Thanks, once I saw this video, I realized something, with some .dmg packages, when you un-archive them, they come up with the yellow box thing, I had an application that I was looking for for weeks, found it, couldn't un-archive and get the application though, I went to the package contents and found it in seconds, this is a really good method. Thankyou.

Thanks. iMovie HD 6 was a free download if you bought iLife '08, but then apple removed the download from their site. So if you bought iLife '08 this is legal, otherwise not.

a very big thanks indeed. My hard disc failed last month on my oct 06 macbook pro, just after the Japanese earthquake (shurley not connected) I installed a 500gb samsung, along with the new op system, and it's rubbish. firefox is slow, and i can't get the command keys to operate like they used to. ie tap the shift key several times to lock it on, & then i found imovie...what a crock. U can see i've made good use of HD on my vids here, and thanks to you i can use i again. That's one less problem!

I thought this would solve my problem but no luck. I have a 2006 iMac running iMovie HD6 and a new MacBook with the latest iMovie etc. I assumed it was running iLife but that must be a separate package because when I downloaded iMovie HD following your instructions the message came up saying I must install iLife '08. So how do I get iMovie HD on my new MacBook? By the way your instructions were great but just didn't apply to me. Hope you can help.
