word called "more" and if you didn't figure this out, all of L4d's campaigns utilizes the same concept, which make it repetitive. Yes no matter how large the world of a game is it ends up with limits, which makes it repetitive. But there is a difference between a L4D and FF. All games are repetitive, it's just that L4D is "more" repetitive. Lower on the scale.
