  • Theres a Legend...

  • One of the greatest legends of all time! He wanted to go back to Junes family roots maybe with a feeling it would be his last time

  • Comment removed

  • Do I hear people talking durings Johnny's performance?? WTF

  • What can I say that has not been said.......?? RIP Johnny....

  • Johnny s broken voice about june

    R.I.P

  • Great remaster! The original made Johnny sound a lot worse than he did. In this one he is still doing the business. RIP Mr Cash

  • If only people knew back then he would die couple of months later you would have had an audience of 895 million people.

  • The Man In Black will Live Forever With The Highwaymen.

    R I P Johnny.....We Miss You.....

  • An American Classic, The Great Johnny Cash!

  • I got the lucky chance to haul equipment for George Jones for fan fair around this same time maybe 8 months or so before this was shot, and got to see Johnny Cash going into a place to eat. He was being pushed in a wheelchair. I was waving at Johnny hoping to get a response and Ron from Jones's band said "he can't see you, he's blind". Ron said he would take me up to say hi, and I didn't do it. I didn't want to bother Mr. Cash- I wish I had at least shaken his hand. R.I.P. Johnny- we love ya!

  • Tok'sa Brother Cash :-)

  • senza parole..

    solo pelle d'oca!

questo è johnny cash, musica fino alla fine..

    R.I.P. johnny!

  • i can tell you every real musician out there wants this to happen to them. to play one final gig right before they die. RIP Cash, you were the man! see ya in Heaven, man.

  • JoHnny cash is always in our hearts.

  • And her wife died 51 days before this day and he was sick. That explain he was sad and tired. But this didn't stop him to do what he loves : Playins guitare, singing, and LIVING !!

  • 68 days exactly before his death. He lives his passion till the end! What a great man he was . Johnny...

  • ohw he looks sooooooo sad :-( tired too..

  • ohw he looks sooooooo sad :-(

  • Middle of witching this and just cried...

  • This man deserves respect above anything else, his brother died, his father an alcoholic blamed johnny for the death. He may have been an bit of a ladies man but what music legend wasn't. He suffered from a serious drug problem, which he came over, I cannot imagine what "going cold turkey" feels like but he overcame it. He never gave up on love and in the end it payed off. He married the woman of his dreams only to live his last days alone. A lot of people close to him have died. He is strong.

  • I....I just cant watch this... :'(

  • @MasterChief865 I agree !!!

  • wow his eyes are so empty the pain of losing the mrs. wow sad but powerful

  • Jonny Cash eres grande!!! fuiste el mejor siempre un paso mas de Elvis mucha gente no conoce tu musica, pero para mi fuiste el mejor!!

  • That camera was placed Too far back, that's the problem.

  • What an honor to just be in the same room as this man. I remember when he passed away that stupid entertainment news guy from KABC TV came into my shop and started asking me my feelings about the passing of John Ritter (he'd died round the same time Johnny had) ... I just kinda looked at him and told him flat out" Screw Ritter, Johnny Cash died this week and you guy'sve barely even mentioned him.!" This was on camera too....needless to say I didn't make the 11PM news that night...pity huh?

  • It sure is sad to see people getting old,....Johnny Cash R.I.P.

  • Oh my God, to be that close to the Man in Black!!!

  • SIT..THE FUCK....DOWN... ASSWHIPES

  • I almost cried at Sunday Morning Coming Down :'(

    So sad he's gone :(

  • where is the concert

  • REST IN PEACE JOHNNY CASH YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN MAY YOUR MUSIC LIVE ON FOR ANOTHER 50 YEARS!!!!!!!!

  • @kidsnow87 and then Some!

  • The people who are walking about, clearly don't know how privileged they are by being that close to Mr John Cash himself.. I would give so much to be that close to him, to see him live would have been a dream come true, but when he died I was only 8 years old and didn't know much about music, it just makes me wish he were still alive and kicking.. Johnny Cash is the man. The end!

  • Down in front!

  • God Damn it, the look in Mr. Cash's eyes is of a caged lion still grasping on for freedom and all those ASSHOLES, not realizing the majesty and grace of a dying man. Scurrying around and "flashing pictures" that when "real music" was being written and produced, you did, rarely (due to the bulb change) at the appropriate time (not blinding the artist). Kudos to you jlabomb for catching this rare moment, when the F-ing music industry turned it's back (once again) on a music legend.

  • I'm with ya bro... sit the fuck down!!

  • who are those fucking idiots standing in front of the camera? that's johnny FUCKING cash up there.

  • It's amazing the strength of a man about to die and just lost his "rock" and get up and still give us Johnny Cash. I'm not a big C and W fan but he transcended all of it and will be remembered for a long time to come> Why can'r these damn people sit and take it all in, so rude.

  • @whaleman09 Absolutely. This performance alone, and the fact he was able to do it at all, gives us the measure of the man. We lost him just months later and he must have known it was coming, yet he still gave us his best. Certain people in the audience should have shown a bit more respect for The Man in Black, who showed such dignity and strength, when most of us would have folded.

  • It makes me sad, when I look in the eyes of this broken man. His eyes say "I´m ready to go. June, I willl be there".

  • @zuziehn yep you're right i see that too

  • Legendary! What a man...

  • ich liebe johnny cash...

es wird immer in unseren herzen bleiben mit seinen texten..

es ist traurig ihn so zu sehen

  • lolol cash is the man, just bought a black acoustic guitar yeooo

  • Its hard to see him so frail but he still was an amazing singer. We miss you John!!

  • You are missed so much

  • Hope he has it fine in haven :-)

  • Who in there right mind would walk around in front of the camera during a Johnny Cash concert? They must be heavy drinkers. :p

  • he still had it even then, the music industry lost a good man when he went, Rest In Peace John you will always be remembered

  • It's sad because you'll never find another man with as much talent as he had R.I.P mr.cash

  • I grew up with Johnny Cash Music and I mean no offense with this comment: But you could see in his face... that he was ready to go. That light in his eyes... It was all gone. The Death of June had ripped his heart clean out of his chest... And it's so unfortunate... R.I.P Mr. Cash.

  • Carter Family Fold, Virginia

  • Rest in peace father of rock n roll!

  • thanks to my grandfather for introducing me to this amazing man.... he died 2 years ago and i smile every time i imagine him up there with the man in black...singing, laughing and remembering old times.

  • He is always a part of my heart and never forgotten.

  • God Bless rip

  • Hes thinking back & wishing he could go there, I do too...RIP CASH

  • He's struggling up there to give these people a show and they can't shut up and listen. Rude people

  • thanks to my dad .. this man is reponsible for the soundtrack to my life.. there will absolutley never be another johnny... GOD BLESS JOHNNY CASH

  • I am a big fan og Johnny Cash and I listen to his music all the time Rest in peace. I hear he isnt able to sing in this video. Why? Did he have a cancer or something like that in his throat? Can someone tell me? (sorry for my bad english)

  • @thorir30 I'm not sure but I know that he had lung problems throughout the later half of his life. As far as your english, I can tell you, its not bad.

  • @thorir30 He wasn't a well man. He'd had health issues with his lungs resulting from pneumonia and diabetes since the 90s

  • really wish i'd seen him live

  • There will never be another Johnny Cash R.I.P may your spirit live on.

  • i know he had diabetes on top of his lung problems..if left untreated it can cause poor circulation/blood flow

  • Whats up with his hand? Its all black?

Anyway Johnny Cash will never be forgotten, one of the greatest singers in the human race.

    RIP Johnny Cash

  • this is from june 2003, or so? if i remember right, it was only a few months before he passed away

  • Happy Birthday Johnny Cash

  • Get yourself a monopod, you can use it like a crane in these kinds of situations and shoot from above, you tilt the camera monitor and try not to get a crick in you rneck.

  • johnny cash is still one of the best musicians in the history, we never forget him, im spic and i love him, johnny you are in a bettter place now.

  • fuckin legend the best no question....

  • Unbearably sad. But he had it right until the end didn't he? What a complete star, there's no better than Johnny. At least he's back with June now.

  • When June died, so did Johnny...

  • he looks so sad

  • That's not fair that you were waiting 8 hours, and then they plonked a load of chairs right in front of you!!!

  • it always leaves me feeling like i have a large hole in my chest where my heart should be, when i think of all the things these legendary men gave to us and now have left us with. Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holy just to name a few. No longer around to grace our ears with their beautiful voices and songs. They were men, like you and I, they breathed, they slept, they ate and drank, it goes to show that anything is possible. These men will never be forgotten in my mind, and in my heart.

  • I look at it like this,I didn't know Johnny Cash or Elvis,Roy Orbison or Townes Van Zant, only knew them through their works.

And their poetry and music is timeless so to me they are still here with us.Still shed a tear when The man in Black checked out though.

  • @smokingbandit67 Beautiful sentiments and heartfelt. They all left something that most of us can identify and connect with. They are certainly missed. I doubt we shall see their kind again. We were privileged to have them while we did.

  • Absolute kick ass.

How awesome for you to have been able to see a true legend.

    RIP Johnny!

  • verry sad to see him like this.. music was his life.. he's a great man! I thank him for all his work!

  • I never thought, "Sunday Morning Coming Down," could sound any sadder.

  • so sad to see him gone :(

  • Forgive me for asking such a simple question, but who was Johnny's lead guitarist for this performance? Great video, but very moving. How lucky you were to be there.

  • & he still had that badass grin.

  • Yep, still had that little spark of "bad boy" there. Man in Black, R.I.P. Still an influence to this day!!

  • I had the privalige of seeing this MAN and June in 2001 at the carter fold. One of the best nights of my life. It was shorlty b4 the cmt special they did for him that year. I just wish more people from my generation could have had such an experience. R.I.P. Johnny You a dearly missed

  • There will never be another.

    <3

  • obviously not his best performance. but still, brilliant.

    J. R. Cash, may you rest in piece

  • Well... final performances are rarely the best... oddly enough..

But you also have to consider his age (obviously), and the fact that he's singing through the equivalent of a glorified karaoke system. In the studio, you're using diaphragm condenser mic, outboard gear (effects, etc), acoustically-treated rooms, etc. There's a lot of variables... though certainly less than in Johnny's hay day.

He looks tired. Poor Johnny... :(

  • yeah he looks like hes lived ten lifetimes in the space of just one.

  • Fantastic clip. R.I.P Johnny ♪♫ ♥

  • he's without doubt the best singer ever...

    rest in peace, johnny =(

  • thank you so much for the music johnny cash,to all those who helped you thank you...always fantastic no matter what...!!

  • This video is so great! Just bare bones Johnny Cash. So genuine...his voice obviously isn't what it was, but that's what makes this so endearing. No bright lights, no big stadiums...Just Johnny Cash doing what Johnny Cash does. Brilliant!

  • I bet he is singing that same song right now.....there will never be another one

  • I LOVE IT

  • This Vedio Makes Me Cry , I can not even breathe

Rest In Peace Johny & June

  • miss you johhny! should have lived inntill you were att least 90! you are country music!! thank you so much from norway.

  • consimate diligent love thats Mr.cash.And it goes to show ya I'd rather live on a farm .than afuckin neighboorhood!

  • i bet he could have played that guitar under any circumstances, he outplays his voice

    still sounds nice though

  • this sums up everything that johnny cash was and is - he's on the verge of passing away yet he's still out there, giving it his all just like he'd been doing 50 years before.

A great quote from his autobiography - "When death comes knocking at the door, you should be reaching for your shotgun"

  • Is that one guy there Johnny's son?

  • john cash is the most awesome singer and even tho is hurtin so bad because of junes death he plays his heart out for us people that is a man a true man i love this guy !!!

  • Johnny showed up unknown to most at the Carter Fold on that Saturday night. He wanted to come back to Junes home and perform.

  • C U soon Mr Cash!

    LEGEND

  • people are assholes indeed. makes me very sad...

  • These people show no respect, they are assholes.

  • Oh man, I can't watch this. I keep trying to, but I can't.

I have the audio, when he sings Angel Band at this appearance my heart breaks, but seeing this is too much...

  • Considering all the stupid people walking in front of you I think you did an excellent job. Thanks for posting

  • does it get any better then this? i think NOT! 'i shot a man in reno just to watch him die.' god bless you, j.r.

  • wow all these people standing up and walking around. what the hell?! dont they give a fuck about Johnny? idiots. I would have sat up front and stayed stuck to my seat. Also Johnny didnt seem in the mood to play. I wouldnt want him to play for people if he wasnt in the mood or if he wasnt feeling good. He was getting old. he needed to rest and what not.

  • People didnt realize what they were witinessing... a last in history... they dont give a shit... assholes!

  • It's utterly disgraceful.

Johnny Cash deserves so much more than these assholes.. clapping, walking and moving, eating nachos like a damn film.. How dare they.

RIP J.R.. we all love and miss you so much. Your music will always live on in the hearts of those who cared xxx

  • Go ON JOHNNY
