    Or I could go out and buy a 3.5k LT1 f-body, put a few boltons on it, and bam. I'm running 12's.

    125 shot, DRs, and a converter. 11s.

    Heads/cam, 10s. Up the shot and do some internals, 9s.

    How does a honda get into the 11's? Motor swap, then internals/bolt ons, THEN turbocharged.. Seems legit.

  • @zunetrav4 or just grab a 1K dollar EG hatch and a B18C GSR engine only ... pull the trans,axles,and control arms out of a early honda CRV with AWD... after some welding and fabbing and a few thousand dollars of performance parts you have a 10 second daily driver on street tires that you can drive in ANY weather oh did i mention handling that rivals STIs and EVOs while still getting 29MPG and the satisfaction of whooping every muscle car out on the streets with a 4cy includingcorvette

I just think it's ALOT of work just to run 12's.. It's respectable for what it is though. But I'm looking at this 5500 camaro, LS1 motor. I get some drag radials and a $700 torque converter and I'm running 12's. More practical for a DD.

  • @zunetrav4 months? lol naa dude ill throw a swap under the hood in 2 1/2 hours by myself those engines are plug and play civic and integra parts are identical except for the bodys and the swap kit comes on a pallet with engine trans wiring harness ecu and axles ... basically everything you need and a type R B18 stock runs low 13s like really low 13s and gets 30mpg

  • @CrackinVTEC666 You're making a fool out of the REAL Honda tuners. Fact is a V8 will always be a better platform for both dyno numbers, E/T slips, AND for trap speed. Although they're heavy, and use 1980s or earlier tech, they're solid platforms. With that being said, I, as well as many enthusiasts, prefer 4 cylinders over 8,for varying reasons. My k20 could run high 11s on heavy boost and still get around 31-34 mpg highway(Something no V8 i've raced/owned has managed to achieve).

    And you're incorrect. I-4s are fairly common (and dominant) in smaller racing organizations(Autocross events, Drift, Touge, Gymkhana, Offroad Rally, Pike's Peak ect ect ect).

    But hey...Good luck buying a "Major motorsports" engine. Lemme know if you find a used 2.4L F1 engine for less than $200,000.

I have a bolt on ls1 trans am and he has an integra with a 2.4 swap and a supercharger. we have been going back and forth beating each other and going back and tinkering some more. how it should be. we both give each other respect, because he actually knows his stuff and is modest about it. but most suffer the same fate as the one in this vid

    I really beat the hell outta that honda....But then I ran outta gas.

    I won the battle...He won the war...By around 20mpg.

  • Well said NedacFilms. Unless one tunes and upgrades their economy car it's not meant to beat a V8. I have a LS3 Camaro and once I was at a red light and a yellow Type R pulled up reviving away. It had a deep exhaust note but I had no idea what was under the hood. I thought I was going to have a tough time with my car being heavier but when the light changed I didn't even take off that hard. The Type R did, so I let loose. I beat it very easily. I guess unless turbos are added, they're weak.

  • @p4horror Compared to a stock 400+hp LS3, they are weak 90% of the time, but there is that 10% that have dumped their whole life into their sport compact. A local fella (Arbogast) had a Honda Civic that ran 10.4 (R.I.P, he and his GF passed a few years ago in a non-performance related car accident) Kid was a damn genius, did all the work himself, he was a very liked guy, and respected amongst the Domestic crowd. His brother had a Cobra that wouldn't touch the Honda, LOL!!! Rare breed.

Now if only Japanese and Domestic automakers could work together and build a production car with an aerodynamic 50/50 weight distribution chassis and some pure American V8 muscle, we could all be happy. :)

  • @lemenscody Thats not true at all, there were some Type R Integras here, late 90's early 00's they ran damn good considering what they had. most of them didnt even come with A/C or a radio! (although they werent as tuned as the JDM version)

The day I went to buy it with enough cash in my account, they had sold it the day before. When we were both stopped behind other cars at the next red light, I scoped it out and it was exactly the same Type R I almost had bought..
