I'm experiencing clicks and drop outs with my toneport ux8. And I've tried using 256 bits :( If I go the other way I get too much latency. I'm using a dell inspiron 1545 3GB ram
Whoa! I didn't know the Eee had it in it! I've had and loved a KB37 for years, but I've only managed to get it to work with desktop PCs, no laptops or Macs. My desktop just died, but I've got an old Eee here that you've convinced me to try! Thank you for making this video!
I have Magix Music maker that has a midi editor and responds to midi controller, allowing to play vsti instruments - can I use Line6 Toneport KB37 as a midi controller for the Midi editor part of Magix Music Maker?
Thanks for this video :) I'm thinking of making a playing / quick recording setup with my Line6 GX and a mini laptop an Asus eee PC. Nice to see it performs quite well with its specs.
yep. my band records using the ux2 with adobe audition. it works fine, but i would personally recommend cubase or logic rather than adobe audition. however, thats just a matter of opinion.
I finally bought it , but on my notebook the sound just disappears at times, so I cant record my self properly :( I think that's what you call " clicking" ... do you have any Idea how to avoid that? thx if you know :D
@musicmastertom92 This piece of hardware was made with intermediate recording in mind, so they are assuming you have a recording host with your own synth sounds
You played guitar and keyboards... HOw many instruments and voices can u run trough this? Is for rehearsal porpuses... It doesn't matter if it doesn't record that many tracks... Just to know if i can run trough it 1 guitar, 1 bass and 2 mics while using VSTs on the keyboard...
hi, i want ot know how good is this to record voices, its preamps are ok? i want to buy an interfase and this looks like a complete solution (interfase, preamp, controller) i wold record guitars, bass, keyboard and voice.
i have a dell i bought in 2001 with 512 ram and i have practically zero latency with the toneport. i have a 1.8 gh processor too. I used cubase to record and it works great!!
does it have 1 gb ram and what about the ghz???i want to buy this think 4 a home studio
but im not quite sure, because my laptop haves 512 ram...and i dont want to waste my time and money on this line 6 product...so please give me some advice
how big is the toneport exactly as i cant seem to find that out L x W x H etc
also do the keys bend when fully depressed when you press hard on a key does it stop against the base plate or does it flex and crack - i mean really press on the key and see - i have a yamaha electric piano that just hits the solid bed but my novation flexes and its bloody annoying - i would hate to buy a keyboard that has this problem
can u use the toneport with adobe audition and reason. Thing is i have no intention to use a guitar at all.. i really jus want an interface and its nice to have the keyboard attached... i DONT want to use the software thats with it... Is This possible???
the pod studio kb37 is the same hardware device (apart from the new colors) but you get more software with it. You get the Pod farm plug in (vst, au etc.) for your sequencer (logic, cubase, live etc.). With the toneport youll only get the standalone application of pod farm. That is certainly not as nice as the plug-in, but they let you record your pod farm sound into your sequencer (internal mixing), you just wont be able to change the sound afterwarts.
as for the second question I can't really tell. The line6 gadgets are really nice for guitar, because they offer an amazing (in my opinion by far the best) digital modeling quality (I tried pretty much all of the other available digital amp simulations as well). For recording your mic, line6 is a very bad solution. Their mic preamps are just very bad. They are very noisy and won't even amplify your signal sufficiently.
So if you just want to record guitar, line6 is your choice :-)
i don't understand your question exactly. this thing doesn't make any sound by it self, so youll always have to run it thru a computer. its the computer that generate sthe sound.
May I ask.. Is there a keyboard preamp built IN the kb37 or do you have to download a program on the computer which actually "makes" the sounds of the keyboard?
there are only two midi controllers out there, that are actually able to assign the knobs by itself. The newest from maudio does it and and an older one that i forgot the name of. So, NO, it won't assign the knobs automatically. But in most software the assigning is pretty easy. Btw, I dont use massive. Its the Pro-53 from NI.
so, you recomend it as a stand alone midi controler for live performance? I mean, its recordin' characteristics are quite impressive, but does it work well for live performances???
depends on what you wanna do. The recordig quality of the b37 is be far NOT impressive. Its crap to be honest (very bad preamps and only 2 inputs at a time)
The keyboard is cool though. I use it live with my band without any problems.
hi..i want to know if this asus can play guitar rig with good sound and low latency with asio4all or you use an external interface to connect the guitar¿?? connect your guitar to mic in??
Yes. the ux2 must be a crap. since the recording quality, mic preamps etc. are just complete rubbish. If it wasn't for the latency, you could as well plug your mic straight into you pc. would do at least equally. the kb37 is a cool box, if your not looking for a thing that records your stuff professionally. For some jams or some practicing it'll do fine.
I mentioned the guitar sound in the video. It was the green jeans preset that comes with the gearbox (under crunch).
If you want to play some sound with your kb37, youll have to connect it with a virtual instrument in your computer. Just select the kb37 in the preferences of your instrument as the midi input. Youll find virtual instruments within logic, cubase, live etc. (On pc, they're called Vst-Instruments) If you haven't got a sequencer such as cubase, you can also use standalone instruments
I'm about to go pick mine up today. I ordered it about a week ago and it's finally here! Hopefully I'll be able to get a video up. It's going to work perfectly with my Hp dv1000 and Fl studio.
i read that they have serious problems with delivering the kb37 in the usa these days. I hope you really get one. I will soon make a video about the quality of the kb37. Im still learing from all the possibilities you get with this machine.
So many online retailers sale it, so one has to be careful and order wisely. I ordered through a company and it didn't go through, so I redid the order with Amazon and it seems to be ok for now. I will check the shipping status today with UPS online. BTW, I lived in Switzerland for a year after living in France for 10 years where I was born.
great setup!

Search on the web for a virtual instrument (for example a simple piano), you'll find a ton of free instruments. (Not that good quality though)
